Grew up seeing that but didn't learn to cook and my dad did not appreciate what she did all day long. He was from Spain and was a tyrant. Never saw love between them. So no matter what she did in house, he would still stay away days at a time. Messed me up as the only girl. You are not lying. My ex’s mom was his alarm clock. He’s a state trooper grown boy that has his mom call him at 04:00am to wake him up so he’s not late. At the time, if he didn’t pick up she’d have the audacity to call ME!🤦🏽♀️ And when I would tell him she needs to stop he said I was just jealous because she loves him and she wouldn’t have to call him if I did my job as a girlfriend/alarm clock.😳 He was in his mid 30s mommy still waking him up! 🤣

I'm like your wife with the cleaning and being embarrassed if it's not perfect. No one can come to my house unless it's 100% clean. As a single mom to 2 ADHD kids I had to learn to relax a lil. It was draining and I had no time for myself. Now, I live my life on what's most important. I'm still clean but not too the point where it wears me out! I love how honest you are.

You’re so right Tony. I was exactly the mom in my last relationship with my fiancé and as soon as I had our son, I realized that he was a man toddler the whole time I was with him. I left him because I have a son to raise. I don’t wanna raised my fiancé. I needed a man, a father, a partner. I was exhausted and not going to allow my son to be like him or grow up to expect women to be under a man.

This is real I didn’t know how to cook when entering a relationship with a grown man and got judged & it hurt me so bad and my mom knew how to cook very well but she had to also get to the money and didn’t have time...but oh how I’ve learned so much in many areas now I’m better than ever! My ex use to get upset with me whenever I would turn my back, while sleeping. I was only sleeping how it was comfortable to me. I would still sleep with my back turned away, because I needed my rest. Great refresh video, i saw most of that in my upbringing with my parents. They just picked up where the other left off. No one in our household had any specific duties. The girls took the garbage out as the boys also do the dishes and or cleaned. We had no gender roles growing up.Up to today we are still like that...I Love ❤️ sheri’s happy and playful laughing in the air. Your face just light up in her presence. Tony must know my ex husband. I was going to go to the grocery store, cook, clean, wash clothes, put the clothes up, ask to borrow money, while we are splitting bills 50/50. Wouldn’t help do anything except cut the grass in the summer every other week. Not supportive of my career, no respect for my thoughts, put his kids before me. He get up go to work, come home, scratch and watch tv. Did I say EX Husband, smh..

Tony every time I listen to you you teach me something else. What you are saying is so true and so real and relevant because life does get busy and when we put those ideas in our heads it's just another thing that messes up our relationships before we even get started. There are no specific roles for certain genders its about the understanding you have with your spouse. Thank you Tony for bring that up about parents bring children into this world, and how there's a season for a reason. That touched me, because in my case, as I'm sure I'm not the only one. There are parents that want to live out there "dream" while dragging their childrens emotions. There's ways of doing your dream at the right season. Half of childhood trama comes from the parents still figuring out their own lives and the children are the once that suffer. Children are a real life commitment. They will shape society and be part of the parents legacy. There's a season for everything in life as God's word states.

Great talk Tony. I was thinking to myself how much I admire my Dad for being an example. He doesn't believe in depending on my Mom for everything and he doesn't expect my Mom to do everything. Most times my Mom doesn't feel like cooking from a long day working at the "front line" and he'll cook something for the both of them. It's so nice to see an example of genuine love and I can't even lie I do get emotional because I'm like "Man, I can only dream cause a love like this seem unreal." Coach thank you for real life , showing this is so valuable. It’s taken me awhile to detach my own self worth to how much I got done in the house. My mama raised me that that was a wife’s duty etc. She didn’t mean any harm but I had to shift my paradigm.
