This is technically a new season, that's why there was a music drop at the start and the end. It's like AoT where the final season was split into 2 parts, there was a small hiatus in between episode 13 and 14 😅 And don't worry about Emilia's memories at the end, you didn't miss anything!

Its incredible how characters besides subaru develop in re:zero, how otto goes from the one who pushed him from the carriage to someone he can trust, rem went from someone that tortured and hated subaru to someone who loves him. Just like subaru’s development in s1

I know that it's not related to this episode but I just wanted to say that the anime of re:zero will probably continue airing for decades because it's one of the longest written work of all time, and we are only about halfway done in the webnovel. Last time, it was checked during mid to late arc 7, that re:zero was 4.6 million words long including all the main story and all the side content. The longest book series written by one author that I could find is Discworld at around 5.625 million words. I saw someone do the math (I don't remember who but it was in a comment under one of the recent posts in the rezero subreddit I think) and they calculated that we are around 50% (it was a bit more but I can't remember the exact number) done with the novel right now if we count that it will have 12 arcs with the last one being double the length of a normal one like the author said, and with how each arc seem to get longer (arc 7 is very long and arc 8 was supposed to be arc 7 part 2) we might not see the end of the webnovel until 2035 even though the author doesn't want it to continue for that long I just can't imagine him going faster than he already is. Not that I don't like the fact that we will be able to consume rezero in anime format for (probably) decades to come. It's just that it's a bit scary to imagine that rezero might very well be the longest written work by one author if we count the side stories, EX novels and if stories (and maybe even without them).
