I keep naming books on Kindle that I downloaded on kindle unlimited, and I name the book, she gives me another book. I don't know why. I'm legally blind too.
the big difference between the audible and alexa app is that on the alexa app you can't use the progress bar to fast forward or rewind like in audible. and also it should at least have CC on screen if you want Alexa to read the kindle book to you when you are on pc or mobile. Also you you slect the chapters of the kindle book with the alexa app on pc but not on mobile.... A great improvements for the alexa app would be to allow to use the process bar on the alexa app for the kindle books.
Hi Celine, any model from 8 onwards is still supported and so will have the same accessibility features. I like the 8 as it has a physical Home button but any of them are good!
I used to love listening with the Echo. Having multiple devices allowed me go from room to room too. But sadly, for the past week Amazon has not been able to retrieve Audible books.
Since Amazon owns Audible, they share accounts. So, if you set up your Amazon Echo with the same Amazon account that you used for your Audible membership, audible will automatically work on your Echo devices.
Do Alexa devices have an audio out for, say, earphone? Trying to get something that will do as was done in the video, but need to use headphones. Can this be made to work? It's for an elderly, nearly blind, person in long-term care. (Using a phone as a hotspot.)
Just talked to Amazon tech support. To listen to Audible books on the Show, now have to ask for the specific book. It will not connect if you just say “play audible” as the other devices allow you to do. The technician is alerting the audible team to let them know of the inconsistency and hopefully the will fix it. But for now, still can play audible books, just have to say “Play Audible” and the book title you want to read.
Lol my echo responded to your voice commands and started reading pride and prejudice 😂
I hope you listened to the whole book!
@@VisionForwardTechConnect lol nope. I have read that book so many times I could probably quote the whole thing. I don’t need to read it again
Thanks!!! i was looking for this tutorial.
No problem!
Thank you this was very helpful
Glad to hear it!

Will it work with sideloaded books? Can you slow down the reading speed?
Hi Rod, not sure about sideloaded books I'm afraid. You can slow down the reading speed.
Very helpful, many thanks.
You are quite welcome
I always play my books on my Alexa but it’s not recognizing my latest purchase and I don’t know why
Sorry to hear that!

Can the Echo Show also show the text as it's reading?
Kindle may, Audible will not.
I’m frustrated because my Echo was reading to me and now stopped. She says she is going to read it but there is no voice. How do I fix that?
I'm afraid I don't know!
thank you for your video, i do have a question, is there a way to change alexas voice that she reads the book
Yes, you can ask Alexa to change voice.
i don't know how to change the alexa voice thatis used when alexa is readding the kindle books outloud. Can you help with that?
@@tarndt9217 You can't change the voice when reading Kindle books unfortunately

I heard this from someone else too - very unusual! I assume it will be fixed soon.
I think this problem is fixed. I tested it on May 9, 2021 and it seems to work now.
What does it cost
Currently the cheapest model is $90

Good!
How did you sync the Echo to your Audible accounts
Since Amazon owns Audible, they share accounts. So, if you set up your Amazon Echo with the same Amazon account that you used for your Audible membership, audible will automatically work on your Echo devices.
I have a question does Alexa talk normal I want to listen to books but she sounds so weird
She only talks like she talks, not exactly like a real person.
Do Alexa devices have an audio out for, say, earphone? Trying to get something that will do as was done in the video, but need to use headphones. Can this be made to work? It's for an elderly, nearly blind, person in long-term care. (Using a phone as a hotspot.)
Yes, the 4th generation Echo devices have Bluetooth connectivity and a line out for wired headphones or speakers.
