I feel like maps like this need to start each round with "Here's your free hint" and not "Use as few hints as possible." You need something to go off of or else it's just "Read the map creator's mind on what specific difference it is that they were looking for, and not all the other ones that could be thought of."
map maker here: yea after i saw the video i was thinking the same thing, its just way harder to make options without you instantly knowing the answer, expecialy if you have played minecraft for a long time and know most things in the game.
I'm gonna create a map, where all your answers are correct as long as you justify it.
New idea: the map gives you 4 different things and tells you which one doesn't belong, and you have to figure out why it doesn't belong. It could be multiple choice, or maybe you're given a big list of possible reasons and you have to correctly select all correct reasons why it doesn't belong.

@@SemGamerNL maybe a "think outside of the box" rating? these three are items but this one is a block? rating 1. or like with a lineup of apple, bamboo, chicken, lava, end stone, answer being lava because the letter it starts with isn't in the lineup position corresponding to its number in the alphabet, that right there is getting a 10 on the bullshort scale lmao
maybe even get funky with it and have the lineup be the building blocks for the room apart from one, have that be the answer and you are literally thinking outside the box of displayed items for a max score on the OKAY WHAT NO scale
Someone should make a map like this where every answer is correct, but nobody tells Jardon so he just thinks he's a genius
This sounds honestly pretty tricky to make. You would need 4 options that are similar enough but also each of them needs a distinct difference.
Very much possible but will probably need much brain power lol
With that, you can make a map that always force you to pick the last one as the correct answer.
And have the most convoluted reasons as to why it is.

These maps are always better with the hints than without. With the hints, it's actual deduction. Without them, it's just an attempt at mind reading.

Every time I see one of these I get inspired to make a map like this where all the differences are obscure trolls but then I remember that's already every one of these maps.

Even worse troll: there are (at least) 2 answers to any problem, and whichever you guess 1st, the map says it's the other one.

Part of the fun in these types of videos is seeing Jardon slowly descend into madness from what others would know to be as the "obvious" answer to the questions.
He’s malding already from the hay bale, and it’s not even 10% of the video yet.
There are so many that I got right for the entirely wrong reason. I thought the first one was "you can make tools out of all but redstone" and it would have been correct

can we just introduce a policy of using a hint every round please? the original maps always told you what direction to think in instead of just slapping 4 blocks in your face and being like "figure it out?" these newer maps are unbelievably frustrating. While that's fun to watch, I also like to play along in my head while jardon plays these...

This map is a lot better than most other What Doesn't Belong. Too commonly the answer is 'This is the only one that does X' instead of 'This is the only one that doesn't X'. Here, the 3 incorrect answers have something in common instead of being 3 randoms. I feel like Jardon was used to how other maps do it and it made a lot of the questions harder (like the final question with the items)

@@SemGamerNL Great map! This was a breath of fresh air from the many other bad What Doesn't Belong maps. It's definitely not perfect, and there were times where there were multiple common threads between different blocks, BUT at least the answers weren't based on a unique trait of one block.
Other bad maps have ruined the thought process for these kinds of maps because people will think "What's the unique thing?" rather than "What's the common thread?"
For future mapmakers, I think "affirmative" commonalities are better, more satisfying, and logical, than "negative" commonalities:

Affirmative: "These 3 things CAN do this. While this one CAN'T"
(Ex. - "These 3 mobs CAN be leashed. While this one CAN'T")
Negative: "These 3 things CAN'T do this. While this one CAN"
(Ex. - "These 3 blocks CAN'T emit light. While this one CAN")
My favorite was the rider question in the mob section. Because once the player realizes all the mobs can have riders, then that is a GREAT subtle hint to the player to think "Hey, maybe I should think about the riders."
Also, maybe refrain from name-based answers, and focus more on the actual functionalities of the blocks/items/mobs, because the latter rewards the player's game knowledge.
And also probably refrain from very obvious answers, like block color, because it underestimates the capability of the player.
Like Jardoon said, subtle but logical common threads are the best "Aha!" moments.
@@SemGamerNLyeah the map was much much better than previous ones. captain is used to the other maps being 1 is this and not these 3 are this and 1 is not.

16:32 Unfortunately the map maker is incorrect as lapis blocks can be found in woodland mansions HOWEVER i think the answer should still be lapis block because all of them can be found in an ocean ruin except that
For the "crafting recipe requires a blaze powder" - it can't just be "cannot be crafted" since Slime Balls _can_ be crafted - by deconstructing slime blocks

man I love these maps lmao. obviously they are so difficult and “unfair” because we don’t know what kind of “difference” they are going for but its fun to hear your logic in what you are going to choose because of that
Regarding the lapis block one, I think the map maker meant to put that the lapis block is the only one that can't be found in ocean ruins but just accidentally wrote "structures" instead (maybe got their wires crossed a bit since "structures" was the hint)
While that would make sense Ocean Ruins don't have purple gazed terracotta

well i know of a specific block that can fit in somewhere special 😏
That could be an interesting concept for a map actually. Like a map that shows several blocks where three of them always shared a mechanic or something in common and the last finally does due to an update adding it as a feature. Like an extremely easy one is bamboo and three other wood types. Bamboo only recently got the feature of creating wooden items like doors and chests, so now it finally fits in. I have no clue if there are enough updates changing blocks and mobs to make a full map, but maybe a section to a what doesn’t fit in map.
I am still baffled that Jardon doesn’t know that dolphins are neutral and are not passive.
Someday I wish someone will make a map where all the choices are technically answers so you actually can't fail.

Fun fact: nether wart is the only item credited for only being found in the nether fortress. It can also be located inside some variants of the bastion remnant.

I feel like you and Hbomb need to do one of these maps together one day. He seems to have all of the obscure Minecraft knowledge
tip for these kinda maps: the answer is usually something that doesn't share a feature that the others do (ex: all blocks except block a share some characteristic b). It's not usually something where the one that doesn't belong has a feature that the others don't (ex: block a is the only that has some feature b). Jardon understandably likes to think in the second way, but the answer is usually the first. Otherwise there could literally be infinite arguments for why something doesn't belong.

yeah, I've been trying to tell him this for ages but the issue is he got swindled by so many other maps which unfortunately use the second approach - one block/item does something that the others don't which as you said is counter intuitive - so now his mind seems to always think the wrong way first...

Yes Jardon, when you hit a dolphin they attack. I found out the hard way while fighting a drowned. Needless to say it didn't go well.

I mean, personally I've never seen it actually happen. I've hit a dolphin before and it didn't fight back. I know about the mechanic in theory, but I've seen it used for trivia maps more than I've seen it in actual gameplay
There's honestly no reason to hit a dolphin as they're beneficial, so it's easy to go your whole life without aggroing a dolphin. I also never knew about this.
This fame is about finding the exception.
In every solution that what it says: all can X except Y.
Jardon keeps guessing "the only one that can do Z" and yeah it's wrong. That's not all the game work.

In a lot of that you seemed to have the mindset of what does the item have, that the others don't. But like it's really the opposite, you're trying to find what they have in common that this one doesn't. (I mean I'm not saying I'd have done better, just... you know... XD)
Frog eats other mobs, poops light. Chicken provides food. Spider climbs vertical walls, zombie is 2 blocks tall.
Would love to see someone make a map that is all the questions from different maps that Jordan has said that's a right answer just not the right answer. Then seeing if he can remember all answers he gave previously

I figured out the blast furnace was dimmer by looking at the ground in front of each light source, the ground was dimmer.
I love that with a lot of these, he came to the correct answer but through the wrong reason. 🤣 (granted I did the same thing for a few too) This map is wild.

I guess the emerald amongst the trading blocks, but my reasoning was that you can't make ore, it has to be found
Gonna start my own edited comment of my thoughts during each one where I had my own choice about what it could be:
4:00 my immediate conclusion was it could be that the lamp is the only one of those rest one blocks that doesn’t make any noise when activated! And it stands out to me personally from the others but I’m not sure why, it’s just a very different block to me where all it seems to do is light up if powered, but hardly affects anything when it does. YOOO I was right on my first instinct!
20:24 I’m thinking glass is the only transparent one. Or also just what the vid said, doesn’t drop anything without silk touch!
27:54 red netherbrick the only one that doesn’t spawn naturally or in a structure? Mud brick is in the trail ruins now I believe so that makes everything else there naturally spawning but red netherbrick
40:12 after the hunt, polar bear doesn’t drop anything craftable. And everything there has farms for their drops but the bear
43:53 spitballing, spiders are the only ones that spawn naturally with an effect (like in hard mode they can be invis or have speed ect.) drops! So everything but the frog have drops that are edible, frogs also don’t drop yeah but even the slime or frog light stuff from them eating can’t be consumed by a player. Either way frog is the outlier for multiple possibilities!
These maps are always simultaneously under thinking and overthinking each question and you never know which you are doing
I'm like 99% sure you can craft slimeballs.
Unless I'm going crazy, one slime block can be crafted into 9 slimeballs.
Cacite wasn't quite correct it is most natural blocks can be pick up, but it also can't pick up player crafted blocks or our builds would be taken apart block by block!

The lapis one not found in structures is really infuriating, it is 100% found in woodland mansions, I believe an emerald block is the only ore block not found naturally.
It was the creator's own mishap for forgetting about it being in woodland mansions.
The one with about 10 choices was a bit unfair. Dispite it didn't give you a hint but when you pressed the hint button, it still counted towards your hint counter
I'm confused on the part where it said all can't be tamed but the ocelot, yet they all can be tamed 😂

Frog is the only one that doesn't drop an item when killed. It's also not an og mob. Probably the most obvious answer, hence why it's not going to be it.
Chicken is the only one that drops items periodically.
Spider is the only one that doesn't have a baby version (I'm counting tadpoles as baby frogs). (would be my guess)
Zombie is the only that that's fully hostile.

Knowing the game's mechanics, I'd probably say the answer in the thumbnail is probably the zombie because it's the only 2 block tall mob, but it could also be the spider for an entirely unrelated reason to mechanics- it's the only one with more than 4 limbs and more than 2 eyes

Jardoon keeps flipping the logic. Instead think the phrase: “All of these items have ________ in common except _______.” Every item is going to have something unique or they’d literally be the same item. So, thinking “what’s different” will almost always lead you down the wrong path. Find what’s in common. 😅

They should add centipedes to Minecraft
The problem with these maps is the creator's flawed logic. They go "this is the only mob/item that does this/have this property" bro almost everything in the game has some unique property. The logic should be "this is the only thing that DOESN'T do this/have this but all the others DO.
this map is actually one of the few that does it right... the answer is usually "All blocks/mobs can do X except Y". The issue this time was not the mapmaker, but Jordan's flawed thinking, which for some reason he's always thinking what can each block/mob do individually instead of looking for common things between them...
@@iBigMacPT Except it still fails because there are multiple occasions where that same "logic" applies and in turn you get the answer wrong.
@@Buglin_Burger7878 well, in my opinion it doesn’t fail. There may have been one or two instances where there were multiple things possible in common, but for the most part the answers made perfect sense and were the main thing in common (not so obscure)
typo with the packed ice one - it was "1.8" not "1.18" for the other blocks
Diorite, red sandstone and primarine bricks were all added way before 1.18, I have no clue what this map is talking about.
