    • @SkyTurnsPurplePhotography
      @SkyTurnsPurplePhotography Месяц назад +2

      Arenas was not underrated.
      He brought a lot of bad traits to the team he was on that had nothing to do with basketball. He could score, but he wasn't a great defender who could lead a defense and share on offense. He was self-entitled and stupid and to this day is still proud of it.
      He was a huge bust. Carmelo, Harden, same. They make their teams worse because no one is quantifying their turnovers, lack of defense, lack of rebounds, lazy screens, and all the other negative plays besides bricks that help a team lose. Arrogance and ego often hide in negative statistics that no one is calculating.
      People will drool over a 40 point game, but completely ignore the misses, poor D, rebounds never attempted, etc.

    • @Plague_Doc22
      @Plague_Doc22 Месяц назад

      @@SkyTurnsPurplePhotography Saying Gil, Melo and Harden are busts is insane.
      Melo and Harden are first ballot hall of famers and arguably two of the top 5 best scorers ever.
      I agree Gil was a bit of a cancer as a person but on the court he provided an instant value offensively. He just needed a more defensive minded team around him. Similar to Allen Iverson when he went to the finals. He was the only big time scorer.

    If you can play and do what you do as to contributing. Never apologize to anyone when it comes to your game and craft. If the person wants to meet you in the middle, than that can be mutual. But never apologize for what you know, you can bring and do. Its the coach's job to use you and find where you fit in the design of the team. So you can win games. If he cant or doesn't wish to, simply out of the effect to the emotions of his own based own your own personality. Than that his problem and self issue, not yours as a player.

    People don't like to speak ill of the dead but Sloan had his moments when he was an a$$hole. Based on the profile of players Utah had over the years, he was very likely a racist as well. He came from a different generation when coaches were like slavemasters to Black players.
    If there were times Deron felt disrespected, it was probably a combination of his immaturity and ego, but also Sloan's bias as well.
    Many coaches are notorious for being like that. Don Nelson was like that, Bobby Knight. Lots of inappropriate demeaning coaching, but it was tolerated because they were White.
    That is not to say Black coaches can't be the same way. Doc Rivers is notorious for never taking responsibility for his behavior, same with that jackass who kept saying "bitch" over and over to LeBron recently.
