      Hi, I live in the Czech Republic in a small town like in your video. I like traditional architecture in Central Europe. Can I ask you one question? Is the situation in Belarus as bad as the media presents it to us? When I watch videos from the streets of Belarusian cities, I usually see beautiful and clean streets, repaired or maintained churches or houses. It doesn't suit me a bit in the picture of a dictator of an impoverished country as presented by the Western media. Thank you for any answer.

    • @StPetersburgme
      @StPetersburgme  3 года назад +4

      @@jansehnal177 From my point of view, it is true. When you have to save money to buy your children clothes, when groceries in your 12K population town cost almost the same as in Minsk, you know it doesn't really matter if your town is clean or not.

    This small town is so clean, that the negatives disappear. I think it's better than the average European town and that life there is peaceful. I m living in Greece and in the past I was living in Germany. I congratulate the people and the state for this extraordinary level of cleanliness. In my country there is a quote saying that the cleanliness is a title of Honor.

    Thank you for showing us the town! You're so kind! The town seems medium sized, not too small! Also, it is very quiet there, and didn't seem to have many people outside doing anything. Is that common for it to be so quiet with no people?
    Also, I totally understand what you're saying about the unrest. Perhaps English subtitles next time?

    I live in a port city in Canada. The population is somewhere around115,000 people. In history, this place was settled for fishèrmen in the cod fishery. I believe some fishing may still go on but there is a container pier here so much load and unload. Before the COVID pandemic, it was a stop for cruise ships in the summertime. St. John's Newfoundland is one of the oldest cities in Canada. The original settlers here back in the 1700's came predominantly from England and Ireland. Also, some Portuguese settled here. It is the farthest city on the east coast. There is some French ancestry on this island province as well, mostly on the southwest coast. Atlantic Canada as we know it today was fought for by the English and the French.

    I live outside of Ellensburg, Washington State in the countryside, west coast of US, just below Canada. 100 miles/160K east of Seattle, small town, slowly growing, irrigated desert, in the eastern foothills of the Cascade Mountains. I live in the "rain shadow" of the Cascades, only 10 inches/25cm of rain/snow, very dry. 35,000 when college is in session, 25,000 when college is out. Lots of hay farming, I live in the Country in an old farmhouse, my land is 5.2 hectares. We are fairly new here, we settled this area in the 1870's.

We live in New Zealand about 100m from the Whangarei harbor shore. Whangarei is the nearest town(called a city here) with a population of about 55,000. Though it seems like some protesters are seeking asylum from Belarus presently, I was wondering if you and your family are concerned for your own safety given the instability in the region? And if you can’t answer fro whatever reason(s) I’ll understand. So all I knew about Russian culture growing up is from her orthodox church, & we only went during Easter time when we visited relatives, & the time I went to Russia in 1990 on a student exchange trip. It was a little difficult to follow the English closed caption sub-titles, but that's not your fault and I completely understand why it was wise to speak Russian. I love the way in which the soldiers who died in WW2 are honoured here so personally and, being from UK which is so small and crowded, I'm always surprised at the sense of space in the streets of Russian cities. Who knows? One day when you make your fortune from RUclips, you will be able to return here to live and be closer to your parents! It's good to live somewhere where you feel you really belong! 👍🌸

      The subtitles were certainly out of sync although not without entertainment value. One memorable moment was when the video showed the cemetery and the captions stated it was the Town Council. It livened up a dreary day in Suffolk :)

    I did not catch the name of the town. I guess I failed the test. BTW, the town does look really nice. My town in Colorado has population of about 100 thousands, close to big city and the mountain, perfect place to live.

    This does not look like a small town but it may be a small city according to Canadian standards. I understood about 80% of your Russian.

    Though I prefer the countryside, I would live in this city. I live in a small city now, but I do not like my city.

    This was such an enjoyable tour of your town. It looks like a peaceful place to live. It may not have all of the attractions of a major city but it probably doesn't have all of the problems of a big city. I am glad that you are being careful about what you film and what you say. That is being smart and careful of your safety. It also protects your Mom and brother from any undo attention and possibly being bothered by the authorities. I lived in a "police state" in Asia for ten years and I never had any problems because I made sure not to do or say anything that was frowned upon by the government. Some of my compatriots felt that as Americans they could say or do what they wanted to and some of them were deported and a few were arrested! Total idiots 😱🤣 I watch some other Russian RUclips channels and it actually scares me when the person filming makes anti-government statements and criticizes their leaders. That is just asking for trouble. Thanks for this vlog today. Take care and have a pleasant weekend. 🤗❤🙏🌎

    Красиво, но если нет работы тогда нужен Петербург. Я из Ленинграда уехал в 1988, в Витебске бывал в конце 1970х. Now I live in New York City.
