how could you? unless you've been avoiding it intentionally it's plastered everywhere.
Super Metroid is hands down my favorite Nintendo game, the ambiance and the music pieces that go for each area you explore, plus the feeling of uncertainty you get when you first land on Zebes and make your way to the morph ball, then suddenly everything comes alive.
What also stands out is the otherworldly, alien movement/running of samus in super metroid. Unfortunately they made her move and feel more human.
@@dexplorelens7104 I certainly don't see the updating of the controls in Fusion and later games as a downside. The controls of Super felt very clumsy and imprecise for a number of reasons, and in later games the movement feels much tighter and more fluid, making the game much less frustrating and much more satisfying to play.
And before someone replies to this and says "No Super has the best controls in the series, you just have to get used to them!" Let me say that absolutely isn't true, at least for me. Yes, the game's movement is the most complex and momentum-based out of any game in the series, which allows for a higher skill cap and more advanced speedrunning tricks, but the janky, sluggish-feeling physics and mechanics of the controls make the game feel clunky and unsatisfying to play with in comparison to later games in the series, even after replaying it a number of times. Super Metroid's controls just aren't the greatest compared to modern platformers. They're not game-breakingly horrible, no, and in fact i still somewhat enjoy playing around with Samus's movements and abilities in spite of them, but they're still the biggest issue I have with the otherwise nigh-perfect game that Super Metroid is.
I've finish every Metroid game ever made and even though I'm a playstation owner and don't have a switch I of to get a switch for this one lol
I sure hope Prime 4 gets this kind of promotion
I can't wait to experience Dread on my 65" OLED and surround in a pitch black room!
Same. Also it will be nice to have a switch that has both speakers functioning.
I think handheld mode with headphones on, in the dark, under the blanket, will be the optimal experience.. a game at that resolution ain't gonna look the best stretched across a 65" OLED anyway.. :D
@@theSato 1080p looks excellent on it.
The last time I was as hyped for a game as I am Metroid Dread it was way back in the early 2000s when Metal Gear Solid 3 was about to release. Love the Prime games, but imo 2D is where Metroid really shines.
I don't get why the GF would've called on Samus to go to ZDR. After the end of Fusion, I feel like they'd never want her help again. In fact, I feel like they'd kinda want her dead. Hey, maybe that's why they sent her.
nah it was a rouge faction not GF as a whole
@@RetroNerdyGamer oh, I see. Was that stated in the game or somewhere else? I don't remember that
@@daizbid Japanese ver. of Fusion. Must've been lost in translation to English. Other M also states it iirc but yeah...
@@RetroNerdyGamer ok, gotcha. Thanks for the correction
@@daizbid No prob. I can understand how people (myself included) would think that.
No way! I don’t think we’ve ever had two Nintendo power podcast episodes so close together! :D
So happy the black sheep of the original triforce is getting this love.
so triforce as in Mario, Zelda and Metroid?
I love that description so much!
Aww, yesss!
@@kirin1230 Aww, yeah, me too!
@@jess648 yes sir.
This is going to be my first Method game I’ll ever play
that guy at the beginning sounds like the "The last Metroid is in captivity" guy in Super Metroid. Ik it's not the same person but yeah
it's funny though, the guy who did that line, Dan Owsen, was in the Treehouse gameplay group when they showed off the game at E3. full circle lol
I love this podcast I listen to it everytime I mow the yard
Aww, awesome!
Me everytime i want to sleep.
You should put these podcasts on Spotify. It'll be much easier for some of us to listen to it there!
They already are
The fact fact dedicated a whole hour to this makes me so happy! Nintendo cares!!
Well.. a bit over 42 minutes, not quite a whole hour.. but yeah!
Of course they do.
I was scrolling on the thumbnails to see when the video starts LOL
I'm loving the Metroid Zero Mission love. It's the most underrated gem in the series. I grew up on the original and the remake is perfection.
Great podcast! Ready for Metroid Dread to absolutely KILL it on all fronts when the game comes out!!
Also, on a different note, appreciated hearing a bit about Pilotwings haha. Classic series that was always super fun to just mess around and relax in--hope we get another one sometime!
"There's never been a Metroid game where you start with the Morph Ball" ahem, did you forget about Prime 2 and 3?
We need a $90 eshop card, but I want the picture to be a Image of Samus Aran from Metroid Dread.
Im happy to see metroid being recognizd
I got it preordered and its my first ever Metroid game
Im Hyped af
Having a blast right now marathoning the series in anticipation for this. Why did I sleep so long on Super Metroid?
Nice to come back to Dread promotional content after fully absorbing the game (50+ hours so far). I loved when Nate said, "that's what I play video games for." Dread is easily my favorite game of the year, and I think this is going to be one of my all time favorites.
I can't wait for Metroid Dread to be in my Nintendo Switch!! ^^
Happy Metroid Day!!! 🎉
Thanks Jesus for the Nintendo Power Podcast, I love it so much.
Man. I love this podcast so much
Metroid Fusion absolute banger
I wish they would bring back the magazines
I wish they talked about the prime series too :)
Gonna be my favorite game of all time no doubt!!
I can't wait I've already pre ordered it and also getting Nintendo switch oled the same release of new Metroid game.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎😎
episode 34 about metroid dread right? i'm thinking yes so far so good.
My first experience with Metroid 2 was AM2R...
They're really pulling all the stop for this game. I hope it works....
😬

Metroid Fusion was my first game at 8 years old. Ended up finally beating it when I was 12 or so 🤣 Nightmare scared me and caused me to rage quit so much. Went back as an adult and played through all of them in chronological order and Metroid is easily one of my top favorites in the Nintendo series. Even going as far as maining Samus in Smash Bros 🤣
STOKED!
Damn I got to this vid early. I'll say something funny if I remember to edit this
Edit: Nvm I got bored like 5 minutes in. Still love metroid though and Dread is building up to be a great game
One week left!!!
Would be great to have zero mission and fusion on the switch.
Just saying.
Imagine they remaster the first 4 games with dread graphics 🤤
Nintendo acknowledging Other M.
Hello samus
1:28 Nintendo acknowledged their 2010 failure of a video game
I love Nintendo power and I love Chris Slate but I wish these podcasts were a little less sterile and a little less like commercials.
Nintendo has a podcast? 😂
Yep, it's been around for almost three years now.
I guess the metroid prime games aren't cannon?
Could it be that in the not-too-distant future there will be the profession of game psychologist where the psychologist would identify the most ideal game for their gameplay?
Será que num futuro não distante havera a profissão psicologo de game onde o pscologo identificaria o jogo consideravel ideal para seu gameplay?

JESUS CHRIST RETURNS, REPENT OF SIN AND CHANGE YOUR WAY OF LIVING
Ok I’m already ahead of you but this is probably off putting lol
Inside voices, please. I don't think Jesus would approve of the yelling
People must repent and all buy Metroid Dread on launch day!!
