One of the last remaining USAF KC-10s lands at RAF Mildenhall

Welcomed with stormy conditions, one of the very few remaining #usaf KC-10 refuelling aircraft arrived at RAF Mildenhall together with an assortment of support tankers.
The aircraft were providing refuelling assistance to a fresh batch of USAF F-15s that were positional to RAF Lakenheath, home to the 48th Air Wing, where they will remain stationed.
The USAF KC-10, once forming the backbone of the USAF refuelling capabilities, is being retired in favour of the more economical, Boeing 767 refuelling tanker, with the USAF marker of Boeing C-46 Pegasus.
It is envisaged that all currently operating KC-10s will be permanently removed from service by September 2024.

Sadly not, approximately 10 left from what I understand and they’ll soon be gone. Such an iconic aircraft in both its civilian and military roles.
