Yes from young, we have a trash bag near our sink or prep area to throw the food trash separate from other waste. it's more convenient and cleaner to have it nearby during prep :D
As this is food waste and is usually wet, hence will attract cockroaches etc.
Newer HDBs and older ones are different. New ones are built closer and corridors are narrower. Drying of clothes area I think are smaller too. I always wondered how these people dry their bed sheet and other large items lor. Those who design these houses don't do housework LOL
You can leave things outside the corridor up to a certain distance. I understand you need to leave a gap of don't know how much for emergency etc. i.e. your stuff should not block the walkway or like cause safety hazards

因为water is being filtered and treated until it's as pure as spring water! NEWater!We Singaporeans force to be and learn to be survivors!

HDB Bomb Shelter is not ordinary room with heavy iron door. Its walls, floor and ceiling are reinforced with extra thickness to protect you from real bomb explosion fragments. Residents are Not allowed to do any renovation works which are likely to “weaken or damage any structural elements of the bomb shelter”. You cannot also do away with the iron door. When I was living in HK, I seldom hang my clothes as there wasn't good sunshine (even summer time, its just hot and very 焗, don't really see the sun) and no offence, it feels very dirty hanging the clothes outside. Regarding water, maybe because the building I stayed in was an old building (30+, 40+ years) the pipes are old and if I were to be away from home for 1-2 weeks, the moment I turned on the tap, it's yellow muddy water which made me very stressful. Although there isn't a trend for storage room in HK, I must say I get to be creative with storing stuff with limited space, making good use of every space and be "Marie Kondo".

I will vote Hong Kong for public transport. I am a Singaporean who take public transport daily by the way, and I am thoroughly impressed by Hong Kong's public transport system.
