Good to see you pull out your XR again. MOA is still king. With all these folks asking about these pro comp crawlers itd be cool to see some more of the CTG/Calgary Crawlers guys running rigs at PM Hobby Craft.
you should take it to the creek and crawl around thats always fun i have a modded summit ti do almost the same thing just it doesnt have wheel locks i run 3 6 cells in it its crazy fast lol
Hay havic (sorry if I miss spell) I was playing with an idea and wondered why it hasent been done or if was even possible, a nitro crawler or even a larg scale gasser crawler. Is there a reason no one makes them? I mean there are 4wd vehicles of each cant you modify them to crawl? With your knowledge of RC do you think its possible? Or maybe you know someone with one, well hope you and the wife have a nice rest of your week see ya.
I'm no expert, but I think nitro engines have very little torque, just lots of speed, so they wouldn't be good for a crawler. but I don't really know, I've never had a nitro, just my guess haha
Nitro's run really hot so driving them at very slow speeds would just cook them. As for weed whacker engines they are just way too big to be used in rock crawlers.
***** That crawls and flexes about the same as my Losi Night Crawler but it's really slow it's geared really low it has 20:1 gear reduction with a 55t brushed motor
i have a question: at the time i'm building a 8x8 truck with 2 brushlessmotors and I want drive the truck like your crawler. i need a radio, where I can connect 2 ESCs and control them separately (like your crawler). witch radio should I choose? the cost must be under 100€
Hey medic can you have four wheel steering with the dig system as well? I've got a losi nc and I'd love to do that to it? Also how do you get such good throttle control out of the motors. Mine is stock right now with a spektrum dx2s controller and it seems like it is either full throttle or no throttle.
I'm looking to get into building a custom comp crawler (I'm a precision machinist so I plan to make lots of my own parts) but my biggest problem is Idk where to start. This model is no longer available so any idea of a good starter kit to start building off of? Possibly something rtr as I have no other rc cars this will be my first just getting into this. Thanks!
Hi, I am new to the hobbie grade rcing. I got me an Axial Honcho RTR. I find myself flipping when trying to go uphill. I dont gun it, I crawl, but I find my self in this situaton most of the time. The Honcho is stock except for the 4 link, HR tierod and bumper raise mod. Any tips on how to climb/downhill? what I can do to it? Love the Hobbie!!!
+grady baird thanks, It came with the battery up front but mounted high. I move it behind the axle and the electronics on the sides of the motor/transmission. It fix my problems. Thank you for the reply!!!!
The power regulator (BEC) actually provides proper voltage to all parts of the vehicle when necessary. IE: If i am trying to power out of something, and use my high voltage Steering servo at the same time, the BEC ensures that all parts of my truck get the right amount of power, without any fade to individual components (Receiver, Motors, Esc's & Servo). I use a castle creations 10amp BEC
Hey medic I wanna raise my sisters axial scx10 and I was just wondering is it just suspension coils I need or what do I need to raise enough to notice that it's been raised?
Get a Level 3 RC Lift Kit for the scx10 and what it does is basically moves the shocks down lower which raises the truck up about a 1 1/2-2 1/2 inches!!
The scx10 dosen't have preload clips. The shocks have a threaded body so you can turn the adjuster down. However, that won't make a difference in ride height so you will need a lift kit but I wouldn't get one because it makes the center of gravity to high. So have it how you want it. If you check out my channel I did a mod that will let you raise the ride height withought a lift kit.
Hey man....Awesome video..=) But one question... Is it common for rear axles to sound like your's, and mine as well (have an Axial XR10)...? I hear that sound every time the rear axle goes sideways and i dont know what to do with it.. Take care..!
Hey medic, I did some perusing in axials site but did not see this rig. I imagine its so where near stock but are the base models xr10's being made anymore?
Nice Debut for your Rock Crawling Arena!
That thing is pretty amazing ... those tires got hella traction and the articulation of those axles WOW!
You could take another front axle put a servo on it and get another receiver and have 4 wheel steering!
I like this new approach of sharing your experience with us novices
that was great.... thanks for walking through the controls and functions like that.......good job
Nice video first time seeing you drive a rock crawler
Great Tutorial of how to DIG ............ Excellent video

Simple video showing some pretty great technique! Awesome!
Cool...I would have never known you were locking out had you not mentioned it but it makes complete sense. Thanks for sharing😊.
Incredible driving thanks for posting
That is some pretty sweet tricks.
Incredible driving , nice video.
WOW! GREAT VIDEO. audio and camera angles.....AWSOME thx.
I love the instructional style of this video. It's probably more time consuming to film and edit but it's a great video!
That was very insightful, I didn't know rock crawling was so involved = thanks for the video...good job my friend.
Great video liked the way you gave examples and explained it all. Thank you.
For me, very informative thanks for the detailed explination! Peace
Great tutorial, thanks Medic !
Right on bud!
Thanks for the stickers :) woohoo
Great videos man. Makes me wanna get some rc trucks again haha
thats a nice crawler
Awesome video Medic I love to learn and be entertained LOL your videos are awesome!
damn medic spiderman ain't got Jack on you man. lol but really man you've got the science of rock crawling down brother. keep up the good work.
great setup, famos how this little beast can handle each terrain, looks really nice, like how the 2 motors are working👌
I am starting to dig this hobby. Great vid!
So after 3 years are you still digging this hobby? Lol
Beauty
That thing is beast!
Under 100 group
Keep up the good work
great video, really enjoyed this, you should one for each category, Short Course Racing, TCC, drifting, carpet racing...etc
OOoohh, Nice Truck!
oh my god its like a monster climb on any rock it is a bestest ever i wanna buy it
Nice. I learned something.
explained well dude
great video mate
nice ride! :)
I have learned new thing thanks Medic Keep it up :)
Old school XR!
That is an amazing machine!i want one so bad!ha ha ha.what a cool truck
That's a nice set up Medic. 👍 I have enough property that I'm gonna build a rock crawling course. Can't let you have all the fun. Haha
Exactly why I do these films to inspire others to do it too!! AWESOME SAUCE!!
Sweet video, I need to get me a XR, looks like way too much fun :-)
Thank You for this.
Sweet video medic
Thanks this helped.
that first crawl really impressed me...I'm lame
and now I just have to have one!!!!
is the losi night crawler a good first crawler
you should take it to the creek and crawl around thats always fun i have a modded summit ti do almost the same thing just it doesnt have wheel locks i run 3 6 cells in it its crazy fast lol
good explications!
That is badazz!
First comment. And love your videos. Keep it up.
Cool vid
Good vid
Love it
Nice
That's cool

Did you use weights in your tires? My rock crawler has a tendincy to flip?
Hey medic great video and I was wondering if you are you getting a yeti and if so whens the unboxing video going to be
cool!
Cool
what kind of motors do you use
i have a question: at the time i'm building a 8x8 truck with 2 brushlessmotors and I want drive the truck like your crawler. i need a radio, where I can connect 2 ESCs and control them separately (like your crawler). witch radio should I choose?

Hi .
What remote are you using?
Can you do a video about radios?? I have a XR10 with 4 wheel steering and I'm not sure which radio to buy.
GT5 flysky .
what do you think of the redact rockslide super crawler?
is there any way I can get a RC crawler with a dig system like this stock?
I've got a bassilisk crawler, should there be anything I should be changing from stock or keep the stock. By the way love your channel
excellent vid ! great info, very helpful to see the explanation . enjoyed watching. B>)

try moving the battery to the front and for down hill slowly go and dont let off the gas or the engine brake will flip u

Cam you buy them set up like this or did you do that? As far as the 2 speed control's

What is a power regulator used for? I assume its for a duel set up?

Cheers Medic! ;D
+RCSparks Studio i got one jest like yours but its longer and red ill post it on my channel
medic when is the ttc
I noticed the front tire would rub the spring on the shock when you turned fully
Hey medic I wanna raise my sisters axial scx10 and I was just wondering is it just suspension coils I need or what do I need to raise enough to notice that it's been raised?
Get a Level 3 RC Lift Kit for the scx10 and what it does is basically moves the shocks down lower which raises the truck up about a 1 1/2-2 1/2 inches!!
preload clips

Where and for about how much could I get a rig like this?
can you get a controller that will do any car, even the cheap 27mhz and 40 mhz. Saving having 100s of controllers round the house.
What kind of transmitter you use for that
medic where did you get that body? i would like it for my xr10.
Please tell me in detail about this radio control track
I am from Japan.
I support you from Japan!
Please do your best!
what weeles are they
2021 ??
Medic what radio/controller are you using in this video please ??
Rig like yours what is it cost cuz that's pretty cool and good web videos to man you really get me inspired
why they discontinued the XR10 is BEYOND ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey man....Awesome video..=) But one question... Is it common for rear axles to sound like your's, and mine as well (have an Axial XR10)...? I hear that sound every time the rear axle goes sideways and i dont know what to do with it.. Take care..!
next time can you use a emaxx with tractor tires for rock climbing
Hey medic, I did some perusing in axials site but did not see this rig. I imagine its so where near stock but are the base models xr10's being made anymore?
+Austin Whitecotton Hi Austin.. you are correct - this model is not available anymore
fuck you
Talk about 4 wheel steer please.
Medic, why don't you have All Wheel steering on your rock crawler? I'm sure it would help to get around tighter angles.
souna do-able lol maybe get 2 front sections of an xr10 and replace the rear with another front section, would be quite cool
4 wheel steer is illegal for comp crawling
Chase Manges Oh, I did not know that.
yup most comps at least all the ones i know of haha.
but it would still be quite good, just have a seperate rc for comp
what is more powerful a brushed motor or a brushless ?
Brushless if you put some gearing in to make it have more torque instead of spead but brushless will make the gears spin faster
Tj wise Thanks
+Brandon Piehr For rock crawling you want brushed IMO. For racing or bashing you want brushless
thanks
Hey RC Sparks I have a I have a RC rock crawler I might want to soup up do you recommend any place or company?
Are you talking while recording or did you record your voice after?
Where did you buy this I can’t find any websites?
with 2 9.5 traxxis moters its kind hard to crawl with but i manage
I have one forsale right now with some hop ups
5:59 Transformers!
