We’ve flown in a few times and it’s a nice but small airport. I’m assuming they will expand with the increase in population of the area as well as the under-construction Amazon warehouses and the new Smith & Wesson headquarters being built nearby. I do enjoy seeing all the posters of weapons confiscated by security each time we visit. Can’t believe they can keep updated those pictures!
McGhee Tyson is the best regional airport I’ve ever been to. Compared to Tri-Cities and Asheville, it beets the heck out of them.

I'm curious about that too!! Maybe they do that to discourage passengers from bringing weapons to the airport, because, well, it's illegal!
