Oil based foundation should be paired with an oil or silicone based primer. Water based foundation should be paired with a water based primer. A stick foundation should be paired with anything that’s not to wet or liquidy. The reason why you would pair certain formulas with certain formulas is to stop products from pilling up and to prevent more texture showing up
Thanks!
@@YadiBeauty your welcome
It would be nice if the labeled that info on packaging.
What are your favorite primers? Do you wear one?
The holiday jumbo size moisturizing primerizer was your first primer (if your still looking for it. It was a staple holiday release from 2014-2019) I miss That formula so much, the formula was changed this year
Oh wow!! Ya I would have never known! 😁
The Gucci, Hourglass and the Rare Beauty are great primers. The 3 stay in my collection. I also just tried the Saint James and the Glowish and I like both of them a lot. ❤❤
Omg OBSESSED with Saint Jane!!!!
I'm really bad about using typical Primers. I just use sunscreen and currently in the phase of using setting spray as primer.
Sometimes I’ve done the spray…I should try again now since I’m not as oily right now.
What are your thoughts on the dior primer? I tried a sample once and loved it. I don’t wear foundation often enough so I hadn’t purchased it till recently. I have yet to use it though lol!
I do like it!! I bought it when I bought the Dior backstage foundation to go with it, but for some reason never bought it again. But I definitely remember liking it…I just have too much of other stuff lol
The Hourglass vanish primer paired with the silk canvas or elf putty primer is my current holy grail primer duo. Occasionally I’ll throw a little of the NYX honey dew me up primer if I’m really dry (it happens during fire season and because of current things I’m going through)
I’ve been doubling up on primers too and experimenting!!
@@YadiBeauty I love the look and feel doubling and mixing primers give. Something about the control and targeting you could do just feels very luxurious and constumizable
@@CatNagTaylorsVersion I agree!! I had never heard of that until the other day…this girl was saying she always wears two mattifying primers and it works wonders!
@@YadiBeauty I’ve never tried Matt on Matt primers or combining two primers that are supposed to do the same thing, I always thought that would take a little of the dimension out of my face particularly, but I could see that really working for someone that needs Matt or dewy or whatever other finish you can think of, all the time.
I love the hourglass vanish primer but she's expensive 😂 and the Tatcha liquid silk canvas is really good for my combo skin but if I'm broke sheglam birthday skin is great and samples of milk hydro grip 😜the d 'alba spray from Amazon really helped my pores and oil
Ok never heard of Sheglam birthday skin or the D’Alba!! Looking into that asap 😅. Thanks!
😂 Oily skin: when you know you know. Girl I’ve said that to people who try to say oh I don’t have to blot at all when I use xyz. Then you are not oily skinned. I like the Peach Perfect primer and loose powder so of course they discontinued it. The whole line I think is gone 😢
Ok so you definitely know! 😁. I used to like that one a lot too!!
I def have a primer wardrobe but that Nanoblur was my bestie this summer ❤. I’ve not tried the hourglass primer. I’m gonna have to pick it up next VIB.
That nanoblur omg!!! It’s soooo good!
have you tried the caliray primer would love tour opinion…. comparin with these others ❤❤
Yes I love it! I bought a mini initially, but it worked out nicely by for me.
That Nanoblur sounds perfect-I’m gonna have to check it out! Thanks!
It’s still a favorite!
I use laura mericier for combination skin I have oily and dry skin it's in the pink bottle it's so nice. I love that one better.
Oh wow!! Never tried that. Thanks for the recommendation!!
OMG, I was just thinking of asking you to do a video on this since I have oily skin as well, since most women our age are dryer skin. You read my mind! Watching video now! 😁 I have all those primers except YSL and they are all very good. What I do w my makeup is I use a Pore filling or mattifyin primer in tzone and a more hydrating primer in the perimeter since I tend to be a little more dry. And same, there is no primer that's gna completely take oil away for 12 hours. I always keep a powder or tissues in my purse to blot thruout the day or every few hours. The good thing is that my oils may come thru but there is no separation of the foundation so in that I feel the primers work. I am still trying to figure out which primers work best with certain foundations cuz one day my skin will look Flawless and the nxt w same foundation it's a mess. I gonna keep a journal to write dwn my combo when it works really well because I have so many primers and foundations! Thanks for the vid!❤
Ooh the journal is a good idea!! Sometimes I do my make up and it comes out looking really pretty, and two days later I can’t even remember what I used…
@@YadiBeauty same!! I'll forget what combo I used that looked so good! So today I put a journal on my makeup desk. 2023 goals!! I have at least 20 foundations and 20 primers ( maybe more...😬) so it's so easy to forget!
Some times I do and sometimes I don’t…but when I do I enjoy Milk the most!
Ya I agree, very nice!

Love the Hourglass and the Gucci primer.
So good!! Are you oily skin type?
