Wow that's cool, I remember the old slants back in the day. My friend's mother had this old Plymouth with that engine, my friend got the car stuck leaving a party one Saturday night, we were all pushing to gut the car unstuck he wasn't satisfied with are skills pushing so he got out of the car, he promptly fell down and hurt his neck. The next day he was walking with his head tilted, and my friend said "hey look it is slant six" from then on our buddies nick name was slant six.

What an awesome piece of engineering. I grew up with my Dad owning and driving a slant 6 Valiant. It never looked or sounded this good, but when he dropped down a gear on the highway to rapidly overtake another car, you always felt that deep insìde that long stroke engine there was a speed demon lurking underneath all that torque.

@frankparks4900 The Weber system is super sweet. Expensive and difficult to understand sometime but I enjoy the way they work. The engine will idle with the big cam and sounds great.

It's great that you're taking the road less traveled. My last project was a Chevy pickup, I spent a long time looking for a buildable 292 six. Most I went to look at were not a 292 at all, despite the 292 looking very different than a 250. I finally gave up.

I see the you'gens are jumping on you . Now it's time for this 80 year old . The 3 more mains wouldn't make it all that much longer . What basically I'm talking about is Bara type popularity . Yes , those revs are readily available to that format , due to the cammer valvetrain , but it is a real shame the Slant Six never could , or never will see 10 grand plus . And yes , it would have went there with an aftermarket head , push rods, steel crank , ( alright maybe billet , a Bara thing ) , and 7 mains .
