- Rehearsal on Groove Industries Cajon drum Kit with the Urban Jazz Trio, recorded with my iPhone.
Played by Raoul Roosenstein.
Perfect mini cajon drum kit for acoustic settings, rehearsals, street gigs or just for fun. Easy to transport and it sounds really cool. Easy to extend with HiHAt, cymbals, percussion, etc. Suitable for regular bass drum pedal with soft cajon beater.
Designed and built by drummer Raoul Roosensenstein. Please check my website for more info. www.grooveindustries.nl
Urban Jazz Trio:

So smooth and relaxing!
Great musicianship, especially the way the drummer follows the instrumentalists. Very mature and developed.
I think the drummer is an instrumentalist as well, laying down the beat which the others follow
Great sound
Sounds good fellas

Smooooooth
Wait is this a jazz version of still haven’t found what I’m looking for by U2?? So cool
😍
Damn, what a groove. Are you guys on spotify?
🤔🇧🇷👍
Lovely ensemble! I also really like the cajón set, although I find it a little inconvenient to not use the cajón as a seat. Seating on it -as it is typically done- gives access to more timbres and saves space. The problem is that that requires a special pedal (don’t know how good the ones on the market are) and a different stand to hold the snare box -the hi hat, perhaps? I really like this configuration and, at the same time, I feel I’d not be properly taking advantage of the cajón 🤔
Seated Cajon pedals are a fickle beast. I haven’t tried the $350 DW pedal yet, which seems to be the best. I tried a cable system and it stunk, and now just use a bracket to mount a regular pedal like the guy above. Bonus: as it turns out, thrones are way more comfortable than a Cajon anyway ;) but there are options out there, just don’t bother with cable drive.
@@NickWeissMusic yes, everybody seems to have trouble with cable pedals. As far as I know, the best option would be a De Gregorio Cajon pedal (expensive at Guitar Center and other American vendors, but cheaper at Thomann - it seems Europeans are ahead in “cajon technology”!). Thomann also sells a similar pedal branded Millenium, if I’m remembering well, that is less expensive.
Sounds amazing. How can you please send it to me in India?
Hi Thanks! Visit my www.grooveindustries.nl We ship worldwide.
What brushes were used?
What kind of snare is that? I like the sound. Subtle low tone with good response to action.
You can visit www.grooveindustries.nl for more info. Thanks!
So taste full… what hihat/cymbal are you using? Thanks!
Thanks! Cymbals: Hihats are just cheap crappy Stagg 12" hats. They used to sound terrible but I drilled holes in it. It turned out pretty well especially within this concept. The other one is a Zildjian 17' Z dark custom crash. It was broken (cracks), drilled holes to give the cymbal a second life. There are a lot of effect cymbals out there, Im sure you can find something similar.
What are you using as the snare drum?
For more info about the snare visit www.grooveindustries.nl
What cymbals?
Very cheap Stagg hihats 12 inch, I drilled holes in it myself and it sounds much better:-) on top a Meinl beatring. Second cymbal is a Zildjian K dark crash 17 inch which was broken, I drilled holes to make it sounds like an effect cymbal and gave it a second life which turned out pretty well.

Thanks!
