Honestly, this was such a good tutorial. It's rare that someone paces a tutorial so well that I hardly had to pause the video at all and could follow along in Ae myself. Made everything super clear and explained what everything did - thank you very much!!
this was so helpful! one question: is there a way to export this as a transparent file with only the confetti visible so I can overlay it in a PPT file? thanks!
Absolutely, you are going too want to go to Composition > Add to Render Queue and just under where it says 'Best Settings' you want to click the arrow and switch it to 'Lossless with Alpha'
@@GoatmanArts When you did this, what was the final file type? I am trying to use the confetti as an overlay in OBS combined with triggerfyre but my only options for file types are png, jpeg, jpg, gif, mp3, mpeg, wav, ogg, webm, and mp4. So my problem is getting the transparent output file from after effects to one of these accepted file types.
Very good tutorial, thanks a lot. I am happy with my confetti but am still confused over the particle "transfer mode" there doesnt seem to be one where the particle colors are not interacting when they overlap. "Composite" still gives me where a red and a blue one overlap a different color! Anybody know a solution to this problem?
When I set the producer Z position to more than .5 it stats to fade away and I can't see the particles anymore. Turned out that is because I've enabled "Composite with original", because my background turned white when I've dropped the effect on the scene. To solve problem with white BG I've made another, white solid and put the effect on it, not on the black solid.
In side 'CC Particle World' you can change the 'Particle Type' to 'Textured Disc'. This will allow you to change the texture drop down just below it. If you create another layer and set that as the texture (then turn the visibility off on this layer) you should end up with circles. You can then play around with other setting to create what you're looking for. You're most likely going to want to turn the 'Max Opacity' up to 100%, to switch the colour up you will want to adjust it on the texture layer. How this helps.
You should be able to drop the thing you want as a texture on a different layer and then in the particle world settings go to 'particle' > change the particle type to textured square > then go to the drop down menu under that called 'texture' > finally set it to the layer you want to be the texture.

Great Intro!
would you please post your machine specifications ?
Can you create this effect with a “custom particle”? E.g. raining candies?

Goatman Arts Thank you! I’ll give it a go!
