Jonathan Roumie's portrayal brings Jesus Christ and His humanity...God's love for us, to life in a way I have not seen in other gospel movies/shows; and what blesses Him most is our faith. Brilliant acting by woman in this scene. When Jesus stands up for her and says "She is clean", the look on her face when somebody finally stands up for her is incredible.
We must not confuse the portrayal with the person. In my own mind that's probably how Jesus may have acted day to day. But the how is beyond our wildest imagination.
I only just noticed now when the woman said he heard that she can be healed from the man at the pool. The look that Jesus gave to Zee (Simon #2) and the look Zee had was only a fraction of a second, but it spoke so much. 😯 Great scene!

This is why soooo many pastors have a negative reflex to condemn the series - they are threatened by all the emotions; BUT "you shall worship the Father in truth (mind, fleeing sins) and Spirit (heart, love)"

I think it was more than that. He knew him from the scriptures that prophesied about the works the Messiah would do proving that he was indeed the Saviour of the world. Can't wait to meet him! I know him too.

The story of Jairus' daughter in the Gospels of Mark and Luke always had me wondering what were the nuances of the original-language word He used to address her, but it was one of those topics that often gets lost among the weightier issues one studies. Mark gives us the Aramaic words _talitha cumi_ (also sometimes spelled in English as _talita qumi),_ and various translations will render _talita_ as 'damsel' or 'maiden' or some such, awkward-sounding to our modern ears. And some even say 'little girl' or 'child'. But this scene prompted me to look it up, since here the script has Him saying 'little lamb'. I learned that it was an Aramaic word that was used to address a young girl, sometimes a rarely-used name, but also a term of endearment, with its linguistic roots in a Syrian word for lamb. And such a beautiful way to address her, as someone who loves her actually waking her from a normal night's sleep. It's something we might say when rousing a beloved little daughter ("Get up, little lamb.") We would hardly guess from this gentle tone of voice, quite likely similar to the one the real Jesus actually used (at least, I'd like to think so) that what we are in fact witnessing is the Creator of all existence, Who laid the foundations of the world, the One that put her beautiful spirit into her body the first time, that He was commanding it to come back and inhabit its earthly temple again. Such a powerful lesson to all those present, and to all of us who get to read about it in His Word, and see it portrayed with such artistry here. He Who has the power over life and death, really does love us, and wants the best for us. And for those who doubt, who ask why does He allow death in the first place? Death wasn't His fault, it was ours, through our sin. He came to correct our error and graciously give us life! Because He created us, not to die, but to live with Him forever! How do I know? Many reasons. But most assuredly one of those reasons, was Him speaking to this man's poor, dead child with a term like 'little lamb'. Like Someone who really loved her. After being in the Lukewarm Church for 50 years, I assumed that I was saved because I said a prayer and I was baptized...But clearly I was a hypocrite because my life has Willful sin, so I rarely ever saw answered prayers in my life. Then 6 years ago I found out that it Only takes 1 Day to Lsten to the N.T. Bible. The Truth Set Me Free in 1 Day!!! Now I read my Bible cover to cever every month, and I warn people to read The Word for themselves and STOP trusting in a Pastor's interpretation. I finally had faith (w/o doubting) knowing that Jesus could completely heal My Mind Body Soul and Spirit, and Her did on Aug 10, 2017! I prayed for Jesus to heal me of breast cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, etc and by the 2nd or 3rd appointments the disease was gone! ❤ When we put our Faith in a Doctor, who prescribe medications which w/o exception is a Demonic Spirit of Pharmakeia!! So if God chose not to heal me, I would rather suffer in pain until I died, then to willfully open the door to let Demonic Spirits in! In 6 years as a "True" Believer, I have Never Once experienced: anger, guilt, shame, insecurity, fear, perverted thoughts, alcohol, depression, jealousy, worry, suicidal thoughts, lying, bad language, pride, doubts, unforgiveness, complaining, etc... etc... When Satan shoots an arrow, I simply Pray and takes that thought Captive by making it Obedient to Christ; so within 5 seconds I have complete Victory!

I've always considered myself a Christian but I've never really been a church going person. My relationship with God has come and gone all my life. Events in my life would shake my belief and then something else would happen that would cause me to look to God for comfort and wisdom. It's been like that for probably the last 20 years or so. I was baptised and taken to church as a young boy,... but later on in my rebellious adolescent years and as a young adult, I thought the concept of God and going to church was "outdated" and no longer held any meaning for me. Some days I'd believe, and some days I didn't. Pretty much a Christian in name only, the typical American who celebrates Christmas and Easter holidays but hasn't been to a church service in years nor really prayed much and only knows a few bible verses. This series has started changing that for me. Jonathan Roumie's portrayal is simply awe-inspiring. It's utterly captivating, and it lines up perfectly with how I've always imagined Jesus to be, if I were to have actually been alive during the time of His ministry on earth. Watching The Chosen has stirred something within me, and it's caused a renewal in my faith, with the goal of becoming a better person. It's easy to lose yourself in the hustle & bustle of the modern world. With how things are these days in society. All the political nonsense. How divided we are as a society on certain things. I'm not the type of person to preach my beliefs on others, I think free will is a beautiful thing and it's up to each individual person to determine what they want and believe...but I cannot recommend this show enough. It is incredibly powerful if you open your heart to it's message. Dallas Jenkins has truly done something wonderful here, and I think this series is going to be responsible for renewing a lot of people's faith and it's going to bring the Good Word to a lot of people who maybe didn't think they needed it in their life, but discover that they did all along.

The love & compassion seen in the face of Jesus is so very touching in both scenes. The Chosen has chosen its film stars wisely. I have been watching films concerning Jesus's life and not one of them can compare to the one The Chosen chose for their portrayal of Jesus Christ.
Oh my gosh Joyce, more true words have never been spoken♥️♥️ the Lord is working in and through every one of these wonderful actors! And I couldn't agree more as to the choice of Jonathan Roumie for the life of Christ!!! But when you think about it, God knows what he's doing, and he knew that the show would be impactful across the globe, and that each character, that the men and women who know and don't know who He is... the great I Am..God who sees me...♥️ would either accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior or the faith of every believer would be stirred, deepened.
What has been so profound for me is how angel studios has successfully done what no one has done before and I've seen all the movies . They have put God's purpose in sending his only son under the microscope, so that it would be crystal clear for all of us! Jonathan Roumie has given us a glimpse of the deep tenderness and unabashed unapologetic. Love the God has for each of us, and reminded us that God seeks an intimate relationship with us. Wow.

I believe with all my heart the verse in Acts when Peter witnesses to Cornelius and he is filled with the Holy Spirit, Peter says, "only believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, YOU, AND YOUR WHOLE HOUSEHOLD! What does that mean? Your household? When I was baptized in the fire, just by carrying that Spirit home with me, my 5 children were all filled, as was my wife. This is the real secret of evangelism. Live a consecrated life filled with the Joy that passes all understanding and we will release Holy Heaven on Earth (some times known as the hounds of Heaven).

My heart breaks a little bit when Jairus is told his daughter has died. He believed he had failed his daughter. I can’t think of no greater pain for a parent.
Jesus is so compassionate with the love of the father and is touch by the feelings of our infirmities that He is willing to heal all that come to Him with faith that God is for you and not against you.

The story of Jairus' daughter in the Gospels of Mark and Luke always had me wondering what were the nuances of the original-language word He used to address her, but it was one of those topics that often gets lost among the weightier issues one studies. Mark gives us the Aramaic words _talitha cumi_ (also sometimes spelled in English as _talita qumi),_ and various translations will render _talita_ as 'damsel' or 'maiden' or some such, awkward-sounding to our modern ears. And some even say 'little girl' or 'child'. But this scene prompted me to look it up, since here the script has Him saying 'little lamb'. I learned that it was an Aramaic word that was used to address a young girl, sometimes a rarely-used name, but also a term of endearment, with its linguistic roots in a Syrian word for lamb.
And such a beautiful way to address her, as someone who loves her actually waking her from a normal night's sleep. It's something we might say when rousing a beloved little daughter ("Get up, little lamb.") We would hardly guess from this gentle tone of voice, quite likely similar to the one the real Jesus actually used (at least, I'd like to think so) that what we are in fact witnessing is the Creator of all existence, Who laid the foundations of the world, the One that put her beautiful spirit into her body the first time, that He was commanding it to come back and inhabit its earthly temple again.
Such a powerful lesson to all those present, and to all of us who get to read about it in His Word, and see it portrayed with such artistry here. He Who has the power over life and death, really does love us, and wants the best for us. And for those who doubt, who ask why does He allow death in the first place? Death wasn't His fault, it was ours, through our sin. He came to correct our error and graciously give us life! Because He created us, not to die, but to live with Him forever!
How do I know? Many reasons. But most assuredly one of those reasons, was Him speaking to this man's poor, dead child with a term like 'little lamb'. Like Someone who really loved her. Thank you Dallas and The Chosen team, for helping me find that one!

After being in the Lukewarm Church for 50 years, I assumed that I was saved because I said a prayer and I was baptized...But clearly I was a hypocrite because my life has Willful sin, so I rarely ever saw answered prayers in my life.
Then 6 years ago I found out that it Only takes 1 Day to Lsten to the N.T. Bible. The Truth Set Me Free in 1 Day!!! Now I read my Bible cover to cever every month, and I warn people to read The Word for themselves and STOP trusting in a Pastor's interpretation.
I finally had faith (w/o doubting) knowing that Jesus could completely heal My Mind Body Soul and Spirit, and Her did on Aug 10, 2017! I prayed for Jesus to heal me of breast cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, etc and by the 2nd or 3rd appointments the disease was gone! ❤ When we put our Faith in a Doctor, who prescribe medications which w/o exception is a Demonic Spirit of Pharmakeia!! So if God chose not to heal me, I would rather suffer in pain until I died, then to willfully open the door to let Demonic Spirits in!
In 6 years as a "True" Believer, I have Never Once experienced: anger, guilt, shame, insecurity, fear, perverted thoughts, alcohol, depression, jealousy, worry, suicidal thoughts, lying, bad language, pride, doubts, unforgiveness, complaining, etc... etc... When Satan shoots an arrow, I simply Pray and takes that thought Captive by making it Obedient to Christ; so within 5 seconds I have complete Victory!

I've always considered myself a Christian but I've never really been a church going person. My relationship with God has come and gone all my life. Events in my life would shake my belief and then something else would happen that would cause me to look to God for comfort and wisdom. It's been like that for probably the last 20 years or so. I was baptised and taken to church as a young boy,... but later on in my rebellious adolescent years and as a young adult, I thought the concept of God and going to church was "outdated" and no longer held any meaning for me. Some days I'd believe, and some days I didn't. Pretty much a Christian in name only, the typical American who celebrates Christmas and Easter holidays but hasn't been to a church service in years nor really prayed much and only knows a few bible verses.
This series has started changing that for me. Jonathan Roumie's portrayal is simply awe-inspiring. It's utterly captivating, and it lines up perfectly with how I've always imagined Jesus to be, if I were to have actually been alive during the time of His ministry on earth. Watching The Chosen has stirred something within me, and it's caused a renewal in my faith, with the goal of becoming a better person. It's easy to lose yourself in the hustle & bustle of the modern world. With how things are these days in society. All the political nonsense. How divided we are as a society on certain things. I'm not the type of person to preach my beliefs on others, I think free will is a beautiful thing and it's up to each individual person to determine what they want and believe...but I cannot recommend this show enough. It is incredibly powerful if you open your heart to it's message.
Dallas Jenkins has truly done something wonderful here, and I think this series is going to be responsible for renewing a lot of people's faith and it's going to bring the Good Word to a lot of people who maybe didn't think they needed it in their life, but discover that they did all along.
So whenever your life took a dive and you became desperate you turned to religion.
