  • I recently (and for the first time!) read Black Science by Rick Remender and Matteo Scalera! I have the Big Beautiful over-sized Premiere Hardcovers volumes 1-3. I have 4k scans and I have thoughts! Check out my review and then feel free to tell me what YOU thought of Black Science (if you read it) down in the comments.

After more than four decades collecting and reading comicbooks and related pop culture (TV, movies, video games, etc) as of 2022 I am sharing reviews/overviews of my collection. The plan is at least one new video every Monday!

Man, I love this channel! Black Science has been on my list for awhile now and after watching this video I might end up just buying them! The image books are great.

I’ve read this series twice! Once about 4 years ago, and again just a few months ago. I loved it even more the second time! One of my favorite works by Remender.
    Great review, Larry!

I read this in the Compendium. The oversized hardcovers is definitely a better way to experience. I reviewed this and had my say there. I’m glad you really enjoyed it.

Great series. I've still only read about a third of it so far. Have to go back to it again.

I have only bought one of Remender's work. All 4 Deadly class deluxe editions. I liked first and second, I absolutely hated 3rd volume and 4th was fine but 3rd book ruined it for me. I haven't bought anything by Remender since then. I might try this one but mostly because of Matteo Scalera's art.

I'm with you when it comes to the Multiverse. I love the concept (when it's done well). By and large, in artistic endeavors, the "how" is way more important than the "what".

For me it really is just an endless fascination and a great plot device if not abused!

Hey, nice review. I still haven't read it but I might move it up in my to read list. If you are interested in knowing more about membranes and M-Theory (or Brane Theory), The Imaginary Axis (brilliant channel, btw) made a video that explains how the DC Multiverse is based on it. The video is called DC's Guide to the Multiverse, take a look, it's really good (no DC knowledge required.)

"Finally, the review I've been waiting for, Larry! You've nailed it. I've got the compendium, but after this, I'm sold on the Library Edition. By the way, loving the calm and cozy vibes in your videos! What camera are you using to capture that cool atmosphere?"

      I'm using a Sony ZV-E10 with a Sony E 15 F1.4 G lens. It was a little pricey but I love it!

Is the title a play of words on black magic...? 🤔
