Very fun car!! Had the chance to drive it for a week and I had so much fun. The clutch was a bit weird for me but that didn’t stop me from driving like a rally driver and bullying other cars on the road!!
I drive this as my first car and i love it. Im almost 19 yrs old and have a white, 3 door, facelift clio 3 (exactly like this one) but unforunately i have the 1.5dci 68hp. Feels kinda slow but its great as a first car. Would have loved a 6th gear on it as on the highway you have to go very high in revs to keep up with traffic (about 3k rpm for 125kmh if i remember corectly) but the car feels like it doesnt like that highway attitude anyway. Otherwise its a great city and comuting car, which are my usecases. It consumes a lot of fuel for the engine and the power its making (i have an average of 5.0-5.1l/100km with a very chill driving style and trying to keep it at about 1.6k rpm on cc at 58kmh in 4th inside villages and 80kmh in 5th outside villages). Maintenance is great, had to replace the oil and the timing assembly when i bought it as it was long overdue (it had ~135k km and had to be changed at 125 if i remember corectly). This month will end its first year of ownership at 160k km. The only things i really dislike about the car is the old renault stereo and speakers assembly (stereo has aux but it has that old, 2 cable aux so you need an adapter for yr phone, but i got an aftermarket pioneer head unit with aux so dont have that problem anymore. The speakers tho are exactly what you expect out of a very cheap car. Other thing that is an inconvenient is that its hard to go into reverse gear sometimes, and it took a lot of accidental grinding until i got the feel of it, but even now i sometimes have to release the clutch a bit so the gears line up and can go in gear. TLDR: 9/10 as a first car. Its cheap, you can find spare parts easly so if you do sth and need a new body panel you should find them anywhere, it has relatively good fuel economy, it looks decent, drives excellent and has really confortable suspension but it gives you excellent control at lower speeds. And very important... Its a safe car. 2 years ago my famili had another one and had a bad crash (been sandwiched between a speeding driver and a loaded van, then thrown in the "sewer" on the side of the road and we all got out relatively unharmed, i only had some cuts on my shoulder from the glass that broke right into my arm. Other than those scars we are all good and i firmly believe it wouldnt have been like that if it was another car. Get a clio for yourself if you are a beginner! Dear parents, get one for your kid!
i own a 2011 Renault Clio III with the 1.2 16V with 75Hp its not very fast but its really fun to drive and sounds amazing at higher RPM Which he needs since its NA
