Thank you. I am a 57 year old female. I was diagnosed with ITP a few months ago. I came across your video researching about ITP. I I’m on treatment of Rituxan. You have helped calm my nerves since my platelet levels as you mentioned are still fluctuating. Now I know that this is normal. I am tapering off of prednisone so we will see if this will affect my platelet count. I am praying that as you mentioned all will be okay.
@@alirajput6461 Hi, I started out with Dexamethasone through my IV. This helped bring my platelet levels up but not by much. Discharged when it got up to 66,000. My GP Had me start taking 40MG of Prednisone back in December when I was discharged hospital because I was not able to get an appointment to see a Hematologist/Oncologist till mid January of this year. After seeing the Hematologist/Oncologist, I am now doing a 4 week session of Rituxan and I am weaning off of the prednisone. I have been on 50 MG of prednisone since January 06. I am now tapering off of it by doing 50MG 5days, 40MG next 5, 30, 20, 10, 0….until I am no longer on it. Hope this helps.

@@vpee007 Hello, I just completed my last treatment for Rituxan this past Monday. The Sunday before my last treatment I stopped my dosage of prednisone. I was feeling a little off on Tuesday then on Wednesday called my clinic because I knew my platelets were below 20,000. I had started developing blood blisters in my mouth, petechiae started appearing on my legs arms and torso and bruising as well. I was told to come in so they could do a count on my platelets. Found out that it dropped to 10,000. 😞 I was put back on 50MG of prednisone again. It seems like my platelets are reactive to the prednisone but I know that it may take up to a few months to really see if the Rituxan is working. In the mean time I have been prescribed Promacta. I’m waiting on approval from my insurance for this new drug and I’m praying that this will boost my platelet count. As I am new to ITP. I’m finding out that treatment is not always a one size fits all. I am hopeful that one of these treatments will work. I hope this helps.

I am 64, and I was diagnosed in March 2022. My platelets were 25,000 in July 2022, when my wife and I got Tboned traveling 120 kilometers an hour while on holiday driving through Saskatchewan, I was in the passenger seat and just woke up before impact. We ended up upside down in a ditch. I had a cut on my eyebrow and smacked my whole left side of my face was very swollen. The cut didn't bleed unusually, which explains what you are saying about remaining platelets working effectively. I think we worry because of the treatments are that for cancer patients. I was in the hospital in March for two weeks for treatment. Platelets were 3000 in March. Last blood test was 35,000. Getting tested again today. Your video is comforting for us, not to panic. I have looked at the book, Eat For Your Blood Type. I am O type. Which tend to develop autoimmune disease. I also have hypothyroidism, which is an autoimmune disease. But that book is quite profound in my opinion.

Thanks doctor for your motivating information I have been recently diagnosed with ITP. I was given IvIg followed by bone marrow biopsy. My platelet increased upto 225000. But unfortunately after 15 days again fall down to 20000. Again platelets transfusion given and after that steroids started 100 mg methylpred for 3 days and now 50 mg for 10 days and so on I want to know why IVIG infusion which is so costly did not help me whereas doctor were saying it cures around 90 percent patients. I was feeling low due to my fluctuating platelets count but after watching your video I am feeling relaxed and confident that I can win over this disease

Hello Sir.. Thanks for the info. My mother has ITP from past 9 months and the platelets are fluctuating flow lowest 6000 and high after taking Rituximab for 4 weeks it has increased to 11 Lakh... Later after 2 weeks it has fallen down to 2.98 Lakh and again after 2 weeks gap it has came down to 16K later she has given 2 dose of Romy injection a gap of 8 days and platelets increased to 10 Lakh and again a gap of 2 weeks it has fall down to 16k... Bone Marrow aspiration has done and it shows normal cellularity with increased megakaryocytes. She was advised to take Danaogen 100mg Capsule 3 times a days from past 9 months So what will be next option to do so that she can be have normal platelets count

Hello sir. My mother is suffering from itp from last 1 month. She admitted in the hospital upto 15 days . Without any symptoms her platelets was 2000 on the time of admit. Her platelets level increases to 60000 at the time of discharge but after 1 day platelets count is 17000 . Doctors said that the platelets level may increase or fall we don't have to worry about that.but sir In the time of checkup platelets are 12000 and the doctors again admit her. Sir please tell how can we control her platelet level, precautions and medicines which help my mother to be better.

This is my 2nd video of yours and such a wonderful explanation. Doctor can u advice naturally or medicicine how to maintain above 50k at least. You rightly said that people detect while medical checkup. They found recent dengue in me in February and since then in July now my platelets low around 50-60k. I only have dizziness and sometimes headache, what i do.

Hello Dr. I've been taking prednisone for 3 weeks. 1st week at 80mg/day from 18 to 150 2nd week at 70mg/day from 150 to 50 Now I'm at 60mg day and I'll have to check in a week. My question is, will 60mg/day keep platelet count at an acceptable range or is there a possibility that it'll drop below 20 (for example) even with the prednisone at 60mg. Thank you sir.
@@alirajput6461 Good day, I've been off prednisone for 3 months and just a week ago my platelets were at 252, 6 weeks prior they were at 180 (they went higher without prednisone) I responded well to the prednisone, I just had to give it time for platelets to stabilize, unfortunately, not before "rebounding" to 5 (from 50 to 5 in a week) when i started with the prednisone, at which point I went to the hospital for 4 days. Time factor is very important as Dr. Kumar explains in his video. How are you doing sir?
@@alirajput6461 My oncologist told me to stay away from vitamin E but I can't say I was on a diet...I did stay away from lots of rice and fried food more than usual, but that was only for weight purposes since prednisone tends to make a person bigger. No special diet to increase platelet count.
Platelate count increased but also decreased sometimes.I take doctors prescription such as Eltrombopag ,tranexa .Same symptoms comes up.pliz suggest sir

I am 64, and I was diagnosed in March 2022. My platelets were 25,000 in July 2022, when my wife and I got Tboned traveling 120 kilometers an hour while on holiday driving through Saskatchewan, I was in the passenger seat and just woke up before impact. We ended up upside down in a ditch. I had a cut on my eyebrow and smacked my whole left side of my face was very swollen. The cut didn't bleed unusually, which explains what you are saying about remaining platelets working effectively. I think we worry because of the treatments are that for cancer patients. I was in the hospital in March for two weeks for treatment. Platelets were 3000 in March. Last blood test was 35,000. Getting tested again today. Your video is comforting for us, not to panic. I have looked at the book, Eat For Your Blood Type. I am O type. Which tend to develop autoimmune disease. I also have hypothyroidism, which is an autoimmune disease. But that book is quite profound in my opinion.

I was given IvIg followed by bone marrow biopsy. My platelet increased upto 225000. But unfortunately after 15 days again fall down to 20000. Again platelets transfusion given and after that steroids started 100 mg methylpred for 3 days and now 50 mg for 10 days and so on
I want to know why IVIG infusion which is so costly did not help me whereas doctor were saying it cures around 90 percent patients.
I was feeling low due to my fluctuating platelets count but after watching your video I am feeling relaxed and confident that I can win over this disease

My mother has ITP from past 9 months and the platelets are fluctuating flow lowest 6000 and high after taking Rituximab for 4 weeks it has increased to 11 Lakh... Later after 2 weeks it has fallen down to 2.98 Lakh and again after 2 weeks gap it has came down to 16K later she has given 2 dose of Romy injection a gap of 8 days and platelets increased to 10 Lakh and again a gap of 2 weeks it has fall down to 16k...
Bone Marrow aspiration has done and it shows normal cellularity with increased megakaryocytes. She was advised to take Danaogen 100mg Capsule 3 times a days from past 9 months
So what will be next option to do so that she can be have normal platelets count

Hello sir. My mother is suffering from itp from last 1 month. She admitted in the hospital upto 15 days . Without any symptoms her platelets was 2000 on the time of admit.
Her platelets level increases to 60000 at the time of discharge but after 1 day platelets count is 17000 . Doctors said that the platelets level may increase or fall we don't have to worry about that.but sir In the time of checkup platelets are 12000 and the doctors again admit her. This is my 2nd video of yours and such a wonderful explanation. Doctor can u advice naturally or medicicine how to maintain above 50k at least. You rightly said that people detect while medical checkup. They found recent dengue in me in February and since then in July now my platelets low around 50-60k. I only have dizziness and sometimes headache, what i do.

Hi Doctor. My wife has been diagnosed with ITP during her third trimester of pregnancy. Platelets had come down to 4000 without any symptoms and doctors gave here IVIg for two days. Platelets have gone upto 100000 and say it should be at this level for the next 2-3 weeks. My question is will this ITP go away after delivery or her condition improve?

My Hematologist Dr said that you are young , steroid have side effects, it will be dangerous for you. She if your platelates comes down to below 20000 we start steroid. She also said keep you safe from everything that physically harm you.
Does H.paylori causes ITP , because my h.paylori was positive when I first time started checkup ? Now my weight is normal same it was before .

1st week at 80mg/day from 18 to 150
2nd week at 70mg/day from 150 to 50
Now I'm at 60mg day and I'll have to check in a week.
My question is, will 60mg/day keep platelet count at an acceptable range or is there a possibility that it'll drop below 20 (for example) even with the prednisone at 60mg.

looking at the trend likely it can drop , check your count before 1 week. you may need Second line medications if steroid fails.

@@alirajput6461 Good day, I've been off prednisone for 3 months and just a week ago my platelets were at 252, 6 weeks prior they were at 180 (they went higher without prednisone) I responded well to the prednisone, I just had to give it time for platelets to stabilize, unfortunately, not before "rebounding" to 5 (from 50 to 5 in a week) when i started with the prednisone, at which point I went to the hospital for 4 days.
Time factor is very important as Dr. Kumar explains in his video.
