Welcome back Glen! Great looking video and damn it, I,'m thirsty. Thanks very much for the shout out at 26.30. Both yourself and Neil on my inspirational dudes list already ✌️
Ah cheers my man, I love naming my beers and 'Unknown Legend' was a perfect fit for this one! I think you'd love this btw, it's bold and very moreish. I aged some for about 2 years and boy God they went down well especially with Harvest Moon playing in the background. Give me a heads up when you're over next and we'll arrange an auld tasting session and singsong 👍🤜🤛🇮🇪☘️🎸
Wow! You're back. Loved your content way back when you were singing with your brother in law to this vid. Good job as usual and the production is 2nd to none. Now on to watching the rest of the new content. Cheers!
Missed your vids mate. Glad you’ve returned. Not sure yet on this all flashy and bangy format, will take some using to, however the good, quality content is still here. Keeping my fingers crossed, all best to you! Cheers!
All thanks very much! You be delighted to know that those flashing, street grunge funk styles were just for this first episode, it would be way to much having them on each episode going forward.....more new stuff and on cards. Cheers bud!
Thanks a mil Ronn, I enjoyed putting together the new format, finally got to use my two favourite logo colours....just wondering if I could put together a lime green and black beer lol
big hello from canada happy to see you again, we are going to try this imperial stout with my G70 I love GF products... one of your recipes has become one of my classic that I regularly brew OMNIPOLLO, maybe this one will become another
Thanks so much Yves, I'd love to visit Canada someday and do an awesome craft beer tour. I think Omnipollo was the best clone I've ever brewed..... awesome recipe! This imperial stout is a beast, give it a go and let me know what ya think 👍🍻🙌🍻🍻🍻
Glen! Glad to have you back! I just brewed (for the second time) your hoppy Irish Red AND I did it on my new G40 as well! I just dry hopped it and will be kegging it in a few days.
I was quite surprised to see new content on your channel. Welcome back!! I brew on a similar system to yours, and it's always nice to see what others are doing. Cheers!!!
I'm currently using a 30L Robobrew that I purchased 4 years ago. It's still works like a charm, but I want to upgrade my power and possible batch size. I jiat upgraded to a Spike CF5, and brewery will be next. 😃
Welcome Back Glen! You said you prefer the G40, just asking as I am just about to purchase an additional kettle, aren't the G40 and G70 the same technology and features except for the minimum and maximum brew sizes? Cheers
Glen, so good to have you back and that you are doing it on your terms. Production levels are great and loving the beer hunter reviews. Can't wait for the next one.
Fantastic to see you back! I only discovered your channel about 6 months ago and had been working my way through your back catalogue until I discovered you’d had to take a break - I was totally gutted! Really looking forward to more of your material!
Delighted to be back and thanks for much for the comments! I remember you getting in touch back then alright. Lots of new stuff on the cards, stay tuned.
Cheers Beard 'n' Muscles, I'd great craic making this one. The G40 is an absolute game changer, I actually can't wait to get brewing on it again. Keep me posted on how you get on with it!
Really digging the new editing and graphics. Glad you’re back brother. I recently made a small batch of the Omnipolo Rasberry recipe. Turned out amazing. So good that I experimented with the same grain build and hops, but used Mango….also turned out amazing! Please keep the new content coming!
Here's an idea, homebrewing is a great community hobby as ya know. If there's potential to purchase the unit with a small group and divide the cost and rotate schedule the brewdays then everyone's a winner in that group? I haven't seen a bad review on the G40, it's a game changer!
Great to see you back Glen!! Liking the new production and branding :) (I’ve used the stepped sparge counter on my g30 on every brew, almost muscle memory now!!)
Great video! First I ever saw from you, searching for G40 content. Great impression with a great beer 😋! So you didn’t stir during the whole brew? I was learned to do so to increase the efficiency using the Brewmonk 50. That one I sold last week and now I’m going to buy the G40 😊.
Great video! I've just found out about your channel and I'm amazed by the quality and atttention to detail of your clips. 🤩 Will there be a second part to this brew? At what stage of fermentation would you add the oak bourbon chips? Looking forward to more content!! Great job!
Wow thanks so much, yes my goal was to show a multi angle, multicam approach to my videos to enhance the experience..... along with including some background stories etc. Yeah all (or most) my brewdays will include a Part 2.The reason being is that Grain to Glass episodes use to take too long to publish. So I'll be adding the bourbon chips at the end of primary fermentation. I basically pour the contents of that jar into a hop container over the fermenter, put on the hop cap and drop it into the beer for about a week..... tasting every second day or so 👍🍻
@@TheBeardyManCraftBeers Thanks for the reply and for the tips. I'd rather trust a brewer's advice than the product package (which can be misleading sometimes)😂 Looking forward to part 2, cheers!! 🍻
My G40 crapped out over a week ago on my 6th brew... GF are assessing my broken unit by osmosis and refuse to replace it under warranty... buyer beware.
@The BeardyMan Craft Beers OK. After finishing the sparge and the G40 element was ramping up to the boil, it got to 94°C then just stopped and could not be restarted. Had to emptied 40+ litres of near boiling wort into my old kettles to finish... Not the end of the world, the pump still worked so an easy transfer and lucky i still had the kettles. Cleaned the G40, filled with 20 litres of water... still nothing. The control panel says it was heating, but the element wasn't. Easy conclusion. Element is faulty. Making the unit faulty. Replace it. But no, and this is my issue with them. When it comes to getting the problem assessed, this is where GF believe they can remotely determine the mechanical cause of failure, but without looking at the unit? Impossible in view as it's a mechanical unit. The controller is wireless, but the unit is mechanical. Know any mechanics that can fix an mechanical problem from a different city without looking at? See my point? I offered to get it to them... again no. I was constantly fed some BS about the team are looking at it... but how exactly without looking at it. I sent them plenty of screen shots from the app, even access to my brew sessions. Even the brew shop i bought it off couldn't believe how terrible their response was and stated it should be replaced, but Grainfather said they would refuse to credit them of it was swapped. Wow! Local brew shops are being screwed over, they don’t even make any money off these things... I stand by my view that their after market support is terrible. Grainfather support (Sarah) incorrectly advised me to remove the base and manually reset it, problem is, the G40 has an auto-reset function. So even their support people have no clue. I am embarrassed for them being a kiwi company that i admired for a long time. No one wins when warranty claims are disputed by the manufacturer... especially a cut and dry one like this and to refuse the local brew ship as well.... go figure. As an avid brewer i love the equipment, the G40 is awesome to brew with, i was pumped to get it (despite paying for it only a week after it was released and then had to wait 3½ months for it to arrive, again, ok). Just the day before it crapped out, i was telling the local brew shop owner how much i loved it!!! I even coupled it with the glycol chiller and 4x fermenter pros, pressure transfer system, all up, well over $6700 worth... that's a nod to the quality of the equipment (I don't care the element broke, it happens, but the following response is what counts)... After this, i will never view this company in the same light again. Only after the threat of direct legal action today (yes, i engaged a lawyer and was willing to pay to make them pay up) miraculously the already established foregone conclusion was reached and they agreed to a warranty claim. Like i say, buyer beware.
Man that sounds so unfortunate, really have no clue why it went that way when Grainfather have the 3 Year Guarantee in place on their products. Personally I've never had any issues with the G30 and expecting/hoping the same for the G40. I've only had one brew on it so far and expect it to serve me well for many years to come just like my G30. To be honest I've never looked into what's covered under a guarantee in general but that should be something all companies outline and agree to for products/services. Grainfather have a great reputation, I know of two other guys who had issues with the G30 and G70 both of which were resolved by Grainfather. I'm gonna have a look over the guarantee policy to see what is covered under warranty.
