Crossover, + Cross and Stick Left and Right

  • This routine consists of the Crossover and the Cross and Stick. I do the first half leading with my right hand, and the second half I lead with my left, which is my dominant hand.
    There is nothing magical about 100 jumps, but that's how I designed this. There are 12 crossovers (24 jumps as each consists of two jumps, a cross and an un-crossing), and then 26 reps of the cross and stick. Those are performed leading with each hand, for a total of 100 jumps.
    I put a few recovery jumps in the middle, as I do lots of crossovers in my routines, and my ropes get kinks. The recovery jumps allow me to get the rope as even as possible before switching.
    Jumping in the heat is challenging, but hydration is key; and it does feel invigorating afterward.
    This freestyle is part of my HIIT routine, which I designed to mimic a hockey game - intense bursts (shifts) of 45 seconds to a minute, with short breaks in between. I typically do 15 routines, though sometimes more, sometimes less.

    Just found this. Totally awesome and great weather! We had the opposite. Rain for much of the day so far.

      Thanks for checking it out! I had to jump in rain the other day, and it makes the footwork difficult. It was still well into the 90's when I shot this, and humid. Oh, well, I'm used to it!
