    Im 41. Its been a lifelong battle. When i was really young and it wasnt as bad I thought everyones mind was like mine. constnatly worried, preoccupied, unable to focus on things that im interested in because im worried about something bad happening or me doing something wrong and hurting someone....and then getting into some sort of therapy and understanding that no. Everyones mind is not like that....its not just that im experiencing the same thigns as them but im just weak.
    some days are good. some days are bad. I work at it everyday. I know it will be till I die. My shadow.

      sorry for what you've been through well fate decided that you will get ocd so don't keep worrying on why you still have it because it's fate we can't do anything about it that's how i sprayed the worries off my mind there's no "if i did that the better would happened instead" that's how you detect a rare ocd/anxiety thought that breaks the point of exposure and response prevention instead do it at it's fullest potential meaning don't do or react at something ocd tells you and later you do it don't you worry my friend and keep going you will reach there as long as you believe that NOTHING is hard unless you believe it is, hope this helped ;)

      Thank you for sharing your experience. This is my first comment on a video about OCD, and I’ve watched them for years. I’ve been struggling since my early teens, and it has been such a fluctuating experience for me, too. Each day can be so different, with no exact reason as to why. Accepting its existence really helped me, too. I believe mine will never truly go away or be “cured,” which is okay. I always say it is something I live with or a condition/thing that I experience. Using those terms has helped in “coexisting” peacefully with that part of my mind.

      @@bricrvlh Something that really helps me is knowing there are other people that feel like this. When I am having a really hard time leaving the house because I am worried something bad is going to happen...its just nice to know someone else has walked this path and had these thoughts before too. Not feeling so alone is a good thing.
      I completley agree. I spent my time trying to drown it out with substances, while I should have been learning to coexist with it. Its something that will always be there, but how i experience it may change. thank you for the comment

    I’m 41 years old and it has always been with me. It has certainly gotten worse with age. I fear the future as I have spent a lot of my life isolating myself and really only have my parents in my life. I can barely function in this world even with their help so the future really scares me. Your videos are truly helpful though and it’s helpful knowing I’m not alone in struggling.

      @SammynAlgeria 10 месяцев назад

      don't worry i know how it feels i can already imagine what you're going through same happened to me but you will get better i mean it if you do exposure and response prevention at it fullest potential meaning you need to not make mistakes during it if you do it's ok just ignore EVERY anxious, fake accurate like and repetitive thought as some of them can be rare and trick you into thinking that it might you be who thought this you can know in your heart that it's not from you and don't wanna do it it don't even bother reacting to it too it can power up ocd and hopefully you will learn the pattern and overcome it! with great power (exposure and response prevention) comes great responsibility (stronger ocd but gets weaker if treated right)!

      @@stellaancimer8505 thanks for asking i forgot to reply i am glad you're interested, well i am not that good at mental health issues but i know about ocd issues so feel free to ask if you want anyway for the images one the anxiety it carries is nearly unavoidable for me i mean it forces you to see the image but you can not react to it by thinking or focusing about something else and if it reminds you ignore it and to know if it's regular ocd you might feel anxiety and a compulsory urge to do it if you do then don't do it no matter what the risk might be but if it's dangerous like not turning the oven then you have to do it but i don't think that's the case yeah

    Wondering when OCD will subside is a compulsion within itself, it is literally OCD at work because there is no inherent nature of the thoughts that makes you do anything. You considered them an attack on your well-being.
    OCD refers more to reaction to the thoughts than the thoughts themselves, they are *no* intrusive thoughts. Just the meaning we give that makes it as scary as it seems.
    There’s no reason to wonder whether it ends when it technically ends depending on how you’re reacting to your own brain, nothing to do with the thoughts themselves.

    • @Yo-6495
      @Yo-6495 10 месяцев назад

      I’d definitely say intrusive thoughts exist, it’s literally things that pop into our head that we don’t want to think about. Aka intrusive.

    • @downspiral
      @downspiral 10 месяцев назад

      @@Yo-6495 No, that is how your brain works. You’re submissive to everything your brain serves you. You can’t control your mind, or your thoughts. You simply just accept them there. That includes graphic thoughts as well. The only thing dubbing them intrusive is you.

      Please don’t give up, and your not an attention seeker. I’m 20 and have had ocd my whole life as well as depression, & severe anxiety. Yes there’s hard days where the thoughts seem so real, but we don’t need to give these thoughts much power, ok? Our minds just happen to be different than others 🤷🏼, doesn’t mean we can’t live our lives like everyone else. Please reach out to someone! Preferably a parent or a school therapist (if you’re still in school). If you’re done with school please see a therapist, you can find all needed info online. Take care, I’ll be praying for you 🙏❤:).
