The whole thing is giving me flashbacks about just a few years back when Medvedev was President & he met with Steve Jobs. Apple realized how important the Russian Market was, I agree with Russians that Apple made promises that were not kept with Regular Citizens. Their Contracts were not with some Government, they were with each individual person. They shouldn't have left and explained it this way. Did they refund customers for all of the Music & App Purchases ? Someone should make a documentary on this to look into it more. If Apple did the same thing to American Consumers, there would be a massive Class Action Lawsuit.

It's fair enough about those who don't want to be filmed. I assisted on filming an Ident for a Channel 4 series called Gimme Shelter which used the Royal Opera House back wall in London and there were those who, even though in a public place, didn't want to be filmed so it doesn't have to be a socio-political thing as you know.

I work alongside many people that need this constant stream of negative and conspiracy type content to fuel their day, usually about politricks(politics). Podcasts are especially popular and the more outlandish or hateful the better for them.

Glad to see you back, Sam. Your content is always genuine and interesting. Sanctions are meant to force countries into autarky in a globalized world. Most countries can't be self-sufficient, so this forces them to capitulate or suffer. That said, the Russian Federation is the richest country in resources in the world at roughly 75 trillion in value. At least on paper. Driving such a country into a state of autarky could make it stronger like the one interviewee stated. Time will tell. Russians aren't the only ones who have been dinged by the sanctions. Many European countries have also suffered, as you stated. The problem with forcing a wealthy country into autarky is they can provide for other countries resource-wise and there is never a guarantee this will not backfire when allegiances begin wavering, especially in the Global South. India and Mexico failed miserably deploying autarky back in the 1960's, 1970's, and 1980's, but that doesn't mean Russia will fail. What those decades didn't allow India and Mexico to do was create effectively within due to brain drain migration, a lack of high-levels of education and internal or regional investment. They were forced into the global system to flourish. It has worked out well for both countries as each is now at 3.5 trillion and 1.3 trillion in GDP respectively. In fact, India is the richest country in The Commonwealth now. So, Russia has weathered many storms in its history, from the fall of the Tsarist regime to the Bolshevik Revolution, World Wars I and II, the fall of the Soviet Union, economic liberalization known as shock therapy in the 1990s, internal strife, a new constitution in 1993, and a rebuild into a country with a 1.8 trillion dollar GDP in 2023. I wouldn't bet against any ancient culture that has survived much worse. What a weird world we live in. What is happening seems biblical, and if it is, I hurt that there are many of my Christian brothers and sisters that I am supposed to hate geopolitically because they live in this country or that country. Truly unfortunate. For the record, I hate no one in the world. Life is too short for that misery. Peace. Mir.

Hi mate, sanctions would be fair if they were imposed on any country as a punishment for breaking a world law! But one country controls who gets sanctioned and so they do the sanctioning and tell everyone else to fall in line! The Europeans especially need to learn to do what’s best for themselves. They just blindly agree with the sanctioners are it ends up hurting themselves.

The talkative guy was very positive and saw things the right way round. There was an idea in the west that the folk that ferried astronauts on their rockets to the space station would struggle to make a hamburger. I wasn't one that subscribed to that point of view and was quickly vindicated when the Russian central bank came up with a "swift" alternative to the banking isolation. Okay! But then he wanted to negotiated with us. We wanted to show the true face of Russians. So we accepted his offer and we also told him we won't stop the action in the west territory while we occupied our home provinces back. He accepted the deal but still sent units to stop us from liberate our provinces. So we told him that we will use power to force him to "cooperate" and finally defeat him.

It sounds like you've listened to too much of EU politics, what is the limit of domestic market? We get everything we want by the parallel import and export a lot too, there's no "moment in the future" when sanctions would "finally hit" when we trade with other countries and shortages that actually were there for some time were dealt with.

@@melodi996 Ordinary people don't need to use precision electronic components, chips...etc. That's why you are indifferent to sanctions.
Did you know that Russian tank manufacturers were unable to build T-90 tanks due to a lack of Western electronic components?

I was walking along a back road when two bunnies suddenly leapt into the air and landed one on top of the other. To my astonishment, I saw that one had pushed the other onto a stout groundhog.
In disgust, he lifted his nose with a grunt and a distinct snarl, as if to say, "These rabbits nowadays! What do they teach their children?" After the startled and likely embarrassed bunnies scuttled away, the groundhog stayed in the same position for a few moments before waddling off, still in a huff. I'll never forget that woodchuck's shocked face!
