can't describe how amazing it feels to drive these in the army compared to other veichles. even the 5.6 ton armored version can go drifting in the mud! but the breaks aren't that good, and in a 8 hours shift it will drink up to 10-15 gallons of diesel.
@@roklobsta1986 that was my favorite racing game at the time, the sequels were good too. I need to throw together a Pentium 2 and play them again some time.
Comfort in a civilian vehicle and comfort in a military vehicle are two completely separate things. Military vehicles aren't meant to have interiors full of leather and wood. Suspension, space and not being hit by a 7.62 through paper thin metal walls are pretty god damn comfortable to me.
The H1 is an amazing vehicle. It is easy to drive and very capable in all terrains. My next project is to buy a used one and bring it back into spec. but add a Duramax LML engine and an Allison six-speed transmission.
This film makes you want one for sure. Have you seen our video of the Hummer driving COMPLETLEY under water Brandon? Got to be the maddest Hummer video out there.
Now this is what an SUV should be: durable enough for the most extreme off-road use, yet with creature comforts to drive comfortably anywhere. And with a diesel engine to boot. I like that. It's too bad it's no longer being sold for general public use.
its made to get from A to B any way possible i drive a jeep that is made for off road a hummer h1 dosn't flex at all but they will be waiting for you at the finishing line
Thats the truth Hummer is not For Every one, In my country (dominican Republic) is a Off Road track In Bani, i have seen H2 Ruling that, but i always wanted to see the H1 Nice Video
I filled mine up twice so far and drove all over my damn mountain. I was happy about that as well. still got like half a tank and snow just hit so today will be fun.
yeah ok i know what you mean kinda point for you,...actually i was thinking what you were writting about "stock-offroad-vehicles"...cause unimog is also "stock-offroad-vehicle",...that you don`t have to modify and still is very etreme good in offroad stuff ;-))
I traded my muscle car for a 1990 M998. Mainly because of this election and snow. This thing is a beast. I have the tan truck type. One of my better choices in this life. Big Time fun.
HoopD#Humvee M998 We got a 2012 ford raptor possibly also because of the election Single greatest decision of our lives we love it I like to think the Raptor is what the hummer was supposed to be a huge heavy pickup truck with an enormous engine At least the first generation the new 2017 is an embarrassment with that V6
+Golden Retriever Ford makes a quality truck that's for sure. Raptors are bad ass I like them, probably my favorite ford pickup. I wanna get something more modern soon. It was a fun thanksgiving enjoying the H1 with the family. Happy Holidays friend.
HoopD#Humvee M998 I sat in an H1 once at an auto show It was actually hilarious seeing how the seats are so far apart If i could own multiple cars an H1 would be one of them
That V6 sounds like a weed wacker and it's such a heartbreak because i think its modernly very handsome. If i ever got one a V8 or diesel switch out for sure.
itsbasil1126 I'd put a 5.0 twin turbo in there And put a bumper sticker by the exhaust pipes that says Dear Ford this is how American trucks are supposed to sound
SilentHunterAnd - I currently have the H2 and though it's not horrible like non owners claim them to be...it will never have the true capabilities of an H1.
So many people are stupid and hating on hummer i have 2 hummers 1 being used another one never used before waiting in a storage space i can say the hummer is allot better then the normal jeep that people say will do just as good yes they can do just as good but the design of the hummer and the stuff in it makes it allot better,
I was looking for one too but they're only allowed for of road use only. I don't think you can use it as a daily driver. If you know where I can get one for daily use let me know.
Lmao I almost fell over when I heard that. Mine is a total nightmare at 50. I have my run flats in though, definitely effects ride quality. It is actually very nimble and tight feeling behind the wheel. It turns fine at speed, the motor just revs high and it makes me feel like I don't want an engine Overhaul. Big money. Not a highway rig but very fun on my property.
Steve's guns & gear yea it used to. It was called the mammoth patriot. Now it's a civ h2 with same name. Now there's a mammoth pack that includes it. But it's called the patriot clasic.
@Ultra9k Horsepower, the measurement of mechanical power is a function of both Torque & the angular velocity of the power source. The ratios by which they are applied can be altered via gearing or at the source via altering the design of the engine that is generating power. For lower speed offroad travel an engine that generates peak power with a high torque to Angular velocity (RPM) ratio is desirable. Diesel engines by design offer such ratios. The opposite is desirable in a race car.
@coolgames14 Correct. It's fair to say horse power and torque are not related, a bus generates relatively low HP but exceptionally high torque. The Jeep I own, 3.0 Mercedes diesel, more torque than 5.7 HEMI, but lower HP. Mitsubishi evo, very high bhp, low torque - eg towing or fully loaded it would struggle. Military vehicles including tanks weighing 40+tonnes may produce1000 hp, but 1000hp will not move that weight alone, and it calculate to 25hp per tonnes, but 25,000 lb/ft of torque will.
@Ultra9k Well, you must remember that vast majority of posters are enthusiast & not engineers. Most simply repeat what they have been told by someone they respect. Some at first may have been "told the whole story" but as the story is told over & over it gets reduced down to a somewhat incorrect one...
@halflife103 "This is a vehicle that can keep you safe through most situations and can get you almost anywhere. Not for Fuel Economy." Fuel economy is not an issue so I guess the recession America keeps talking about was false and there was no real problem with the economy of that country. It proves there is no recession when it can afford to power one vehicle that takes two power stations to fuel it. (I did ask for the actual cost but of course no answer).
The military uses the 6.5L and the reason their looking into new vehicles is the 190hp isn't really enough the get the fully armored 15k beast around. Banks is making a turbo system for the military though so they can prolong the life of these old dogs.
It's nice in swamps and dessert area's, but it's to wide to patrol in centre of old cities or in dense forest (try to follow a suzuki samurai :-)), it is to slow to catch anybody once you're on tarmac (and lets be honest, most badies try to get away using a road). It is also incredibly heavy making it much harder to use a float. In my opinion it is a mighty machine, but not as versatile as the original jeep.
"If you find these feats amazing its because they are" Best quote ever.
I like how they explain all the safety features. It falls down to the other guy loosing, unless they're an 18 wheeler.
he almost convinced me to buy a humvee. good sales pitch
That tire pressure system... is awesome.

Love this commercial - these trucks are awesome!
Humman Off-Road Adventures it’s not a truck. It’s a humvee
I just bought one from the Gov Surplus..gotta wait two months to clear the paper work. Cant wait to pickit up.
So did u ever pick it up? How is it
yes, did you? footage!!
"Man! Hummers are built like tanks!" "No, no, no. Tanks are built like hummers."
this vehicle is the most amazing all terrain truck vehicle of all time I've ever seen!!! 😁
Even in 240p those clips still look better than they did in Test Drive: Off Road. Now I wanna listen to some Gravity Kills

thats the best ad i have ever seen and ill take two
Hell yah, these things are fun as fuck to drive offroad in places that you'd never think you'd be able to go.
That guy completly sold me on that humvee!
wow one of the intro cutscenes from test drive offroad 3 nice
thats the best ad i have ever seen
No cold no Summer I like only HUMMER 💪

More like 7.3
I still have my H1, I love it
I can't tell you how many times I've used my H1 to pull other cars and trucks out of snow and mud
Do you still have it?
@@V8AmericanMuscleCar no sold that pile, it was cool at the time but the damn thing started falling apart so I sold it before it became my problem

These are only missing ONE option: A budget the size of the US Military to keep this beast fuelled up.

A Hummer is not for everyone. They're special, and should be treated as such. A Hummer is for... special occasions.
@3:11 does that work with the H2? pressing the brake and gas at the same time to have lockers?
i joined the army because of this beast
Amazing.
is this from Discovery Channel's 1996 series Extreme Machines?
That video reminded me soo much of it for some reason...
I know right? I watch this video before I take the garbage out. Gets me Jacked Up! haha

One day, I shall have my own...
It's torque that matters for offroading. Twisting power. And with 400+ ft lb it's more than capable.
I loved these ever since I saw one, the only problem is the extra long wheelbase, so I got a wrangler instead :D.
were do i buy one?

thinking about getting a military surplus humvee. only thing keeping me from doing that is the terrible gas mileage, which cost a fortune
