I have only watched the Chateau series, so this is new to me , fascinating! Great work guys! Don't downgrade your skillset Ed, it's far, far, beyond the ordinary persons! Trust me on this one.
Wow that was a perfect fit Edd!!! You are so good at what you are doing. All the best to you all in 2025! Love following you and Anna. I love how you all save and bring back to life lovely old properties. I cannot wait until the AWESOME Blue door goes on the house. This was interesting ... I've never seen a heated floor installed. As always, great job Edd. All the best!
I aint no back expert, so I am just sharing MY experience. Spending a LOT of time sitting at a desk and the only thing keeping my back good are back exercises at the gym. Works like a clock! Now, if I skip the exercises for a week, I start to feel it again and that's when the back can go into pain territory - no exercises beyond that point, just special stretches and rest. Once the pain refuces - back to the gym and it's good.
Looks so good in there! When u first bought the place I was so disappointed to see how bad it looked but look at it now. No one could tell what it used to look like. I can't wait to see the finished product. I live in Canada or I would be lined up to rent that place...❤
Edd, we have underfloor heating that uses water. The only real downside is, we should have installed programmable thermostats to turn the heat down at night and up in the morning. It takes about an hour for the room temperature changes when you switch it by hand.
If you go under the cabinet you have to think about how the heat releases. Most food kept in a cabinet needs a cool, dark, dry space to prolong it's best lifetime usage. No worries if the renters know not to use the lower ones for food storage though. As always a great job you two!!! Thanks for another great video and now let's jump over to Billy's place!!!!!!
First my Best Wishes for you Ed and Anna. Good idea for that Floor. This room is going to be really more comfortable. Great eork as usual. From Canada.
Under floor heating makes a room so comfy, great choice! I suggested it on Billy’s build, now he just needs to connect it up! Anna I loved that reel you put up on Instagram of the wedding in the middle summer, people standing over the fan. Ha! Cheers Kirk
There is tape on both sides of the mat so it can be stuck down either way up, metalic tape should not be used on the mat or stat otherwise it creates a hot spot on the element or false reading on the sensor which needs to be in free space and not underneath anything in a tube so it can be pulled out and replaced when needed, i have had to do this when they fail.
WOW Ed. You are really going all out for a rental space. But I’m sure you’ll get your money’s worth. And I had no doubt that you would be able to do the project. You are very talented. But Ana gets some credit because I’m sure she watched the video with you and she is supervising you. LOL. She is so sweet.
I had electric u/floor heating installed in my downstairs wet-room - paid a pro to fit it and he did a brilliant job. I mention this because there was an excess of the matting - and he simply turned up the excess where necessary and took it up the walls - which were to be tiled anyway so no problem there. Might work for you, too?
I cannot wait to hear how the underfloor heating works? In that is it left on all day to slowly heat up and then maintain the set temp? It is very interesting! Not that I am going to do it but just interesting that is all! Well done on a good job done! Bravo!
Thankyou for sharing another wonderful video. Always a joy to see the incredible transformation but a better joy to see Anna’s incredible shots. You know what I mean 😮🫢😂🤣😘😘
Edd, Anna next step is tiles going down then the kitchen going in, I might be geeting ahead of your schedule but it's exciting to see it all come together.
Le sens dans lequel les rouleaux sont roulés montre que c’est le bon sens pour les dérouler et donc qu’ils sont bien posés 👌 Même si le double face pose question 🙄
Edd, you’re doing a great job, but I sense your back is hurting. Please take care of it. Not sure if you could go to a physical therapist. Under floor heating is so nice. You made it look easy enough for me to do it, but I wouldn’t dare do it myself! ❤
Glad to see you wearing your back brace Ed. I have a bad back as well. Both arthritis and sciatica. Weird thing is I started putting certain fats into my diet , salmon, flaxseed oil supplements, avocado and such and the pain has gone from a 9 to a 2. Wonder if that might help you as well.
@@RickFloodreally, really, REALLY great advice. Oddly, you will need your knees for lots of things over quite a time! It’s been a long time since I could investigate bottom shelves…and get up again. Please anticipate trouble. Much better.
. Yes I see. Dans team kneeling alot. KNEES. R NOT MEANT TO PUT TONS OF HEAVY PRESSURE ON!! And others and I think about my knees......NOT FUN PAIN....WHEN U GET OLDER.
I think you should have taken the paper strips of the sticky stuff before you poured the compound over it.. I can't see it being a problem though. Job looked good to me
@@BordeauxLife i understand the logic for sure. I have always been of the mind to see something working before making it inaccessible. I guess It's the cynic in me, lol.
How would you repair this if the electric on the middle next to the wall...underneath the leveling compound...goes bad?? Would you have to break the tile and compound to fix it?? Very interest to know. I am definitely not an electrician. Just curious how it would work. TY
Ed, I wonder, could you please do one of your little explications with diagrammes so that I might understand how cutting the ends of floor heating allows electrical current to flow? It all seems like magic to me! 😅
He doesn’t cut the wire, he cuts the orange backing and then turns the bottom of the ‘s’ shape of the wire to then form the start of the next line to be laid
Oh I'm VERY INTERESTED IN THIS FLOOR HEATING.!! I LIVE IN APT THAT HAS THIS. ITS VERY WISHYWASHY. NOT GREAT. LOUD POPPING SOUND 6AM . OR OTHER TIMES. ITS VERY COLD IN MY APT. I FIGHT WITH THE THERMOSTAT. 24C. IS STILL BARELY WARM. I LIVE IN CDA🇨🇦 AND WE GET -30C. OM NOT SURE ID HAVE MOVED IN HERE IF IF KNOWB. BUT APPARENTLY. ALOT OF NEW BUILDS R GOING TO THIS TYPE OF HEATING. I HOPE EDDS IS GREAT! I NEED RESEARCH WITH THIS MGT CO. IM SURE THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG! WITH THERMOSTAT. OR THE FLOOR COILS
You might need a new thermostat, plus, if you hear popping noises it's probably water pipes rather than electrical underfloor! If you can, get a thermostat that allows you to set times throughout the day and night to raise and lower the temperature! Keep at 17C overnight and raise to 20C an hour before you get up.
Underfloor heating pipe or trace is a problem going forward when it fails, it might be 30+ years but it will fail, better to insulate the floor better which will last the lifetime of the building and heat the room with serviceable systems not buried!?!
Underfloor heating should def not be electric, but circulate hot water. And you’ve got that already. Anything else is a hazard considering security if someone decides to alter floors, new tiles for example or alter devices in toilets or bathroom or kitchen some 20 yrs from now and starts to break up old concrete. Could easily end in hospital or on the morgue. And if you still go for the electric version, for Gods sake give it a separate fuse that is clearly marked out.
@@BordeauxLife thinking is def not enough. This is one of the more common accidents when changing/redesigning floors. Electric heating has been really popular and trends sure change.

Me too! But probably will be the last thing done 🎉

Wow! Damn good job.
We use infrared belts on our backs and it really helps. Also need Omega 3, 7 and 9. In America we get too much 6 in the diet so we skip that.

Love the outside footage.
Was wondering, are you allowed to "colour concrete stamp" the path in front your building?
To have a nice uniform look.
Should you not have wired this up to confirm it works before applying leveller?
That’s the point of checking the resistance - it was not defective so we can carry on with the installation knowing that it’s going to work fine

How did you connect the mats, wires together?
No you don’t connect them - you pull the wires back to the control panel
👏👏👏
The bins are back in front of the shutters 😢
I moved them again and I think they got the hint….. if they come back I will have to have words - no respect!
@ grrrr. That’s so annoying.
Why couldn't you roll it out full length of floor since you had to cut to fit?
You can’t cut the metal resistance attached to it, and they don’t connect so I had to leave space to start the second roll
@BordeauxLife ok cool. I'm not familiar with electric ones. Looks great. Love your videos from across the pond. USA

I had that system fitted in my kitchen but it cost so much to run I had to turn it off. 😏

👌👍
What was the mistake?
We didn’t undo the double sided sticky tape….. but thankfully the product didn’t float in the leveling compound!
I'm not seeing the mistake. I saw that you had finished the room but no mention of a mistake. Did I miss it?
