- You know, sometimes we all think that to have fun we need to leave home and go to someplace exotic, or expensive. But if you just look around, you might find new and fun things to do in your own hometown. This is exactly what we did on a recent walk down Washington St in our hometown. We discovered new shops, met some interesting people that were a lot of fun to talk to and had a wonderful day.
Huntingdon's downtown changes with the seasons and this day was special. In early April the trees burst forth in snow white blossoms. It pretty to drive down town but so much better to stroll the the streets and gaze up at the blue sky through the beautiful flowering trees.
The downtown has several other connecting streets with more even more fun places to dine and shop and we invite you to take a stroll around the downtown, checkout the many historic buildings next time time you're in Central PA.
Downtown Huntingdon is brimming with small town charm and friendly merchants. Who knows, you may even bump into a Fun Chaser!
Beautiful town. Thanks for sharing 👍
We are so happy you liked it. Thanks for leaving a comment!
I remember when the five and dime was called the nickel and dime store. Thanks a Marklott.
We appreciate you watching! ❤️
What a cute little town! I want to visit.
Come any time! You’re always welcome!
❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks
Good video. It bugs me, however, that people, even people from Huntingdon, like our host here, pronounce the town's name as Huntington.
That bugs me too - and I can assure you if it sounded like I said HuntingTON it certainly was not my intent. I’m a Huntingdonian through and through and have corrected people about the spelling and pronunciation for over 50 years. I’ll work on my enunciation. Thanks for watching and commenting and for helping me to do better in the future.
@@TheFunChasers No disrespect intended. I like your videos. I watch a lot of them and I watched the entire Halloween Parade. You interviewed my brother Phil Lott, for this video. Keep up the good work and I apologize for being nit-picky. I guess that "d" vs. "t" thing is just a pet-peeve of mine.
@@marklott2927 seriously mine too! So I really do appreciate your comments. Sometimes I talk too fast and my enunciation gets bad. I’ll watch that😉 all comments are welcome and appreciated! ❤️
@@TheFunChasers I love to hear the accent from home. I was in an elevator with a lady in Harrisburg one time and she started talking and I was, "Oh my God. What part of Huntingdon County are you from."
@@marklott2927 😂😂😂😂 and then there are completely different parts of Huntingdon County accents.
Ahh, the memories. I only lived in Huntingdon initially as a little kid, we moved to LI, NY when I was 5. I moved back at 15, & was out of there by the time i was 19. That being said my dad, & mom are both from there. In between my grade school & middle school years I visited there almost every summer to visit my Grandparents, & then finished my last 3 years of HS there. Some of my best friends still live there, Mr. Phil Lott being one of them. Bottom line that place will always be in my heart.........................
That is very cool. When did you graduate? I ask because I think we may have graduated fairly close together. I think I remember your name. And I’m very glad you dropped by.
