- So much going on and one day blurring into the next. From what you've seen in the previous step (floating pole dancing and almost winning a poker game) to hiking to the top of the island, our time in George Town has been hectic. But it was so much fun to immerse ourselves into this giant sailing community, it was sad to say goodby and we ended our short stay with a bonfire potluck meetup, surrounded by amazing human beings.

Loved it when the tabby cat stole the 'stretching' scene. Thanks for sharing!
That's no cat, that was a Flerken!
Who else could teach stretching better than a cat?
Again, I’m saved and survived today. One more day. I found Sailing Uma by chance. Thank you for sharing such an incredible uplifting video filled with full of happiness and goodness, and the beauty of nature, and beauty of people. You two. Beautiful people. White sand beaches. Turquoise blue ocean. Wind blowing. Sun shines. Rainbow after the showers. Free diving. Queen’s Bath. Water filling and grocery shopping. Go on hikes. Silk. Gorgeous sunsets and wonderful sunrise. Sailing. Sailing. Sailing. Beautiful people. You two are so true to yourselves. No lies. No hide. Openness. Freedom. Sincere humbleness. Strong. Love bonds two as the ideal bare foundation of life. Beautiful life. Bright. Like the North Star in the dark sky. So far away. But I’m living in it like a dream only when I watch your video. Mesmerized. Tearing up. Yet, so far, far away...I know. I’m so far away. I know this is already old season. I’m not current. Perhaps, you won’t read my comment in this old thread. But, I thank you for showing me what the life was supposed to be. Thank you. Thank you for being you. I wish you two all the best, stay safe and healthy.
I honestly didnt want this video to end!
Dan - you have the best sense of humor. You are hilarious!
Hello UMA. I get sick every time you bring a new video, I'm so mesmerizing.
I live in a 49 foot sailboat and live in Norway. It's great to be able to see everything you've done with the boat and not least everything else you find on. Just had to send you a big thank you for the wonderful videos. It will be exciting to follow you. A greeting from Norway
It is so great when you show videos of the sailing community coming together to share good times. So many people from so many places and backgrounds all enjoying each other's company and stories. It really shows how much we have in common as people even though we are all so unique. Thank yo so much UMA.
It's very true, there is quite little that is actually different, we all have far more in common really. Too bad that doesn't seem to be the focus these days, shame. :/
Watching your video’s makes me so envious of the life I missed, not making an effort to go after my dreams when I was younger.
I am so addicted to watching your channel. Enjoy your adventure’s and stay safe !
Well done! The boating community is a great bunch of people.
Priceless memories simply 'happen' when you just 'go for it...' 😎
Super episode, thank you
Another fun video,...Dan is always hamming it up! Thanks for taking us along. Safe travels.
What an amazing night!!!
i just love this stuff. i love the stuff they do. i love both of them. i love their enthusiasm. And I really love the lifestyle. An one more thing: I love the way they put their videos together.
Good to see Dan put the safety lanyard on in the dinghy. As a US Powerboating Instructor Trainer, it's one of the things I notice. I've seen some messy accidents when they weren't worn.
Another beautiful moment with new found friends ...
Love follows you ❤ ... 🇨🇦
12:00 nice party and editing of it. smile on my face.
Fun episode - pretty cool seeing boat name beach from the drone and the safe harbor marker. Another drop dead gorgeous sunset at 11:20. Now that would make a spectacular wall paper for my desktop! What a great farewell bonfire and BBQ on the beach at George Town Bahamas! Great job once again. Thanks & Cheers!
This was a really good day in the life vid with y’all
Love you two...so glad I found your channel to inspire my own dream of "off the grind" travel.
My family spent a lot of time here almost 7 years ago. This video brought back great memories! Love you guys!
loved that beach with everyones boat names. i'm surprised i haven't heard of it before.
i stumbled onto barefoot sailing a couple of days ago. erica's home is not too far from mine.
Yeah! Reusable shopping bags! Love you guys completely now! 🤓😉
Well that was fun. Thanks for filming when you do regular things. I like seeing interesting places.
Great vistas. Beach bonfire surely looked like fun. Good tips on provisioning there. Thanks.
Almost ready for my spring boat launch, you guys truly help with the off season winter blues 👍🏾🛥
You guys! Watching you make great lasting memories is so awesome. So Happy for you, please keep them coming.
So nice to see Georgetown! Spent time there last March sailing the Exumas. Lots of volleyball and rum punch!
Ahhhh. . . !! So much beauty, in the sailing life, in the sunsets, in the joy of a cruisers bonfire buffet hang out. Great cat cameo, too. Thanks for the great video work!
Always love a rainbow. In Scotland back around 1978, while pulling submarines mast, I saw 7 at once due to the light and mist in Holy Loch. We had to stop and look, wish I had a camera.
I found myself on that little stretch of the Firth of Clyde twice which is an unusaul place to be for a US Marine, but hey, every clime and place. Saw some rain (lots of rain), but no rainbows. Wonderfully nice people.
@@williamdykes2750 hey, you guys provided a valuable function! I'm sorry you didn't see all the rainbows, they were amazing. I spent a bit more time out in the weather, maybe?
Most of the people were wonderful, agreed. I would love to go back now, I looked Dunoon up the other day, the locals had a bit of a recession after we left, but there has been some development since.
Nice job guys, but now my cheeks are sore from smiling for so long. Happy sailing.
This is the best episode you did in months thank you and enjoy the rest off the trip . 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🍸🍷🍻👍🏻🍻🍸🍷👍🏻🍻🍸🍷👍🏻🍻🍸🍷👍🏻
The inter island 'food' ships are called Mail Boats. Virtually everything that the island needs arrives this way. When the boat arrives, there is usually mayhem, small cargo dock and lots of people picking up their stuff. Nassau has its food ships arrive from the USA on Wednesday- Thursdays are the best days to get meat and vegetables. The Nassau supplies are transhipped every where else in the Bahamas (except Grand Bahama). So Nassau food is a few days old when it arrives, Georgetown food maybe a week old, further south it could be two or three weeks old before it arrives. Meat almost arrives frozen for this reason.
In spite of the rain. You manage to have the best time. Safe Travel you two.
Wish I was there with you. Looks incredible.
As always, thanks so much for sharing.
Steve
The video quality is getting better, better, and better! I've loved your videos from the start, but the polish is becoming really evident, and makes for super enjoyable watching! Keep up the amazing work!
Thanks Pip! Glad you enjoy and notice the improvements, it means a lot to us.
Spent a week there back in '91 looks like nothing has changed. Loved my time there.
Awesome. Can't wait to go...
So proud of you guys progress
That was a great video George town seems like a great place to spend some time at. Thank you both for sharing, and safe sailing.
The sunset with UMA on the foreground was priceless...
Yep, I had to save that one as a wallpaper. Epic shot.
Very cool. What a great time
love you guys.... thanks !!!
O man,you guys are living the dream.love these videos. Keep them coming.love from South Carolina.
You guys are just too much fun.
Im always watching your vids. They are just great, enjoyful and very, very good made. cheers to you👌🙏
And why do you want to cross the Atlantic, that anchorage and community is perfect! Great editing again Kika, Dan you must have some really tough feet by now....
Another lovely video! Love the editing! The drone really adds another dimension to the videos (Not just literally :-)!)
Very beautiful 😍👍
George Town was a blast! like I said, If no one is broken or bleeding ROCK ON!
You two are great. I enjoy watching your videos on my breaks at work.
Looked like a lot of fun
Thanks for share.
Funtastic !!!
Hey guys, I had an idea for cooling your electric motor and would like to share it. I think that coiling a copper pipe around the motor will enable you to run seawater through it. The pipe will pick up heat from the motor and the circulating water will transfer the heat back to the ocean. All it takes is the pipe and a small pump to move the water. Make sure the fittings in and out of the pipe are nowhere hear the motor so in the unlikely event that the system springs a leak, the water won't be near the motor. Greetings from a landlocked sailor from Ontario. Fair winds.
I hope they do not have an ODP (open drop proof) motor, it should at least be a TEFC motor. (Totally enclosed fan cooled)
Thank you
outstanding video guys. really like the way you share with the sailing community. Again. WELL DONE. :)
Great video. Cheers from Ottawa Canada 🇨🇦 where it’s -3c.
I would only be there for a few days at a time back in the mid-80’s. Fly commercial into Glasgow, rent a car, drive to a ferry, end up in a hotel. My partner, a chief, would drive me to the fleet landing to drop me. I’d catch an OMB to the tender to do my thing, mostly with the sub guys, and we’d repeat the process with him going to the ship the next day; repeat as necessary for a couple of days.
It was a cool job for a Marine aviator on a non-flying tour. Did the same thing at La Maddalena and other places in the Med. USN has my total respect.
The Bahamas , never realized how sailing could be so good there thx
That crossing has just reminded me of my growing up near a bay called "Humbodt" in California. Fog so think boats would get very lost.
Great video. Are we ever going to get an update on any of your almost completed building projects?
Yes! Once they’re done. But we made a pledge to NOT do any boat projects in the Bahamas. We’ll be finishing many of them up when we return to the USA to Prep for our North Atlantic crossing this summer.
Another great video
that was cool 😎
Great video guys. Glad to see you guys having so much fun :-)
Why jerry jug water when you get dumps like that? Rig up a bit of canvas or tarp and attach a bit of hose to it and you're all topped up :)
Aye m8’s, GT is a special place to check out. Hope you saw and visited more locations than you show here, there are some gems around.
Great Vid
Just a quick question. The water you collect, is that just drinking water? What happened to the water catchment system?
Really amazing footage and editing you guys make for us! But I am really missing the build videos, where Dan do wiring and fiberglassing, those videos were why I was following you're journey. Anyways... I still enjoy your guys videoes:) Greeting from Denmark
We have a bit more work to do when we get back to the USA to prep for our North Atlantic Crossing, but after that, the major refit will be pretty much complete. Won’t be much boat work after. I’m sure stuff will break or need to be fixed from time to time, but nothing like the past 3 or 4 refit major built seasons we’ve had. Hope you still can find joy in our traveling, since that’s why we got a boat in the first place. ;)
Sailing Uma sounds good! Im definitely looking forward to seeing the videos. As I said before I ensure you that I still enjoy your videos every single time! Have a wonderful time in the Bahamas. Have a good one!
Video bombed by the cat love it
Cheers my love ones!!!!!
Awesome day.... food and gathering of coursers for hamburgers and fun.... sweet
I think I’m going to wait till the end of the video to comment from now on
Hi there,
subscribed from S/V Asylum!
The barefoot travels is noticed, and cool.
Do you still use rainwater to top off the tanks?
Why did you pull the KECO cooler out did it not work for you?
I was thinking about getting one but now that I know you pulled yours not so sure.
Ps great show and look forward to more!
Great episode guys. Love the drone footage and the fun beach atmosphere.
I think it's been asked before, but is there any chance your Uma wet weather gear is going to end up on your swag page?
(If not, could I get the brand so I can try to find a store that sells those jackets? They look great.)
We’re working on it :) the jackets are made by ZHIK and are mostly sold online. I think they’re mostly sold in Australia and the UK, but are expanding to the USA. Our black ‘light weather’ ones are their Aeroshell line and our red ‘Heavy Weather’ jackets are their ISOTAK 2 line. We love them! Super comfy, super dry, very well made.
@@SailingUma brilliant! I'm from Oz so will have to check them out... but if Uma ones are in the pipeline, I'd be willing to wait for a bit. ;)
Nice bonfire ~
How would you rate the Exumas vs Eleuthera? If I only have a few weeks is that time to explore both?
Great video!!! Ps. I miss ladies nights!! ♥️
Nice video, so many smiling faces. how is the electric motor? !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great! We'll be doing some test and upgrades soon, so stay tuned ;)
I'll start by saying - We give you an inch and you take a foot (or two) - and put them on your white board! haha That was a fun video/step and like so often I wish I could have been there - at least on Hamburger Beach! Yum yum : - )
This is the life
lol, in a hurry to get to the store wearing that T-Shirt.
8:55 is an awesome shot
Dan seems like a really good guy
Hey guys, I am curious as to how the rain water catchment system is holding up? I am thinking something like that us.
It no longer works since we removed our toe rail and glassed over our hull deck joint.
@@SailingUma any issues with it short of that though? The concept was amazing. And I’m sorry for stealing all of your ideas 🤣.
Funny how the “no shirt. no shoes. no service” policy doesn’t exist in salt life!🤣🤣🤣👍🏾
Dan and Kika need a cat,.. this is a special subset of everyone needs a cat.
Why do you fill the Jeri cans if you have a rainwater catchment system and it's going to poor?
That system was reliant on our toe rain to direct the rain into our scupper drains. Once we removed the toe rail in The Rio, all that rain just goes overboard now.
I want to sponsor a sail in next year's regatta!! (There are rock names like that out in the Gret Salt Lake Desert).
Thank you so much! Send us an email and we can make that happen!
@@SailingUma I'll be in touch soon.
One of the "boat names" in the sand, "send nudes" lol
What a life..😎
What happened to collecting rain water off the deck drains?
That system relied on a toe rail to direct rainwater to our drains. Once we removed that problematic toe rail and glassed over the hull/deck joint, the rain water catchment system no longer works.
8:54 I missed the text 'Kilroy was here' 😜
Luvin' ya both !!!! Cheers :-)
Hey Kika - is there an emergency? Where is your glass gone? Cheering with such a little glass? What's about your intension "only one glass an evening"?
I'd be so mad if I went through all the trouble of hauling water only for it to pour right after I return to the boat 😅
What is the brand of the boat you sale?
Nice jackets
