I want to like Arco Linux, but it doesn't run Musescore well for me. It keeps closing out when I import a MIDI file. Since I arrange and compose MIDI songs, and like the notation software on MuseScore, it doesn't help using a distro that doesn't like running it. So far, Fedora has worked out best. I currently use a basic version of Hyprland. Fedora has a dnf package, and BPMs are fairly easy to install with the right packages. Fedora seems to have responded to the speed issue of dnf, as it seems a lot faster than I remember on 38. Tried 40, and it's amazing. Will likely move over to it when they officially launch it. I reverted to 39 because I thought I botched the Hyprland install. Probably a good thing, since it was stated there was a vulnerability issue that effected 40. So yeah, 39 is my choice for now. I hadn't heard about the Audacity issues you mentioned regarding it turning into proprietary spyware. Can you do a video on the details? Or, point me toward more info?
Would be fantastic to have a bootstrap script to configure the system and load you dotfiles
if you put all your dotfiles into the "Personal" folder in your home directory you just have to use the "personal " command in the terminal and it will install your personal configs, overwriting the pre-configured files.
Hi I have a Brother Printer, How hard woll it be to install in Ardour?
I need an Arco Linux based on ubuntu cause I am not too familiar with arch terminal commands don't know how different they are if at all.
They aren’t …
Like
The package manager is different ….
@@AnthonyR007 yeah I just checked it, I am actually pretty good at ubuntu commands but not too familiar with the pacman thing 😅
I think I'm going for pop OS or Zorin next
@@davidcalebpaterson7101 It's the same command, just use pacman instead of apt.
Have you tried the Archinstall script? I think it's pretty cool, and it makes the installation of arch almost as easy as the derivitives.
I've tried window managers. But I couldn't get the hang of i3 and went back to bouncing between cinnamon, mate, and xfce
Awesome review! Thanks
Clearly it doesn't have the Sway WM.
Is there a window manager which change color scheme dinamically according to a given time?
Hey guys, new to Linux & after so much research I decided to try arco on a VM, I went through the install process but at the end when I try to reboot it throws me back to the live user, can anyone help?
I've installed the beta version of ArcoL iso and it has a problem with default options, if you choose another kernel rather than the default, it won't boot the same with the sddm.
The calamares installer doesn't work on my machine. It doesn't let me pick any software.None of it gets installed. It gives you the option and doesn't work.On any machine. It just installs sddm and Default on dwm or i3.
just where do i download it bro i already had it but now the downloads are just nearly undiciferable
Hello. Tell me please author(Unfortunatelly don't know your name) what does mean boot Arcolinux is it boot live Media or installation mode only? Some days ago I read that there is in the linux exist all wm as exist but is it here is Tiny WM the tinyest WM for linux?
why cant i find the iso easily on their website
I'm using Garuda right now, like it better than Manjaro but if Garuda needs to be blown out if I mess something up maybe I'll try Arco.
Dt says that Xmonad is complicated, and I'm sure it is, but since they have everything configured on Arco including the polybar, and the conky having the key bindings, wouldn't that make Xmonad easy?
I don't understand this. You choose what to istall, but when installed it also installed things you didn't choose to install!?
I love the os has the fastest boot using hdd boots in 30 second lightweight and quite easy although there might have some fullscreen problem when panel and plank is still apeared on fullscreen like in minecraft
Do you have a top choice for audio editing?
Fluxbox and blackbox are missing!
DT I have recently installed a distro called ALT linux (SLinux) edition xfce. It works pretty smooth. Hope this is something interests you.
When I was using Windows & I was thinking to learn linux
I'm using linux now & I'm thinking to learn linux
It seems close to rivaling Arco for installation and ease of use.
Hi, I am new to the linux world, I have been using linux mint for like a month now I installed arco linux but it feels slower than mint and a little laggy anyway to fix it?
What window manager are you using in the actuallity?
Just tried ArcoLinux with Gnome desktop. Alt+Tab doesn't work at all. From the start... How is this a stable linux and a distro to recommend.
Ok but arch is so unstable. I dont wanna always check if i can update and if not i can break my system so fast...
it's not unstable, don't believe the fairy tails!
@@DCM777. Yeah it's stable sort of but maintaining it will eventually break your system if you dont know what you are doing. Arch will break, it's not if but when.

Can we install utilities and other program later after arco installation?
Only reason I like Arco because it doesn't say unable to connect to WiFi "unlike for me at least are stock arch, manjaro, atrix, nixos I need to use usb threading to make it work
Only problem I'm having, with any distro, is.. After installation, with Nvidia driver, my desktop is huge. I get half the taskbar, at the bottom of screen. I believe it's something with the Nvidia driver as it doesn't do it when I use the generic driver. My monitor is a 49" lg 49lj550m 1080p television. can somebody help?
Where is the KDE window manager?
Hey DT i installed Arco Linux and in dwm it says something about Vivaldi is Vivaldi standard browser? If so why use propraritary software and not free and open source software like Firefox,Brave or Chromium?
is XMoned is Good in Game Dev and unreal engine and Blender ?
i have Nvidia
Man you make my live easy thank you alot
Its true that Erik is a really nice and very competent guy, but i think arch has become very easy to start from the base iso and install step by step only what you need and nothing more;)
But it is true that for those who do not want to bother, this is certainly the best solution.
Arch is still a pain in the ass to install.
Thanx to Eric dubois and all the people behind Arco .
