  • Last chase scene of the pilot episode of Hardcastle And McCormick called Rolling Thunder. Flip's daughter just gave McCormick the Coyote to remember her by when she goes to law school. McCormick has an appointment with his parole officer he'll be late for if he don't gun it!! Enjoy!

      @saverider227;
      Do You actually think this scene is an 'awesome car chase' with 'awesome cars' ??!! 🙄
      This scene, to me, is rather 'drab', dull and typically poor without any excitement, drama or possible reality, even for TV.
      Perhaps You are particularly drawn to the looks of the Coyote X vehicle, which is just a fabricated 'lookalike' of some classic European sports, performance cars and not an actually real sports, performance vehicle. 🤔
      Perhaps You could just state You personal attraction 😌 to this fabricated vehicle appearance and perhaps find the actual vehicle(s) it is based upon. The comment about the scene has clear baseless, meaningless, nonsense basis, and just some personal attraction to that Coyote X vehicle exterior design and look. [correct ?🤔]
      🙄
      If the drive from LV to LA or whichever part of So. CA Hardcastle has to meet his parole officer will take 5 hours [@ 55 MPH], having just 3 hours [why did Judge McCormick have him leaving so late ?!]; 55 MPH x 5 hrs.= 275 mi. / 3 hrs. = 91.33; some portion of the distance to the office is certainly on local, city streets and more local highway roads in which such speeds cannot be so high, especially if aware and familiar with the streets and roads there (as i am, living there then; May 1982- Jan. 1993).
      Are We aware of the distance from LV to the CA boarder? Also, the sign shows I-15, which is correct, but it is NOT a two lane, undivided highway either. Rather, as all Interstate Highways are a minimum of being a four lane, divided highway, two-lanes in each direction. Also, if the local LV PD were chasing a vehicle, the officer would radio for backup to assist ahead, including the HP especially and certainly. if necessary form a blockade, and certainly not await for the vehicles to arrive to begin the chase, and more so for the length of distance from LV to the CA boarder on I-15. Also, if the Nevada HP were not able to contain the vehicle, they would also contact the CHP for assistance and be in radio contact to contain or block the vehicle at the boarder. The CHP then had specially modified Mustangs with quick acceleration, high performance engines, suspension, etc. which were purposely purchased and implemented to contain the numerous high performance vehicles available and private performance shops already in existence, which many criminals were using intentionally. By the next decade LAPD had these special police Mustangs too, for local highway and inner city chase as needed [see "End of Watch" and the opening chase scene; a Grand, exciting, dramatic, well done chase scene too!]
      There are many far superior in many shows prior and afterward. Even Night Rider, McGiver, many COP, private detective shows including Mission Impossible, "Starsky and Hutch", "The Dukes of Hazard", "A-Team", and "Hill Street Blues" [of this time period and slightly previous], among many others have better scenes !
      TV has always been significantly inferior compared with motion pictures, especially with car scenes, vehicles, car chases.
      A classic car chase and new manner of filming exists in the car chase scene with Gene Hackman in the starring role of "The French Connection: [1971 (release)], which pre-dates this show by more than a dozen years!
      Also the chase scenes in the 1971 motion picture "Vanishing Point" with the white 1971 Dodge Challenger R/T [claimed original five, four were 440, one 383, all four speed (all scraped)] are Grand, superior, dramatic, exciting and with quality, which this scene has no comparison with either. The 1997 remake used white 1970 Challenger R/T [426 Hemi, four speed, 4:10 Dana-60 diff.] and also has superior, worthwhile chase scenes.
      How do You compare this with many of the car chase scenes within the James Bond series of the 1970's, 1980's, 1990's, 2000's, 2010's ?! One of their best is the opening scene of "Quantum of Solace"; have You seen it?! Even their poorest are better and in a different class and level than this ! They have a few good scenes in "Casino Royal" with perhaps their best there being with the last, with JB driving his Aston Martin in chase to catch the vehicle with Vesper. There are numerous to mention, in nearly every motion picture of that series.
      And how can We leave out the chase scene in the Christopher Nolan Batman series motion pictures and that 'Batmobile', which is also a motion picture fabrication [many versions for various purposes]! Certainly the scenes in the first Batman motion picture are among the superior, high level class and level. Add the scenes in "The Dark Knight" and "The Dark Night Returns" [which the first chase scene with the return of "The Batman" is clearly superior ! And the Final chase scene is clearly Grand and among the best !]
      Shall We include the many Grand chase scenes within the Jason Bourne series too, which can hardly be left out !
      Sincerely. 😅

      The car that McCormick drove, the Coyote X, was built from custom molds based on the McLaren M6GT.[1] The original Coyote X was molded, modified and assembled by Mike Fennel. The nose, windshield doors and lower body (minus the ventral intakes) are faithful representations of the McLaren; the cut down rear deck, however, was a custom component that became a feature on many Manta Montage kits with damaged or removed rear windows. The most noticeable differences between the Coyotes and Mantas are the wheel wells, roll pan height and shape, and the fact that the Coyote has a one piece front clip that terminates about an inch before and surrounding the windshield.
      Most of the cars made for the show were molded and assembled by either Mike Fennel or Unique Movie Cars. Like many kit cars of the time, the car uses a chassis from a Volkswagen Beetle and its engine from a Porsche 914.[2][3] For the second and third seasons, producers used a different Coyote which was based on a De Lorean DMC-12, as Brian Keith had difficulty getting in and out of the original Coyote.[4]
      The Season 2 and Season 3 Coyote does not resemble the Manta, as the front is larger than the original, making the car resemble a front-engined car. A Season 1 car that was used in the production of Hardcastle and McCormick is owned by a private owner in southern New Jersey.[citation needed] The stunt car was reconfigured for the Knight Rider 2000 television pilot, then consequently turned into Jay Ohrberg's show car "Taz-Mobile".[5][citation needed] In April 2011, the car was sold and shipped to Texas where it will be re-bodied back to its Coyote configuration, retaining as many of the original Coyote pieces as possible.[citation needed] A Season 2 car appeared briefly on the sixth episode of Season 5 of the sitcom Married... with Children.

      Your statement and think is typical with the nonsense of most all people who write their comments; usually attempting to show their knowledge, but instead reveal their ignorance 🙄 and confusion 😳.
      A judge, clearly is part of the judicial system, courts and when accused persons are brought to trial.
      A parole officer is within the Law enforcement agency, which is actually empowered by the executive branch.
      The judge can only judge according to the laws and accusations presented, and can decide leniency of the sentence if determined guilty. 😊
      Of course a corrupt judge may adjust the decision, but then the case can be appealed by either side and result in a different decision, also depending upon if that judge is honest or corrupt. 😒
      It may be possible for the judge to have contacts, relationships within the law enforcement including the parole enforcement to affect the strictness of that officer, a report or leniency, which is often portrayed in these media type shows, motion pictures, etc. 😊
      The writers will portray the situation as they see fit to convey, portray the narrative they want and desire, whether to whichever imagined false reality they choose. 😔
      It seems You are well indoctrinated into such media portrayals and think those as possible 'realities', when they are just imagined or a combination of some unusual corruption. 🤔
      Now, Our political, government system is so full of such distortion, corruption these irregularities have become the norm, and worse than these media portrayal ever presented. Actually, much of this has existed for many decades, and more hidden, now more revealed and opposed by the Media, banned by the social media [for those who actually know] including the most heinous of them; this y/t platform taken over by one of the many Agency controlled, as In-Q-Tel partners - AB,inc. -[Big]G 😒
      Hop this is useful, helpful and taken in the way an manner with which it is intended. 😊
      Hope for Your Best and Much Success in Your Quest, Health and Well Being. 😁

      Brian Keith died in 1997. I still think this series would be perfect for a reboot as Daniel Hugh Kelly is in his late 60s and per the series finale was starting law school in 1986. He could be a judge getting ready to retire and a relative of Hardcastle's (his niece perhaps had a kid sometime after 1986) could end up in McCormick's court as his last case. It would be the perfect continuation similar to what they did with Roseanne/the Conners. McCormick would now be the wise old judge and the series would have continuity with the original. He could even live at Gull's Way since Hardcastle said he was going to will it to him in "do not go gentile", the episode where Hardcastle thought he only had a few months to live.

    @cavalierfan1995 If they redid this, i have the perfect idea for it. Daniel hugh kelly could reprise his roll as mccormick, but instead would be the hardcastle type charactor since he was going to law school in 1986, it's plausable that he could be a judge getting to retire some 25 years later. then we could say one of hardcastle's relatives, like his brother, could have had a son we never met, and is now in mccormick's court. basically it's not a remake but a continuation.

    • @hustlerburns
      @hustlerburns 4 года назад +1

      Love the idea, but instead of one on McCormick's relatives, what if the grandson of Hardcastle lands into his court for stealing cars to fund his car racing habit. The son of the son of the judge that nobody knew about. Because the son and Hardcastle was estranged, so maybe the son never told the baby's mother about grandpa. So you can keep the name "Hardcastle and McCormick", but now its about what Hardcastle did for McCormick, but now McCormick must do for Hardcastle's grandson.

    • @pdennis93
      @pdennis93 4 года назад +1

      @@hustlerburns that's what I meant. I meant the ex con would be one of Hardcastle's relatives with McCormick as the judge. Basically a role reversal.
      Iirc Hardcastle's only son was killed in Vietnam so even if he had a son that milt never knew, he'd be well into his 50s by now, almost as old as McCormick. It would be more likely that Hardcastle's niece had a son sometime after the series ended in 1986. That would probably be the most logical avenue for a Hardcastle character at a similar age to McCormick when he was in Hardcastle's court in 1983.
      McCormick was 28-29 at the time H&M started as IIRC his 30th birthday occurred in season 2.

    I miss the Crown Victoria cop cars. They have been an iconic amd upmost reliable car for the police force for years. Many Toronto police officers who were in the force when the Crown Victorias were used all say that it had better maneuver than the Chargers and Journey, especially when they were on a chase. Very good on the corners. Cop cars from the 80s were my favourite for whatever reason. I know one reason is I loved how they use to look. The 70s and 60s too but there is something about the 80s cop cars that just stands out from the decades before and after the 80s. Can't put my finger on it.

      The Crown Vics were a much more comfortable ride, too...which meant a lot during a long shift. I think the cop cars in this clip were the venerable Dodge Diplomat?
