Thanks so much for sharing I am a high functioning autistic man & I am very passionate about music I am teaching myself how to play the keyboard 🎹 my father is a musician & so is my grandfather & that’s my dream to as for me I get inspired one way & another I get discourage I get my inspiration from seeing people with autism is passionate about music & playing instruments I don’t try and compare myself to them because we are all different people but I definitely feel inspired by these people & most of them do have a disability with autism all of these people I find on social media searching autistic musicians & they are out there young and old so I just have to keep being inspired & not be hard on myself
19:30 - reiterating what another person just said helps clarify what they really mean. This is an EXCELLENT technique for negotiations, debates, and even plain conversation.

You also motivated me to learn bass this year. I been wanting to learn bass since I learned guitar as a kid but couldn't convince my grandma to get me another guitar lol
Say no to crappy paying gigs. They COST you. First, your best hope is you break even after gas, expenses, etc. Second, it trains venues that this is OK and erodes the whole ecosystem. If GOOD people accept bad pay it erodes the value of live music altogether. Let the BAD bands have the crappy gigs, the places get what they pay for, then people will start thinking "Hmmm Dumpster Don's? last few bands I heard there have been terrible, Naaaaah."
