Shit same i counter it on my first broken was was meh, but this one and the other one fuck i nearly had a panic attack from the purple one and the blue one
@@TuberYouFan it's funny because one of the things that immediately struck me about the EMMI is how bird-like they are. They have talons like birds and their DNA probe looks like a beak on their face. And then hearing that sound in this environment with realistic acoustics and where it can echo does really make it sound like birds chirping. Their resemblance to birds seems deliberate, and therefore suspicious.
I don't think that thing was making the sound cuz I used my headphones and it was coming from the right and that's not even in a 3D shape it's a print on a flat board if u will look closely
The EMMI are genuinely some of my favorite enemies designs for Metroid. They're sleek and totally capable of handling themselves (unless Raven Beak appears but yknow) they're deadly and taller than Samus, and while not necessarily being all that much bigger, knowing what they do and how they kill you makes them more terrifying than anything else
Having played the game, seeing a statue that big making the sounds... that sent a chill of fear in me, I adore those things yet they are actually impressively scary, right up there with the Xenomorph from Alien Isolation for me
Half of me wants one just to terrify anyone who comes to my house. Other half of me has PTSD and would wake up in the middle of the night having a panic attack from it
Most of you are probably too young to know that Terminator game on megadrive back in the 90's, there were moments in that game the bad terminator chased you and you literally had no escape unless you knew exactly where to go without any single mistake or hesitation, or it was a guaranteed game over. The encounters I had with the EMMIS in Dread gave me thrilling moments reminiscing my young self terrorized by the Terminator running after me. That and everything else..what a game Metroid is , so good that I wish it was more difficult to finish.
I think the Metroid series as a whole, going forward, would benefit in a huge way by making unsettling, terrifying threats a staple of the stories & gameplay. Both the Emmi's and the SA-X have made their own respective entries into unforgettable experiences, and to a similar extent, I'd argue that even the Metroids capture some of that essense pre-Ice Beam. Atmospheric horror seems like the Metroid series' killer hook, story-wise. I'm not sure if even Nintendo themselves realize just how big a deal this could be for them if they capitalize on it the right way.
I've always dug Metroid but it wasn't my favorite thing... after playing Dread though not only has it made me play through the other Metroid classics but it literally is one of my favorite games ever!
Me before playing Metroid Dread: "Oh that's pretty cool."
Me after finishing Metroid Dread: PTSD when hearing the EMMI noises
Dude same. I'm never gonna be the same again.
Before playing Dread: Oh cool!
After playing Dread: *triggers anxiety by 200%*
Yes the emmi is all my ptsd combined
facts
*gets vietnam flashbacks*
I think I would actually have a fucking panic attack if I heard that sound irl like that
This shit is terrifying.
The beeps actually sound cool when you forget what is making them.

Purple emmi
@@sarahberry6457My fear just awoke😰
I know someone on this planet will put on a E.M.M.I. costume for halloween.
That is the treat. The trick is when they start moving like one.
@@countlazuli8753 If I see someone walk as one, it's cool. As soon as one begins to defy the laws of their body I'm outta there.
Good idea
And probably get their ass beat, repeatedly, by terrified Dread players😂
@@MaxDoesThings I've seen some contortionists move like emmi before so it's not an impossibility.
Fun and games till Emmi pulls out the big metal piston spike
Is that a Michael Reeves reference or is "Big Metal Piston Spike" a phrase people say daily?
It's a reference to how you get killed by the emmi
@@DeltaStream69 He said it as "big metal piston spike" though which is not how people usually refer to that.
**chase music intensifies**
He did what in his spike!?
That beeping noise actually made me jump a bit fucking hell
*ptsd*
I’d have ptsd if I was around there in person and suddenly heard it go off
Me before DREAD: WOW that robot its so cool
Me after DREAD: *vietnam flashbacks*
Me before Metroid Dread: Omg! This is the most coolest robot I’ve ever seen!
Me after Metroid Dread: AHHHHHH!!!!! GET THAT THING AWAY FROM ME!!!!!
I can’t believe I never realized that was actually him making the sounds, I just thought it was part of the ambiance
Right! And is sounds like bird chirps!

Think this is terrifying? Just wait until BostonDynamics pick up on this and start designing.
Oh no... *OH NO!*
OH GOD NO!
OH GOD OH NOOO XD
*YESN'T*
What's worse is the EMMI actually looks like something Boston Dynamics would design.

EMMI beaping and botw guardian piano both give me nightmares
The fact that this wasn't an animatronic where the top half pivots and turns to look at people with motion detection is a missed opportunity
Imagine having to work with EMMI sounds in the background
Probably worse than being the person waiting in line for a copy of the game
Jesus christ
WHAT ARE YOU DOING JUST STANDING THERE, *RUN!!!!*
Don't worry he has the phamton cloack on he is fine, until it runs out that is.
The Emmi's were such a great addition. The logical follow up to the tense sequences with the SA-X in Fusion!

Yeah lll

Imagine if they made it move and look around like their uncanny game animations, and randomly lock sight onto people for a few seconds
I feel the way I do for spiders about this thing. Very intense irrational hatred.
No no, this hatred is actually rational
I got PTSD from that fucking sound!

That’s so imposing! It’s like “->BUY THE GAME OR DIE.”
Speaking to the E.M.M.I: Jokes on you i have the game already.
It's more like "BUY THE GAME AND DIE OR DON'T BUY THE GAME AND DIE"
“Help me I’m supposed to capture Samus but they turn’t me into a fucking cardboard cut out”
