In the 50's Suva Grammar School consisted of Boy's Grammar and Girl's Grammar schools, two different schools and mostly catered for children of European descents. Apparently separately development was adopted by the then British government'. That policy was encouraged throughout the British Empire - but by the early 60's other races were admitted to the Grammar school to sit for their University Entrance exams. Today it's quite different as I can see. . . .well done and Good Luck with your work !!
Sue Erridge -(nee Welsh - my dad still lives in Fiji) I started school in the primary school in 1955 in Suva - my first teacher was Mrs. Anderson - does anyone remember her? I moved on to the Girls Grammar School and to the new School at Veiutu in the early 60s when it was first opened. It was co-ed by then. It was quite strange to see my school again, but It doesn't seem to have changed much over the years. Happy days!
If I remember right in the beginning that was our classroom 502,2000. School mate was sikipio fihaki, Joshua manoa, Sera, Tex, Anthony, fale,..... forgot it's been a long time.mrs Azam was our geo. Teacher, Joe ,......if you can get me the school photo from the school magazine it would be great. In grammar I learned a lot even today still remnez those time. 🦁 for eva
