One could, of course, make a desktop mat in any sewing technique, and it's a perfect project for slow stitching, where you get to display, and make use of, your creative efforts afterwards.
I love how you worded this "coming out of hibernation" project. Here in my area we had two very warm 60 deg F days in a row with sun and I was out walking in short sleeves! I needed that boost to my mental health. It made me think- is it too early for Spring cleaning?? lol...What I am thinking about is large batch natural fabric dyeing since I have a huge box of muslin and white cotton fabrics. I'm also working on my weekly stitch challenges, teaching classes, editing videos for different places and learning all sorts of fun ideas to try. I'm looking forward to watching how this project of yours turns out.
I'm glad you can relate to my need to do projects, that sortof get bigger as they go along. Your projects sound like just the sort of thing for me to watch you do, while I'm sewing away, waiting for the nice weather to arrive here. I can't wait to feel the sunshine warming me up, and see things growing. Spring cleaning I'm trying to do in tiny steps, because I hate cleaning, and have to persuade myself that it isn't actually happening, while I'm doing it. So far I've cleaned one journaling shelf, one small gardening seed box, about 12 spiderwebs with the spider and various carcasses in, and two halves of different windowsills. Doing great. Thanks for dropping over, and if you don't mind I shall make the odd return visit to your comments sofa, before I finish hibernating, and beyond.
Hello from the state of West Virginia in the USA! New subscriber here! Love the project you’re working on! We are coming out of hibernation here in my area, as well. I’m looking forward to warmer days ahead, birdsong filling the early mornings, and plenty of fresh air and sunshine!
Here's the invisible feather stitch tut I said I'd put here: ruclips.net/video/nKtcsCRdBo8/видео.htmlsi=E2IlQdXSR4efKzla
