He may not end up on the list of greatest fencers of all time, but I have never seen a more brilliant epeeist ever. Tactical genius.

Dope vid. As a leftie, new to the sport, it's the first time I've been able to watch Minobe from this POV. Super helpful for my own game. Thank you for recording and posting, knowledge is power!

They way Minobe shows false weight on the hop is so deadly. Your highlight video shows off the back knee, but this video makes it easy to see him showing it forward. He puts just enough weight in that front knee to make you think he's planted that front foot, and the bam. Right in the kisser. Smart move with the partial extension. Those doubles are solid team fencing.

A great video. Thanks for sharing.
I think you should also think about your position on the track. Against such fencers, I would prefer a more straight line-up on the track or on the left edge of the track.
Especially straight hits against his fleche are not possible with your paosotion, because he can lock you out easily with his epee. The position of his epee (Hand) is inside. The position of your epee is rather outside. If you line up on the left edge of the track, it would be the other way around.
