To everyone who is a prick.
Do you think you could focus on your job with someone screaming at you? Probably be kinda hard. Why should we expect more from an animal? She’s smelling extremely minor scent changes in my body. That’s how medical alerts work. If you couldn’t work being screamed at, why should a dog be expected to do its job while being barked at?? She’s not a robot. It’s no pets for a reason. Federal law protects service animals for a reason.

Maybe a seriously worded email with videos of the dogs to Walmart will get them to be more stricked on pets? I don't think they would want a law suit. You should tell them each time you see a dog react you have to take the law into your own hands or your dog won't be able to focus and that also causes you anxiety which can just escalate everything other health issue you have. if you don't say anything since the employees don't do much to help so you have to say something for them causing you emotional distress with Walmart employees and managers being uneducated and having to educate they're employees every time this happens while the the pet owner flees with no reproductions. They really need to take this seriously before someone dies and they have a law suit from the family. It shouldn't be your job to educate them on what is illegally happening in they're store they should already be trained. This email need to go beyond management tbh

Do you think a doctor can preform a surgery whike being screamed at? No they could make a critical error if not focused. Your line of work is different so don't be judgmental.

Honestly, with the size difference, she's lucky to still have her dog at all. Absolutely inexcusable behaviour. My assistance dog is fairly big, thankfully, and has been able to defend himself well in the past (not while working, his brother's owners were very irresponsible and let him attack my dog 3x) but I still worry about him becoming reactive if another dog attacks him. I can't imagine the anxiety small SD handlers go through...Also, if you're going to put your dog in a cart (illegal), at least DON'T LET THEM JUMP OUT OF THE CART!! Jesus.

@Koolc77 Yes it will because the only way for that to happen would mean business owners would constantly be hounding people with real service animals. Especially the nonfriendly type that don't like animals. There are plenty of vids on youtube alone with ppl with real service animals getting discriminated against.
They don't need another excuse to do it. If it wouldn't impact real service animals then the government and ADA would have done it already.
Not everyone's gonna do the homework and educate themselves on the difference between a real and fake service animal. They are going to just call the cops every time they see an animal and let them deal with it. You think that wouldn't impact disabled people at all? They've been trying to come up with a way to do it for years but haven't found one yet that wouldn't discriminate against real SA's.

Not related to this but I'm so proud of my school.
A mother with a service dog was walking past and a few kids went to pay it and I just saw my friend say no don't pet it.
I don't think it was a service dog I thing it was an emotional support dog. It seemed VERY scared of everyone and the (I was kinda far away) dog didnt look like it had the normal patches. But either way still very well behaved and in a good heel. How ESD should be not barking not sniffing around not any of that and definitely NOT in the cart or in hands or being held back.
I am pretty sure I might be getting a SD. I'm getting tested for some things for the diagnosis n also for PTSD n other stuff. Im kinda scared. I don't live in America and I havnt seen many fake SD. Maybe the odd one or 2 a year thankfully.

It does not matter if it's barking or not it's a pet not a service dog it lellgay can not be there it's a non pet friendly store let alone in a shopping cart. It's actually illegal unless it's a service animal.
Not only is a health code violation but also a misdemeanor it's basically claiming a pet as a trained service animal if you take that pet onto a place that only service animals can go.
Even Service animals are not allowed in shopping carts it's a health code violation and illegal
The U.S. Department of Justice released this week a new technical assistance document entitled “Frequently Asked Questions About Service Animals and the ADA.” It is in that document that it is made clear that service animals are not allowed in shopping carts.
This document is intended to clarify questions about the official ADA regulations related to service animals. Title III of the ADA laws is the one that pertains to service animals.

I lost my service dog of 12 years, he never reacted or responded to other dogs or people. I could not have asked for a better dog his training was perfect. I see people with untrained dogs all the time. I never said anything about it because my Bear was never distracted by them, I was lucky to have had my Bear for 12 wonderful years. People who bring pets into stores are not fooling anyone with a real service dog. People do not understand the difference between a service dog and an emotional support dog. Business can deny access to emotional support dogs but as long as a service dog is well trained and of course non aggressive the only places they aren't allowed are a burn unit and an operating room. Bear was my constant companion and never once acted out. Bear slept by my side every night. He was a diabetic dog so he had to able to smell my breath he alerted me many times at night when my blood sugar was too low. He saved my life more than once. My advice to you is to train your dog not to react to other animals and people, it will be much better than a constant battle with life's idiots. Life is way too short to worry about what other people are doing wrong. Good luck to you.

@@noellethomas2589 Wal-Mart is notorious for not upholfing the ADA laws or doing ANYTHING about fake dogs until someone gets hurt.
The youtuber Service Dog Paws litterly had to put herself in harms way in the past just to get a manager make them obey not just corprate policy but also THE LAW.
There have been many service dog teams injured disabled people hurt NEARLY KILLED by people bringing pets that are agessive and Wal-Mart shutting a blind eye until someone got hurt.
In another place just like this there was a six year old girl whose face got mauled do to a manager and the workers doing NOTHING when a wonan brought in a clearly untrained "service dog into their place of employment.
      Wal-Mart corpetate page says:
Walmart welcomes service animals as defined by the ADA in our stores, and we recognize the important role they play in many of our customers' lives. We do not allow pets in our stores.
Can I put my puppy or dog in a stroller and take it into a Walmart store?
No, you cannot take your dog in a stroller into a Walmart store. Only service dogs are allowed in the store, and a service dog should not be in a stroller.
Can I carry my dog in Walmart?
No, you cannot carry your dog in a Walmart store. Walmart policy only allows service dogs in the store, and they are not to be carried.
      Ada Law says:
Only service animals have public access right. Service animals are dogs or mini horses that have public access rights and are protect by the ADA law. They preform life saving tasks or a task that there handler can not do them self such as ( guide, medical alert, mobility, fetching, getting help exct) emotional support is not a task by the ADA law.
Bringing a non service animal into a service dog only establishment is claiming that animal as a service animal. Falsely labeling your animal can result in a fine up to 1,000 dollars and 6 months in jail and community service depending on your state. You will also be held responsible for injuries inflicted on a service animal if your pet attacks a working dog.

Although it is possible for service dogs to be trained to ignore other dogs that doesn’t really matter. A service dog may be able to ignore other dogs but then might also ignore a signal.
Bear in mind as well that Mya is young and inexperienced and cannot just ignore other dogs and even if that is a trainable skill, is Dom just supposed to self isolate at home for years until Mya learns to ignore other dogs (a skill that may not even be teachable)?
It’s a good idea but Dom is no idiot and has had multiple service dogs, she is an experienced service dog handler so she undoubtedly knows whether you can train a service dog to ignore other dogs or not.
Also if it was so easy to train a service dog to ignore other dogs, why are the other dogs banned from stores/why is it illegal to distract a service dog?

Fellow service dog handler here. Honest question: Who is being more distracting to the dog? Random other dogs that if you ignored them might encounter you twice in store or you panicking over every dog you see and creating confrontational distractions? No, those dogs shouldn't have been in Walmart, but your anxiety has a scent, too, and it's likely making for a confusing cocktail when you're angry and anxious.
I tended to do the same at first and all of that gets transmitted down the leash. I realized my health was more important than trying to police the world. Me and my service dog are better off for it.

And so while I could save myself some anxiety and some trouble and some chest pain and my heart problems, etc. I still choose to do it. Because in the long run, I think trying to make a differences more important to me personally, then, just trying to look out for my own welfare. I don’t expect everyone to do what I do. The dog barking at the service animal is indeed very wrong. The owner should NOT have brought her into the store. It is incredibly dangerous of her.
HOWEVER, a pet being in the store that is not causing issues or barking/growling/etc. should not be distracting to a trained service animal. Service animals are tasked to ignore distractions. Of course, barking and antagonizing people/dogs should NOT BE ALLOWED in these areas, and yes that dog was not supposed to be in this particular store, but again I think that this particular situation was a bit of an overreaction. My SDiT is currently in the focus/distraction phases of training and he is trained to ignore these particular distractions in the real world.
To summarize: No that dog and owner should NOT have been there. The dog barking was definitely a confirmation of that. But a service dog should be trained to ignore/avoid these encounters.
EDIT: To ALL owners in these situations, it is NOT the dog's fault. It is the owners. Do NOT blame the dog directly. Blame the owner.

Other than that I would try to avoid them purposefully, like if you see them coming make sure they see you turn and quick walk away (more so they get the message than anything else).
Other than that maybe try to ask them to take their dogs away politely? Then use the fact that they are breaking the law if they refuse. I’m just thinking if I was in Bitch’s shoes and I took my dog into a store I’m not going to turn away just because one woman immediately got shitty with me. Maybe get Austin to help you?

If we were together almost all the time, she wouldn’t be scared and I wouldn’t be inclined to meltdown in the case of a confrontation or disagreement with someone, and if I did meltdown she would be trained to sit on me (so basically the cat equivalent of pressure therapy) and then purr (because I just love her purring) to calm me down and get me back to a functioning state. The only other meltdown plans I have are a) leave the area which usually means straight up leaving the building, b) drink over half my body weight in liquids, or c) distract myself with some kind of electronic device. a and c make me come off as rude, and b causes me gut issues in the long run so, not good)

      @midnightbel 3 года назад +6

As someone with POTS, you can still drive. It is more like if we are having bad days we don't drive obviously, but if we are feeling fine usually it is okay. We are sitting too at the time not stuck standing for long periods of time so the blood usually doesn't pool as badly in our legs. If feeling lightheaded in the car ride you pull over and maybe call someone if you are not with anyone at the time. Having a service dog in this scenario can be incredibly helpful too because we can't always tell when we will be hit with a fainting episode and so can be alerted to it, however most of the time you get this feeling of illness, lightheadness, or just know I don't know exactly how to describe it. If you feel any of those things again you just pull over or don't drive on that day to begin with if it has been a rough day or week for fainting spells.

I'm not trying to start anything with you, and my Mother's has severe diabetes, so I get what you go through. So if someone is suicidal and has an emotional support dog that helps to keep them alive, why is that any different!?

    • @laylonlee229
      @laylonlee229 2 года назад +1

If a dog helps with certain things like that, then it is considered to be a service dog. I was considering getting one because I have anxiety, depression, PTSD, severe panic disorder, AND agoraphobia. Even if you have just a mental illness(es), it's still a service dog that's WELL TRAINED. An emotional support dog (most of the time) is for someone who doesn't have a disability. (A disability is something that effects people in their everyday life). And with that being said, emotional support animals are for people that maybe don't like heights etc., so they would take them on a plane or something like that. And most of the time emotional support animals aren't trained. At least not like service dogs. Service dogs are dogs that are TRAINED and helps with EVERYDAY tasks. If someone had a trained dog for a mental illness like depression or suicidal thoughts etc. then that's not a emotional support dog, it's a service dog. There is a big difference between them. Plus it's ADA Law that emotional support animals not be allowed in public spaces in certain situations.

For some stupid reason your page keeps being recommend to me so once again I think oh no here we go again, what's this chic's problem now !!! This is now the forth video I have watched. I just watched your rant so here comes mine.
You are truly paranoid to think this woman was purposely walking past you. If you take note of everyone who walks past you multiple times you would think multiple people are just following you as you think this woman was. Her dog barked twice, it wasn't aggressive and MSD are trained to ignore these things as it could happen to you walking down the road or from your car to the shop, that's life, what are you going to do ban all dogs from public because they might distract your dog ?? Come on be real. You shouldn't be driving if you have these medical issues because whether or not you sitting or standing you can pass out, FACT ! So your putting everyone else on the road at risk, especially while talking into a camera while driving, just like talking on a phone it's distracting you when you should be concentrating on driving ! You stated in a previous video when you were at a open market or fair where a child was hitting your dog in the face with her toy that your dog isn't a certified medical assistance dog because you don't have paperwork to show that she is and it's against the law to make you show them, WTF !! Well it should be law so people who lie and say their dogs are medical assistance dogs are excluded, your fighting a law your trying to enforce which is just stupid on your behalf and what your saying your trying to stop !!!! I'm not saying you are faking your medical issues I totally believe you and have compassion for your health issues but your dog isn't a medical assistance dog. Dogs lick like that when their anxious if she was alerting you to your medical needs she would be nudging you or pawing at you to get your attention that you need help, she doesn't do that, ever. She couldn't help you get out of a house fire let alone let you know your going to pass out, FFS give me a break. Now you proved that you can't speak to people with respect because that child at the market, your comments were you didn't think it was right to ' go off at a kid when their parents should have told them off ' when you could have said nicely, please don't do that to my dog !! But you can't be nice, you just go off at people. You can't help yourself it seems, very sad. I feel sorry for you that you can't communicate or think rationally. Now that woman's dog was on a blanket, yes not nice but shopping trolleys aren't very hygienic anyway but also your baby carrier was in the trolley which I think is just as disgusting and unhygienic as I'm sure like most people you put it on the ground from time to time. I'm not hating on you hun, but when you put yourself out there on social media don't expect every comment to be in your favour. The world isn't perfect and neither are us people and I wish for you and everyone in America no animals apart from registered certified medical assistant dog's were allowed in public places as they are here in Australia. Please stop going off at people and please go see your congress member and fight in the chamber's to have the laws changed and enforced otherwise your just bitching for nothing !

For one. There is no certifacation for service animsls in the US.
Dog in a cart health code violation and breaking ADA law. Pets are not granted public access only service dogs are.
Bringing in a pet is basically misrepresenting it as a service dog which under the ADA is a felony.
Plus if that dog hurts or distracts an actual service dog and said dog misses a medical alert it can kill the owner.

Wrong. The ladies dog is a pet which by law is not permitted in the store.
Wal-Mart is notorious for not upholfing the ADA laws or doing ANYTHING about fake dogs until someone gets hurt.
The youtuber Service Dog Paws litterly had to put herself in harms way just to get the manager make them obey corprate policy but also THE LAW.

      Please educate yourself.
Number one service dog only allowed there not pets. Plus with the barking it proves to be a distractuon for a service animal which can cause a missed medical alert and kill the disabled owner.
Number two the dog is in a shopping cart. It goes against policy and law.
The new FAQ ¬_ specifically Question 31 _ states that stores are not required to allow service animals in shopping carts. Another question relates to the protocol for restaurants, bars and other eateries. The document also specifies other particulars for service animals, including that service animals are allowed in restaurants, bars and other such places but must remain on the floor and cannot be seated.

I have a condition called, Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia aka IST. Basically, my resting rate is over 100bpm. When I stand up, walk to fast my heart rate shoots up to anywhere between 130-160's. I have been lucky that medication (beta blockers), keep my heart rate down to 88bpm so if I am moving to fast it will only shoot up to, at most, 120's. This causes me to stop till my HR comes down and I can catch my breath.

I work at Harris Teeter and I saw a dog in a cart which seemed a bit odd to me. It didn't have any vest or anything. I have to sweep the store every hour and when I was going past the lady and her dog in a cart in an isle the dog didn't bark so I'm glad that nothing came out of that.

I hate when people bring pets in the store. Emotional support animals are not service animals.

Good for you calling her out!!! Bravo! Sorry you had to deal with this. You shouldn’t have to educate the employees. They should know better! Glad you did though!

I have a Guide Dog in training we have have had multiple people bother us or prevent Angel from focusing on me and her job. It’s really annoying.
