I've had the privilege & honor of meeting Jerry Sloan. I lived in his hometown for a number of years, & this is one of the nicest, funniest & down to earth guys ever. You wouldn't know that he's a celebrity when you meet him. He's a great guy & has had a lot of success with this organization over the years & I wish him the best of luck. Maybe he'll get to enjoy that beautiful home in Il that he & his late wife had built.
I will not put blame cuz I do not have proof it was Deron who played a hand in this but I will say as a Jazz fan since 2000 this one stings especially since I thought he would be around another season.That is the thing with sports you cant predict things.Its funny all the things that happening since sloan was first hired.The NBA is gonna lose 2 hall of fame coaches in sloan and jackson.Thanks to Sloan for all those great years always will respect him as a coach and a man
his age could be my grandpa, you can image how tough for this grandpa to spend all his energy in such a long time to love his team,I show my full respect to this kind grandpa and give him best wishes...........
@AKIZO1118 You ever heard of a guy named Karl Malone? How about John Stockton? Two of the best players in the history of the game at their respective positions.
About time Jerry, you shoulda retired 18yrs ago. You never had a game plan and you always drafted whites and Europeans. Message to Jerry, you can`t win Basketball games without blacks, so quit kidding yourself. It`s like trying to win baseball games without Hispanics. You didn`t bring back Boozer or Matthews (both avg 21 a game) but you keep Kerelinko? Now your team lacks scorers, duh? It was either you or Darin Williams, from that perspective you leaving was to late but classic.
is this the same jerry sloan that benched deron williams half his rookie year in favor of keith mccloud? imagine if it was kobe or lebron they have egos 5 times as big as derons stop blaiming the guy for sloans departure utah has always seemed content with just being a good team that drove deron crazy im glad to see him go as a jazz fan he deserves better and has 2 much talent to waste in utah with a team who is ok with being just good
I wish he would come back , one of the greatest men to ever lead a basketball association. Think about it sloan did things that were unprecedented. Him ever not winning one , is something in the saddest nature. But he will be one of the greatest
Jazz wont be the same. Jerry changed the game!

one of the greatest coaches to not have won a title...i was shocked and its too bad...I don't know whats up with Williams...
Ty Corbin is a good man, he will get them back on track,,it probably was time for Coach Sloane to move on

hes almost 70.
owes much to mehmet because SLOAN
we know deron wants to come to NY, and we will accept him with open arms, but kicking jerry out of utah was low class
Deron Williams...seriously..just do your job, stop envying superteams like the Heat.
his age could be my grandpa, you can image how tough for this grandpa to spend all his energy in such a long time to love his team,I show my full respect to this kind grandpa and give him best wishes...........

Hope the Knicks sign him and he can teach them defense.
Damn you Deron Williams
That's because Phil had MJ ,Shaq and Kobe.
Jerry had been a coach for 23 years with no superstars.
I miss him.
@mnw1989 so true
Jerry Sloan > Deron Williams
good luck Jerry. U have earnd the respect!
nba owes Sloan a coach of the year award

He was a great coach. One of the best ever.
There is no duo like Stockton/Malone in history. Sorry.
dont blame deron williams. cuz he puts in work!!!!! You need to blame tha bullshit new owner!
it's just a loss for NBA
is this the same jerry sloan that benched deron williams half his rookie year in favor of keith mccloud? imagine if it was kobe or lebron they have egos 5 times as big as derons stop blaiming the guy for sloans departure utah has always seemed content with just being a good team that drove deron crazy im glad to see him go as a jazz fan he deserves better and has 2 much talent to waste in utah with a team who is ok with being just good
Jerry Sloan could of won 2 NBA championships if it wasn't for MJ being in his path.
TRUTH hurts.
rest in p.a.r.a.d.i.s.e jerry sloan
Recent interview with Greg Miller.. he begged Jerry to stay. Jazz have always favored coach over player. The Jazz then traded Deron.

any one know what's the funny thing about this he retired after 23 years (MJ) and after the bulls game
Come to New York Sloan! Mike D'Phoni needs to go.
@LACraig621 league

deron should've learned from stockton.
