Thanks for the tutorial, I’m doing this piece for my Grade 6.😊
really helpful Julian, thankyou
J’adore ce morceau. Merci pour le tuto.
Je suis d'accord. Merci d'être passer.
This was so helpful thank you so much😊😊
You're very welcome, glad it was helpful.
i was delighted to hear this tutorial and to be signposted to Alicia Laroccha’s recording of this suite of waltzes. i have been learning these pieces over recent months and would be really keen to hear your guidance on tackling the faster ones eg the intro and the 7th waltz. I am a ‘mature’ learner and find it really challenging to just get around the keyboard fast enough (or am I just making age an excuse?!)
Thanks for the tutorial! Do you think we should use pedal?
Definitely
Hello, I have a question about the pedal too...use of the pedal is not indicated on the music and there is nothing in the notes about using it either, but you advise paying with the pedal and it sounds way better. I'm worried that I might loose marks in the exam if I use the pedal when it is not asked for, or is that sort of thing allowed? Its a really helpful tutorial thank you.
Ah yes, pedal indications are often not included, especially in 19th-century piano music, but the pedal is nonetheless expected to be used. And sometimes a simple 'Con ped.' is all we get.
Thank you for the tutorial, I’ll be doing this piece for my grade 6 exam. But I have a question, do you think I should use pedal because it’s not written on there but it sounds a bit choppy if I’m not using pedal.😢thank you
Did you use the pedal in the end?
Hi I do have 1 question as I am learning this piece for my grade 6 from the 2023-2024 syallbus: Do you play this piece with or without pedal?
Because this piece is romantic and it needs to be played with pedal, so if I dont play it with pedal, is it wrong?
Can give me advice? Thank you!
Ooh yes, definitely needs pedal. Best wishes for the G6
Where to press and release the pedal?
@@limliangxuan1909 mostly where the chord changes. where there are lots of notes, either change pedal v frequently or leave it out for a bit :)
thanks for the tutorial :) will you be able to give one for Prelude in C sharp minor (Stephen Heller) too? Im picked that piece for ABRSM G6 as well.
The house is in chaos! The builders are in, but once I get straight, yes, I'd love to. Thanks for the great suggestion.
I'm also a very mature learner and have appreciated your tutorials. Would you be able to make another one for Jazz Exercise No.2 by Oscar Peterson?
Yes, that's in the pipeline. There's already a backing track for Jaxx Exercise No.2 for subscribers on the website www.julianlambert.org
While watching and thinking how great this tutorial is, I noticed one typo - left hand 6th bar the chord is accidentally standing a third too high. It's D major instead of b minor.
Bar 22, the same octave higher.
Ah, thanks for this Maira. We'll spotted. I'll correct the score.
