this is incorrect, the difference is that on SIMM's, the CONNECTORS on the bottom are the same on both sides and on DIMM's they are different on each side. It has nothing to do with the memory chips. That is classified as SS (single sided) or DS (double sided), also modern sticks of RAM are single sided.

@mikitymike yeah that'z what I read. simm: copper contact are the same on the both sides of the ram. DIMM: different copper contacts on the both sides of the ram(more contacts with mobo)
