Dude I feel your pain I am opening a retro collectible / game shop in the UK right now as I type this and its a nightmare but I can't wait because it's also the dream.

You should add some lighting to your booth and maybe some retro posters to cover some of the bare walls, aside from that great inventory and very well organized, peeked my interest with those MASS EFFECT BOOKS
Yeah the booth is still a work in progress we make upgrades every month. The lighting is a tough one though cause we don't really have any control over it. For the wall my hope is to fill it with pegboard and put up some pegboard shelving to fill with inventory
@@RetroWolf88 Yes, I like the variety you include in your booth, and looks like inventory that will move too if you can get the right people in there.
Retro Rick needs to have his own booth at one of the flea markets close to his store that he’s visited before (filled with the things from his storage units). His store is kind of full, but he’s rearranged it a ton to make it more inviting.
My wife and I use to have a booth at a set up like this. We did real good. Only negative side was theft. Even though there were cameras - stuff was coming up missing all the time. Best of luck! I go through Tunnel Hill serveral times a year. I will stop and check it out.
Yeah theft is an unfortunate side effect for this. So far I have not noticed anything missing thankfully
I wish we had a antique mall / flea market like that here. If we did i'd be set up there myself. We've never had a place like that here .... we've had something a long ten same lines but small and nowhere near the same quality as that. That's a pretty awesome vendor mall and also a great booth too.

I have noticed a trend where I live that the antique shops are really seeing more and more booths with Toys & Video Games than ever before.

I had a retail shop last year that ultimately just got overwhelmed with overhead and we shut down. Stepping back, we reorganized and opened a booth in a local market in NW Florida. We’ve been at it since September and it has really been more efficient than our store, save some minor difficulties because we’re not present in the booth day to day. We started out in 1 booth and got up to 4 until a big booth became available and it’s a more cohesive collection of anime, games, movies and the like. Best of luck on your booth adventure and I’ll have to check it out next time I’m heading to Atlanta later this year!

I do the same thing. In the Foundry in Jacksonville NC. Word of advise, invest in good locking cases and cameras. Had a problem with theft for a little while.
Thankfully theft is not much of an issue there since there are cameras and employees. But I don't sell anything pricey at the booth, if I ever do I will put in a glass case
@@RetroWolf88 yea, you'll come to find out people are always wanting to buy Mario and Pokemon games. I started off small too but demand picks up after a while. I do well with systems and the more popular titles. Good luck buddy. I'll be selling at Game Jam South. I'll see you there hopefully

Mat I wish you the best of luck man! Booth looks great! Wide variety! I thought about doing the same thing at my local antique's place, but I don't trust the old ladies who run it to be able to stop theft. So I'm thinking against it.
If you do I'd recommend not selling anything expensive unless you have a lockable glass case in the booth

Nice booth man! Glad to hear you’re having success with it. Definitely wise to price everything under eBay and incentivize people to buy from you instead. I frequent a couple of different antique malls and see the *same stuff* at the same booths every time I go because it’s all overpriced. It’s cool stuff, just way cheaper online. No idea how these guys make ANY money 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah it makes no sense to me why these people price stuff so high, you can't move inventory and generate revenue by doing that

how do you prevent theft? im guessing no one is there watching the booth and people could easily take stuff out of their bag and put it in their pockets
There are cameras and plenty of employees in the building working. So theft isn't much of an issue

There are plenty of cameras and employees to discourage theft. Plus these games aren't really valuable enough to be worth stealing

A large portion of my audience grew up after floppy discs were no longer a thing so you'd be surprised

I thought it was quite interesting to see. I flip games as a side hustle and have always wondered if it would be worth it to do something like this. It was cool that he was transparent and talked about the costs.
