The Mill's Breed of the month for May is all about Whippets! Our store manager Chelsea, and her Whippet Eva share all the fun facts about this breed in the video!

LOOOOVE whippies, I own 2 girlz and love head over heals. I praise this breed wherever I go! My breeder and her friend, also a breeder have become my closest friends. I owned a saluki, borzoi, but whippies are by far the best of greyhounds
I'm too old now at coming up 80 but if I could manage another dog it would be a whippet. Loving and fun and good for the whole family. I enjoyed your film very much Thank you 😊
Lovely doggy, looks a lot like ours! I understand that its scary to let them off leash. I can recommend to try it, we let ours run daily in areas away from busy roads and without wildlife. She wears a tractive tracker, we only used it when she was scared by a remote control car and ran away (she was waiting for us a 100 yards away). It's amazing to see them run, and you turn an active dog into a couch patato within 20 minutes. A friend of ours even thought their 6-year old adopted former race whippet not to chase animals, so anything is possible, the skye is the limit. :D
Away from roads and busy places, ours is really good off the leash, very good recall with a little food treat bribery! Exhilarating to see them running in full flow. Gets home and sleeps the rest of the day!
I miss my girl. Lost her to a terrible accident. I'm on the search for another Whippet. Wish they were more available; I'm in Pa and it seems that most breeders are so far away.
@@themill2536 Thank you! Shortly after my searching a breeder contacted us that one of their sold whippet pups was being returned by a couple that decided they had too much going on for a puppy. We didn't hesitate, and now have a boy whippet in the family. 😃
The best dog in the world. Please take off the ridiculous neckerchief, serves no purpose and detracts from the sheer athletic beauty of the dog. Why do people dress dogs up?

Whippets are the most chilled, lovable of any dog I've ever had. Everyone should have one!
My one is not chill outside of the house. Very excited and goes from 0 to 100 in the chase in the blink of an eye

Our whippets are lap dogs and are lovely tempered dogs, not destructive at all at our house,
Whippets seem to have the funniest personalities. I'd love to own one, but there's no way I could keep up with the exercise requirements.

How did you teach her how to drop and leave it?
They seem harder and harder to find. Do you have a good recommendation for a breeder?
If you're in the US, I'd check out Pinnacle in Georgia, which produced top show dogs. I got my whippet there, and he's wonderful.
My first whippet we had to make that difficult decision 12 days after her 18th birthday 😢

We have a Whippet. He is adorable, but he is the most destructive dog we have ever had. We love him though.
