I seem to learn more by instincts than by intellect.i began to feel this only recently..as I look back at my childhood early adulthood and early old age.Anxiety panics reflexes appetites seem to have been more prominent than the cognitive aspects of attention concentration judging disciplining etc etc..
I loved what Donna brought. And I'm intrigued that some don't understand phenomenology. Psychology and Psychotherapy have been a self-contained and closed system long enuf now that they have their own dictionary for many of these terms. She often had to stop to define terms because translating between disciplines can be awkward. I'm hoping that Psychotherapists will expose themselves to more philosophical thot as they practice. It is an ancient Gold-mine that has much left to enrich us with.
God first said "let there be light" ... and then he said "it was good" If God first said "it is good" and then created light, it would have been confirmation bias, and possibly delusion ...and this is why Ethics should not proceed Ontology (what is) ... Does this form of radical Phenomenologisation not create a duality between itself and the "apriorists" -- creating the same kind of duality/dichotomy that it denies validity in the analytic tradtions? Jung had a philosophy of aspect monadism, that these dichotomies were inherent to the universe and able to coexist -- If the the atomic experience of the universe is "relation" or relatedness, how can I form a model of treating another person well -- If I don't know what it means to be me (mine), how can I know what is a you?
So sorry but while I love PSAN but this delivery is very laboured, no disrespect but reading a bunch of stuff like this is a struggle to pro-actively listen to. Maybe it’s me or just my UCS.
What? She is going to read that stack of papers? In that monotone voice? I'm dying... In my opinion, she should have changed her paper in order to fit into a speech.
The best path towards wholeness is to self analyze. Figure out your childhood, working from memories and dreams. Focus on all forms of neglect and abuse, as minor as it was. Self understanding from an Experiential standpoint is far superior to book knowledge passed down from a degreed person. Apologies to all types of therapists.
I wish I was there in person, voice in my head wants me to say I got all I can from this but don't wanna be impulsive >:( concentrate. Ok, apparently Levinas is a murderer what! wow. Phenomenology is more cultish than psychoanalysis tbh, way too much self-centeredness, and that is saying something. The human is empowered by being psychologized, or typologized, it is constructive by definition. Ha you have bias. It aids the belief in interpersonal relations by lubricating social cohesiveness with reductive statements. shalom
Donna's speech is unbelievably beautiful and impactful for treatment.
the discussion of levinas was beautiful
It actually starts at 6:15.
I hate long intros.

Long intros teach you something about culture but you have to supplement the words and names

why are you watching if you are dying?
Everyone is dying. Slowly. One day at a time. I'll use the rest of my days to learn about anything, especially psychoanalysis.
