  • This is the final hour: it can be our finest hour.
We can solve our climate emergency, but we must act now.
The Paris Agreement (2015) was a landmark for humanity - with 195 countries committing to a sustainable future and targets to slow climate change. Christiana Figueres, former UN Secretary for Climate, was one of the principal architects of the most pivotal climate agreement in history; the Paris Agreement. In this talk, she will explain why we must continue to confront the climate crisis head on, with determination and optimism.
She outlines two scenarios for our future: how life on Earth will be by 2050 if we fail to meet the Paris Agreement climate targets; or how it will look and feel to live in a carbon neutral, regenerative world. These themes are explored in the forthcoming book: The Future We Choose: Surviving the Climate Crisis, which will be available for purchase from 6pm in the Allan Scott Auditorium.
Christiana Figueres will be in-conversation with Professor Chris Daniels, Director of Cleland Wildlife Park.
