I really appreciate these videos they are gems. I appreciate you narrating the videos but I also appreciate the silence gaps in between. These videos are therapeutic for those of us who can’t travel! I always wanted to be a trucker and drive all over the US. But I’m too old ,too short, and too weak. So I can live my fantasies watching riding shotgun!
I drove rt395 every weekend for 5 years from Santa Monica to Mammoth and back for skiing. Loved that drive. Wished I had the twin turbo V8 I have now!!
God’s beautiful country. Thanks for sharing and taking us on this ride. I drove through Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and and Utah recently. I hoped I’d see you on the road with the chicken hanging from the window. Take care MMM your videos help take our mind out of all the messy stuff we’re facing.
Another great video thank you so much Mike for sharing your amazing views I'm from morocco god bless you sir and bless all truck driver in United States of America ^^
Hello M.M.Mike. the views are amazing. I love the huge mountains in the background, the cloud's so low they're almost touching the mountain tops. Even the views of the road ways are amazing. Looks like you're in for some thunder showers. If you ever get to Ontario, Canada and you're into Toronto I can point you to some awesome fishing spots. And great views too.
Good, more content from everbodys favorite, Likeable , good natured lug, MMM, Rolling down that long lonesome Highway with the 21st centuries version of Michael Parks!
Glad to see a new video from you, Mountain Man Mike. Love riding shotgun and I hope you keep the videos coming. Thanks for sharing the amazing scenery with us and Keep On Truckin'!
When I first drove for Greyhound, in 1980, I had the Reno to Bishop run for a month or so. I loved it, and this vid brings back good memories. Thanks for posting.
That's some beautiful country mountain Mike. Yep...I remember sayin way back in the 80s that Co was following CA laws etc and its gonna get worse and sure enough it happened and will continue. I think it's ridiculous. I still miss CO after spending a lifetime there but sure am disappointed in the politics there. Stay safe Mike. Always look forward to your videos!
Hi Mike, I wouldn't mind driving this road repeatedly, with a light load and a set of music to back me up on the way, the soreness would be less excusable, so, see ya in tne next one Mike, and, thank you for this one, well appreciated. Joe.
So glad you are back. As always, enjoyed riding shotgun & listening to you talk. You get to see some beautiful scenery. Hope the leak is fixed by now. Hope all is well your way, & with your Daughter, family. So proud of your Grandson winning. That was a terrible accident. Sure hope nobody was hurt, & no vehicle underneath. I don't know what people think when they drive like that. Have to always be on the defense out there. Enjoy fishing, love to hear about the "big" one that didn't get away. Peace.
You know there are part of your United States that I would not pay to go across but that route you took today, man I'd pay do0uble if asked to as Mike it sure is a pretty road , both picturesque and pleasant to drive over and thanks for picking me up when you did - Much Appreciated.
Hi Mike: Back in the day, before freeways, a dad stop was one where you had to take a whizz. Today being old, 82, I need those stops more than the normal rest stop distancing. I often have to make dad stop on the side of the hi-way. That’s how it was done in years gone by. If your water line to the fridge goes below the floor and back up into the house you may want to re run it behind the cabinets to stop it from freezing in the winter. Ours ran up the wall into the ceiling then down to the fridge. It froze and caused a lot of damage. I reran it and stopped the freezing issue. Nice ride, enjoyed it. Thank you, Edward
Hi Mike, how are you, l hope you are feeling very well, and regarding this video it seems to me that l had already seen this route and l don, t know if l will be wrong, but l congratulate you for your beautiful videos of North American roads, they are the best the best and l admire you very much and l send you a big hug 🤗💁♀️💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋Many kisses where you want them and cordial greetings from Chile 🇨🇱 🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱 to the beautiful ones United States 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
The guy that taught me to drive made me name off everything within my view of the roadside if I ever broke down I could tell authorities exactly where I was at. I loved it like that and I still do that today at 76 I could tell you in a moment where I am on the hiway
Hi Mountainman Mike!🤠🇺🇲 Good to hear you and see your nice Video!👋 I love the Highway 395 Ca ! I drive the Road in 2017 direktion Mammothlake ! Bodie! Yes a cool Ghosttown! A beautiful Road and Landscape! The Bulldrivercowboys🐮 have no Time!Yeeehhhaaa!🤠🐄🐂🐃 Stay save and come good to your next Destination!👍 Peace ✌
a heck of a treat to travel that route. I used it for a few years back about 1968 traveling to northern destinations from so cal, often took the Hwy 89 cut off and up to Hwy 50 then into Lake Tahoe...scenery premium, especially in late spring or early summer when there is still a lot of snow hanging around!
Mountain Man Mike, I’m so happy your back and doing what you do and entertaining us with your wonderful scenery and talks!! I prayed for you and thought about you often!! I wish I could travel some of your routes but am home taking care of the parents so it’s always great to see your videos to give me ideas when I am able to travel again. Stay safe, healthy, and many blessings for you and your family!!
My favorite road. Drove back to WA 12/31/21. We spent two days trying to figure out why our throats were so dry only to find out we were having a Covid party in the truck! Lol
I really enjoy driving highway 395, and thankfully, I’ll be doing just that in about 1 hr from now as I take the scenic route to Seattle after being in SoCal for the past 2 weeks.
Good morning to you!! Awesome video! 395 is incredible!! I had a work trip to Reno 2 years ago. My hotel was downtown. But, I think I'm the only person on the earth that stayed in downtown Reno and have no idea what is in downtown Reno. I spent all of my free time down on hwy 395 exploring the sites. Safe traveling!!
Bodie is a California State Park. If you have a 4x4 you can drive through the park and take a dirt road north and then west and end up in Bridgeport. Beautiful country up there.
used to drive - this is great for therapy I'll be getting after hip replacement soon got me through a bad winter here in Alaska - thank you for terrific views & encouraging commentation - as we used to say, "DRIVE STUPID" c em before they see you!, eh?
Haven't seen any new post lately and I'm on the way to the lake for Father's Day and wanted to wish Mountain Man Mike a Happy Father's Day hope you are able to enjoy with your family. Shout out to all the other dad's out there I can smell the grill and the keg of beer Thanks to the dad's out there gotta love them Be safe all
My former boss would plan summer road trips with his wife and three girls when they were young. They made a two-week trip out of it, pulling a camper, and they went all over the country. He's a Civil War buff, so he would sometimes stop at a historic site along the way.
I love driving Hwy 395. Can't count the number of times I've been on that road. TONS & TONS of things to see and do on the road and just off it. Won't be seeing it anytime soon though since we bailed on Newscum's dictatorship and moved to Idaho.
A friend of mine grew up in Bridgeport. His uncle owned the Walker River Lodge. First motel on your right as you came into Bridgeport. Anyway, my friend fished all over the eastern side of the Sierra. He's the one that got me started on fishing many years ago
Grease the bumpers and slide on in :) as you know they drive like that all the time in Los Angeles If only others would be considerate like us Mike. :)
I took Lisinopril for years, and it plays hell with my asthma. And now that we have these wildfires and smoke here in California, it's bad. Then with all the choking and trying to catch my breath, the clinic is afraid to see me, due to the Covid restrictions. If you have a cough, you have to reschedule your medical visit. (Even if it's the cough I'm there to get under control)
Hey MM Mike. Good to see you posting again. Don't always agree with you politically but respect your POV. Be safe out there on the highways and byways there bro.
We often take this way on our way to and from Reno, that Lake you said you wanted to fish since you were 5,there is a turn out to view it[there were some people there when you went past]has story boards,on it it tells of one opening weekend where 40 tons of trout were caught.Hugh Pakenham Australia

I really enjoyed this trip. Riding around in the country with someone who knows the area has always been a favorite with me.
God’s beautiful country. Thanks for sharing and taking us on this ride. I drove through Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and and Utah recently. Yes, they certainly do. For me, it's chronic pain, which has gotten some better since I started watching these videos.
Enjoyed the video, glad to see you back on. Was beginning to think you had quit recording. Have a blessed day and stay safe.
These videos reminds me of America the Beautiful.
Beautiful... For purple mountains majesties above the fruited plains!
From sea to shining sea.

395 from Ridgecrest to Carson is one of the greatest drives in the U.S. I've driven in every state but New Hampshire and it's in the top 10.
The guy that taught me to drive made me name off everything within my view of the roadside if I ever broke down I could tell authorities exactly where I was at.
I loved it like that and I still do that today at 76 I could tell you in a moment where I am on the hiway

I'm surprised you didn't call out ' Dead Man's Summit ' before the June Lake turnoff. I think it's around 8400 feet. Thanks for the lift.
