  • The 2023 UniSA 3MT Grand Final is presented by The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre and the Office for the Dean of Graduate Studies, supported by participating UniSA Academic Units.
Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is an international competition celebrating the research undertaken by PhD candidates.
Competing for a chance to win $3000, and to represent the University of South Australia in the 2023 Asia-Pacific 3MT Competition, our finalists will present their research using non-technical language, with just one slide, in just three minutes.
The seven aspiring PhD candidates will engage the audience with their research, with a representative nominated from each UniSA Academic Unit. Finalists and presentations include:
Sindhrani Dars: Step it up - how people use podiatry services after chemotherapy, representing UniSA Allied Health and Human Performance
Hayley Caldwell: Recreating the sleeping brain during wake: A comparison of memory mechanisms used to learn, representing UniSA Justice and Society
Rachel Lever: Harmful sexual behaviours displayed by children: Police responses and diversions, representing UniSA Education Futures
Daniel Johnstone: Cancer stories in education, representing UniSA Clinical and Health Sciences
Elita Nuraeny: Architecture and culture: A study of Betawi spatial qualities in modern Jakarta, representing UniSA Creative
Rupinder Kaur: Peptides for a greener future: Boosting mining’s sustainability, representing UniSA STEM
Kathryn Anderson: Does place matter for entrepreneurship and innovation?, representing UniSA Business
The 2023 UniSA 3MT Grand Final is to be opened by the University of South Australia's Professor Marnie Hughes-Warrington AO and hosted by MC Lainie Anderson - winner of the 2022 UniSA 3MT Grand Final. Learn more about their big ideas and help select this year’s People’s Choice winner.
