I haven’t been reading or editing or watching booktube in the entirety of 2024. But when I tell you that I saw this notification and I JUMPED to add it to my Watch Later and ended up watching it immediately. Thank you for gifting me a video I needed to see and was so happy to witness
omg i was so scared for strange the dreamer lol it was also on my tbr for like a decade, but i finally read the duology last year and LOVED them!!! it's such a beautiful story but also surprisingly dark at times
kindred is definitely worth a read. also liliths' brood is a great series. I don't know if other Butler fans would recommend starting with that but I loved it.
I highly recommend Daughter of the Forest, as well as the rest of the Sevenwaters trilogy! They are beautiful, lyrical, soft romances that do such a great job incorporating the folklore elements into the story.
Thank you for the recommendation about the book about disabled fairytales characters. I will definitely check it out. If you’d like to do a video about disability rep in books let me know.❤
So glad it is not just me unhauling books, I started my non fiction paperbacks and a ton of contemporary/lit fiction/ thrillers etc today alone I waved off 75 paperbacks. Like you I am running out of room and really want to change what sort of books I have coming in and stop being a cover buyer 🫢
The Name of The Wind definitely needed words ahha. That la my literal favourite book… I know we’ve been waiting forever for the third book but it’s such a good series!!!
I have really enjoyed this series! I’ve gotten a few book recommendations and just loved looking at all the covers and hearing your comments about each book. It made my book nerd heart happy😂❤
Daughter of the Forest is my fave fantasy of all time!! The SEVENWATERS is a fantastic series and I loved each book, but Daughter of the Forest has an immensely special place in my heart.
Juliet Marillier’s books are so great! I love her sevenwaters series (daughter of the forest is the first book) and have listened to the german audiobooks so many times I can’t even count it :) those books have a very special place in my heart! 💓
Blake Crouch is turning out to be one of my absolute favorite authors. I read Dark Matter years ago and it definitely took my mind on a trip. I just read Recursion a couple weeks ago and even though there are some similarities to Dark Matter they are not the same. I can't wait to get my hands on Upgrade and see if it's just as amazing.
Silence of the Girls was a 4.5 for me. So glad you kept it! It's like a violent and gruesome retelling of the Iliad from Briseis's pov. It's heavy - very "yes, all men", but it's a story that really needed to be told.
The Lies of Locke Lamora and Fingersmith are both amazing 5 star books for me so I hope you will love them too! I'm also trying to read my entire physical TBR this year and I'm down to 50, I started the year on over 100, I've had several dnfs, read some intimidating books and really utilized audiobooks to read ones I wouldn't have wanted to pick up physically like classics! :)
Finally someone who dnf’ed The Starless Sea! I started to second guess myself as a reader lol. I read The Night Circus- hated it. Thinking I had to have missed something because of the insane hype, I tried The Starless Sea, but that was worse, and after reading a third of it, I just couldn’t continue😅 I love this unhaul series! My TBR is growing😬
I had Strange the Dreamer on my TBR for yeaars now too 😅 Kindred is amazing ! Tough subject but not difficult to read. It indeed makes you think a lot. Absolutely loved The Name of the Wind but will we ever get the third book ? So I understand not wanting to start a serie that may never be finished. I'm excited for the TBR tackled serie !
I love your book decluttering series. Don’t know why I find your video style/personality so entertaining. And good job on decluttering, I haven’t watched this to the end yet but I know in your other video you got rid of 165 books. I’m also trying to reduce not only my books but basically everything because I AM A HOARDER. 😆
I bought the whole shades of milk and honey books series because of seeing them on your shelves and now they have been on my shelf for like 4 years and I haven't read them either lol
I enjoyed The Lost Queen and will continue the series soon. If you end up getting rid of it before reading at least make sure to read her notes at the end about what inspired the story. A fun history lesson.
The Enchanted is such an interesting read!! It’s from the perspective of a death row inmate. He tells stories about the people in the prison and it’s beautifully written (a little flowery though). It isn’t a happy read, but still worth it imo.
I loved The Ten Thousand Doors of January and really wasn’t a fan of Starling House! Also - PLEASE read Dark Matter! Forget about the spoiler, it’s such an easy read, I knocked it out in like 3 hours, and it’s so good.
I think you're the first person I've heard to also DNF 'The Night Circus' twice. I finally finished it after receiving backlash from my bookish friends. Anyways, it's nice to find somebody with such similar taste to my own.
I LOVE The Silence of the Girls, but I fear I must tell you that it is not a burn book for Mr. Achilles. He is definitely redeemed at the end and he even receives his own POV. If you don’t like Achilles, I would unhaul it if I were you.
FYI-- I recently read Kindred for the first time and I hadn't realized it was aimed at kids. As an adult, it wasn't hugely valuable to me personally, but ymmv. (ps the first syllable in _sower_ is pronounced like so/sew/sowing seeds, not sour 😉) "Butler often said she was inspired to write it when she heard young black people minimize the severity of slavery, and strongly assert what they would or would not have tolerated if they were enslaved. She wanted them to not only know the facts of slavery, but how slavery felt."
I was going to tell her she would love Strange the Dreamer and then she DNFd Starless Sea😂 to me the plots are pretty different but they both have flowery language that I loved🌻
If I were you, I probably wouldn't keep Daughter of the Forest and Silence of the Girls. The latter has an Achilles pov and I didn't like it. Or at least he really took over the story. It has been a while since I have read it. Daughter of the Forest celebrates suffering as female strength which is one of my least favorite tropes. Also a very graphic SA scene. Kindred on the other hand is so great, even if it is heavy. :D
I loved the first half of Book of M and was convinced it was going to be a solid 5-star. However......it went downhill so fast. It went in directions I didn't enjoy. And the ending >< gosh, to this day, I can still feel the disappointment.
Shame you were spoiled for Dark Matter. Such a great read. Now that I know there’s a movie for it, I don’t think I want to watch it. 😂 Let’s not ruin a good thing (the book).
It’s such a good show (Blake the author wrote it for tv) and it gives the wife’s perspective that we didn’t see in the book! So good ! (It’s not over yet since it’s a tv series but so far so good)
How is unhauling books you're no longer interested in being a brat????? Also she literally read most of the books she's getting rid of. Idk but I feel like leaving hate comments is the more bratty behavior...
Good on you for getting rid of so many! It can be so hard to part with books 🥲I just did a massive unhaul myself where I said goodbye to over 30 books, I just posted it too 💖
I haven’t been reading or editing or watching booktube in the entirety of 2024. But when I tell you that I saw this notification and I JUMPED to add it to my Watch Later and ended up watching it immediately. Thank you for gifting me a video I needed to see and was so happy to witness
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The window NEVER closes on Strange the Dreamer. Such a good book.
omg i was so scared for strange the dreamer lol it was also on my tbr for like a decade, but i finally read the duology last year and LOVED them!!! it's such a beautiful story but also surprisingly dark at times
I loved them so much as well!!!
kindred is definitely worth a read. also liliths' brood is a great series. I don't know if other Butler fans would recommend starting with that but I loved it.

You have inspired me to do the same with my own TBR.
Same!! I’m moving soon so perfect timing
I'm so curious about TBR tackle because honestly... i should do it too
I've loved watching your unhaul videos! Such a refreshing change from the usual booktube "I got a 10th different edition of this book".

Omg name of the Wind going on the unhaul pile hurt so much 😫
So sorry 😂 I just can’t start another series that has no end in sight
@@RileyMarie_ I know it sux so much. Ive gotten to the point that I know it will probably never have an ending
Daughter of the Forest was my favorite book of last year, I would not sleep on it!!!!
Highly recommend daughter of the forest!
Very excited for this new series from you!! I've like 200 unread books on my physcial tbr, I'm hopeful to get down to 150 this year!

The Starless Sea omg 😢 whyyyyyyy!!! I loved it ❤❤❤❤
No, I HATED the night circus too. It was nothingness wrapped up in pretty words and I just kept waiting for something interesting to happen lmao
Nothingness wrapped up in pretty words😂
The Lies of Locke Lamora and Fingersmith are both amazing 5 star books for me so I hope you will love them too! I'm excited for the TBR tackled serie !
I'm excited to see how many unread books you have for your project!
The audiobook for strange the dreamer is so good and makes the book one of my all time favorites! PLEASE give it a shot
I just looked up who the narrator is and I love him! Will definitely try the audio
So enjoying senlin assends on audio. It has background sounds and everything. Do try it, it might be something you will enjoy
I loved daughter of the forest. I have a couple of issues but overall really enjoyed it and was really invested
So excited for the TBR series!
So excited for the new vlog series!
I love your book decluttering series. Don’t know why I find your video style/personality so entertaining. And good job on decluttering, I haven’t watched this to the end yet but I know in your other video you got rid of 165 books.

Senlin Ascends is so good
I've been loving your unhauls videos!
Ahh, finally able to sit down and watch this! Excited to see what is in store 🩷💜💙
I enjoyed The Lost Queen and will continue the series soon. If you end up getting rid of it before reading at least make sure to read her notes at the end about what inspired the story. A fun history lesson.

So excited for TBR tackle!!!
This was such a fun series to watch. Great unhauls. 📚🥤🌈🍄💐
Kindred was really good! I’d recommend giving it a try if you’re on the fence 😊
Always here for a good unhaul 👏
Project zero TBR is so fun, I did it last year :- )
What is an arc? And what does sapphire mean?
The Book of M was soooo good! I need more people to read it!
Agreed about Penpal. I love horror but that book messed me up.
I loved The Ten Thousand Doors of January and really wasn’t a fan of Starling House!
Also - PLEASE read Dark Matter! Forget about the spoiler, it’s such an easy read, I knocked it out in like 3 hours, and it’s so good.
Also also - I hated Night Circus, I’m with you. I picked it up, read a chapter, put it back down - over and over again for 7 months lolol
I think you're the first person I've heard to also DNF 'The Night Circus' twice. I finally finished it after receiving backlash from my bookish friends. Anyways, it's nice to find somebody with such similar taste to my own.
This is so inspiring! My shelves have reached their limit 😅
This was so cathartic to watch! What was the total number of books unhauled across your whole collection?
in total it was around 270 books
Ooo can’t wait for the vlogs!
I need to purge my shelves so bad 🥹
I LOVE The Silence of the Girls, but I fear I must tell you that it is not a burn book for Mr. Achilles. He is definitely redeemed at the end and he even receives his own POV. If you don’t like Achilles, I would unhaul it if I were you.

"Butler often said she was inspired to write it when she heard young black people minimize the severity of slavery, and strongly assert what they would or would not have tolerated if they were enslaved. She wanted them to not only know the facts of slavery, but how slavery felt."
I protest getting rid of The Name of The Wind
How do you keep your books so spotless even after a decade? 😭
Kinda shock you get rid of Stinger. Lol I love Mia Sheridan's Archer's Voice though hahaha
so I now have a bunch of sapphic books I really want to read
love tbr series👌
i've never seen anyone talk about the thick and the lean! it's a weird dystopian sorta thing and i hope you enjoy it!
🤞🏻 that you tell us the number of books you have left now to read in a year. Love this for you. Could never be me. 😂
I see some books you unhauled that I would like to own. Eagerly awaiting the pango book listing 👀👀
lol, I haven't read the Strange the Dreamer series because it's always compared to The Starless Sea and I really hated The Starless Sea 😅
The Starless Sea was a DNF for me but I love Stranger the Dreamer.
I was going to tell her she would love Strange the Dreamer and then she DNFd Starless Sea😂 to me the plots are pretty different but they both have flowery language that I loved🌻
I also didn’t like starless sea but strange the dreamer is an all time favorite of mine!
I think you’ll love funny feelings! I’d love to hear your thoughts 🎉
I love Greek mythology but have never found a fictional retelling that I like
i don't know why it never seems to work for me
What dark matter movie? All I know about is the show and isn’t over yet
The window has not closed on Strange the Dreamer!!!!!!
If I were you, I probably wouldn't keep Daughter of the Forest and Silence of the Girls. The latter has an Achilles pov and I didn't like it. Or at least he really took over the story. If I’m not mistaken I think Charlotte Holmes is Sherlock Holme’s younger sister
Oops mind nope sorry I think your right charlotte is his daughter Enola Holmes is his younger sister
So what was the total weeded across all three videos? You gave a total in first video but not others.
Wolf Road should be a Patreon book club pick.
Dark Matter was so good!!!! Nooooo 😢
I was so disappointed with The Starless Sea. All the hype and such a let down. Its in my sell pile as well.
What the heck is summerween??
I loved a long way to a small angry planet but i really didn't enjoy the second one. have you read it?
I haven’t read the second one yet. It’s about different characters right?
I loved the first half of Book of M and was convinced it was going to be a solid 5-star. However......it went downhill so fast. It went in directions I didn't enjoy. And the ending >< gosh, to this day, I can still feel the disappointment.
❤❤❤

@@Bookedandbaked I like that he included her perspective. The book didn’t need it but I think a show would benefit from it.
now I wanna know why you're the number 1 Achilles hater 👀👀
I hated him in the Song of Achilles
@RileyMarie_ fair enough. To be fair, Greek heroes are all... terrible people.
I didn't like Dark Matter at all. I DNF'd it halfway through
katee robert used to be a must read for me but truly fell off
same
talk about a brat…
How is unhauling books you're no longer interested in being a brat????? Also she literally read most of the books she's getting rid of. Idk but I feel like leaving hate comments is the more bratty behavior...
Still time to delete the comment bb
Good on you for getting rid of so many! It can be so hard to part with books 🥲I just did a massive unhaul myself where I said goodbye to over 30 books, I just posted it too 💖
