  • Philippians 2:1-11
…at the name of Jesus, every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth… 2:10
Living in a very anxious society we strive to find ways to secure our lives, typically by discerning who is to blame for our problems. But the grace of God that binds us to Christ teaches us to conquer such aggression with humility. Grace sounds nice, but it is actually subversive of the prevailing order.

James Moffat's respected translation reads "Though he was divine by nature, he did not set store upon equality with God but emptied himself by taking the nature of a servant". Many other translations read that Jesus did not try and 'grasp equality' rather than already BEING equal with the Father, infact the OPPOSITE! ( Note; Since Paul uses 'morphe' for both Jesus prehuman and human nature, this surely rules out the the use of 'morphe' ( form) doesnt mean that Jesus was God, in the same way, He wasnt always a man either!
