Ironic how the AT-ATs in the movie were filmed using stop motion and here, they're pretty much the only things that aren't.

that's what I said, it's that universe code
every action has an exact opposite reaction
if you debated on having a cup of milk and drank it, then NEARLY get hit by a car, in the universe you didn't drink the milk... well- you'd get hit by that car

Thank you so much for commenting. You're not alone, I feel old too when I remember making this 13 year ago 😅 But I'm glad if it keeps interest over the years. At that time my next idea of big battle I planned was Battle of Geonosis, but to make such project in my spare time, it was more and more complicated 😥

I've seen a *lot* of stop motion films these past 13 years but this is without a doubt the highest quality one out of all of them. The amount of effort gone into faithfully recreating the movements of objects in the scenes is outstanding and it's no easy feat to get lego figures to move so realistically! Massive well done!

Watching this now I still find this work impressive and well put together.
The sound effects, with the stop motion and the special effects and the AT-ATs and the smooth jets.
Would love to see something like this again.

I am amazed. how is this your first brickfilm? this looks like someone has been practicing for years to get this good. Where did you get the backgrounds? thanks

    •  10 лет назад +21

Thank you again that's really kind. Indeed like I said in the description I was learning by making this video, so obviously it isn't without mistakes trust me!! But I took my time to figure out how to make the different effects I needed to create by twitching a lot in the programs and by watching several tutorials. It was a slow process at the beginning particularly cause I didn't know anything from stop-motion to software programs but it is like a game to find out solutions in order to recreate a famous sequence with a believable and nice looking on the overall :)
Regarding the backgrounds, sometime it's from the original movie itself otherwise 80% of the snowy mountains are pictures found on google. And I tried once the program Terragen allowing to generate landscape like you want by computer.

Thanks for sharing your feelings! Indeed, I started to get tired of green color at the end of the project ^^ (You can see some BTS pictures here if your interested ;) www.bricksinmotion.com/forums/topic/9478/lego-star-wars-battle-oh-hoth-revisited-shot-by-shot/page/2/ )

Amazing Lego adaptation and very faithful! Write down to the blinking red light when you saw the Darth Vader hologram. Impressive special-effects and it felt like I was watching the real movie!!
My little boys loved watching this.

+Wei Yang The movies actually have better explosion effects. I've seen the non edited ones and they surprisingly have great effects.

    •  10 лет назад +1

Cheers!!! I haven't release another brickflim yet, but this month I'm going to change that, I'm gonna post a lightsaber fight sequence! I often thought to make The battle of Yavin, I know how I will make it if I could, but I haven't enough bricks and lego sets on my own unfortunately :(.. If one day Lego commission me to make this, it will be a true dream for sure!!!

So good. So damn good. Even the little details like the second AT-AT looking at the one falling. Unbeleivable! This is by far the best lego animation I have ever seen, and I've seen a few!
