Japan has an issue with how it treats women. In response there is the 4B movement, where increasingly more women between the ages of 16 to 50 refuse to have children and marry. That Princess Aiko is mistreated by her own male relatives by being forced to walk behind her much younger male cousin and receives no help from Parliament supports the misogyny. Likewise, we didn't hear any scandals about Aiko when schools were chosen for her because her schools were chosen on her abilities and not the fact that she may one day be empress. Let's face facts here! In most of the royal houses because of inbreeding i.e. cousin marriages, the offspring are affected in that they are of average intelligence. This means, they are no brighter than most high school graduates and an average university or what we call "state school" should suffice. Furthermore, if the parents are going to have the child out doing royal duties and kissing babies, WHY does a royal child get to take a well deserved place from a child who has actually studied? It's not fair. Hence why many royal children have stopped going to topped teared schools because they didn't get there by merit, but by being a blue blood. That the royal families have more wealth than most and can afford to get tutors for their children is not lost on the layperson. What is so upsetting is that despite these privileges, many royal children act like they can sleep in class and not study! That in itself is disrespecting one's parents, people, and privilege. In conclusion, the misogyny of mistreating women will continue in the Japanese Gesellschaft until either there is a change for the better or the Japanese see their population dwindle like the Chinese, Indian and South Korean, where boys were favored over girls, resulting in 130 boys to 100 girls in some areas. Most European royal houses have had first born women as it happens in 50% of all families. Europe's parliaments were kind enough to make those changes when a female child was born first or in the case of the Wales, where Charlotte would not have to go behind her brothers like Anne had to. Only the Eastern European, Arab and African countries still prefer males over females whilst those in the Pacific Island and the Americas accept the choice of the king or queen who is chosen before the current monarch transcends.

I support Princess Aiko becoming the future female emperor of Japan. While Prince Hisahito is only used by his father and political officials to prevent Princess Aiko from becoming the future empress.
Used by his father?? Japan's salic law is ancient going back centuries. While you argue whether or not the law should remain or not. You can't argue that the Akishino's are manipulating the succession rules because those succession rules were in place long before either Akishino and Hisahito
Please mind the enabler of Akishino family's unhinged recklessness has been Michiko, the empress emerita you praised in your video a while ago. Japanese people are now aware that the real villain behind the whole mess surrounding the succession problem is your revered Michiko.
Michiko seems like lovely lady, and I cannot imagine that she is in any way a troublemaker. I assume that she loves all of her grandchildren, and wants them all to live honorable and happy lives. She is probably quite content that Hisahito will become Emperor some day.

Japan has a stupid Emperor if he is going to be a Japanese Emperor. He should not be Emperor by privilege. Hisahito is an embarrassment if this is true.
There have been more female Emperors of Japan than English queens. This male only tradition was invented in the mid 19th century. And is now held up as an insurmountable hurdle to changing the succession rights. It is in fact a very modern invention and therefore calling it a tradition is a lie.
To be Honest, I fell BAD for both these 2 Young People trapped in their Golden Prison with No SAY as to what their Future should be. They are already being Judged and Criticized at what should be a Private Matter but being who they are, they have No ESCAPE. Has anyone ASKED Princess Aiko if she wants to be Empress Of Japan? I have a feeling she would say NO.
They look pretty mediocre both of them. Being late at work is not exactly a sign of beng respectful of norms. The boy will probably ended up being emperor and having to work work work he will crumble like a soft cookie. Emperor Taisho 's reign was also short as he was mentally challenged.
That is such a stupid and transparent act of blatant corruption. It would have been better to send him to an less prestigious university he can enter on his own merit.
Wondering if the young man was pampered and made much of because he's the only male heir, giving rise to an inflated ego and narcissistic inclinations with the fear of failure to live up to expectations.
I'm afraid that boy is mentally weak like not insane but fragile. Maybe because he knows what will happen to him in future and that responsibility is way too heavy for him.
That's true but it's still not equal. Japan has followed a male line so if Aiko became Emperor she couldn't pass it onto any of her children but only to her uncle and cousin. Those female emperor's of the past were so because who ever the male line heir was at the time was too young to rule.
@@daria841 Ironically, what they actually don't want is the child of a different man other than a Yamato being Emperor. If it's not a Yamato then they might as well end the monarchy there. It's about thwarting the men that marry in so they can't marry in and "start their own dynasty" so to speak. Most countries have known several dynasties because of continuity through several senior line daughters (still sexist because it's usually when they run out of sons) but Japan has only ever known one. Because of the religious significance of that one house some people have compared it to asking for a female Pope. Personally, since it's about "descent from the gods" I don't think gender should matter that much but I guess they made rules and held to them consistently to avoid conflict. Patriarchy and hereditary monarchy are almost always closely linked because it's ultimately about concentrating power and privilege in the hands of a few, something both are designed to do. Even when there are female monarchs they usually prefer sons over daughters. It's no accident that gender blind successions only came forth in the monarchies that survived after they became virtually powerless and instead being more akin to a homecoming court.
@@Floortile To publish an article in a Japanese renowned journal at his age and being assisted by a professor renowned for that field and even to the point that university entrance rules are altered on his behalf …tell me this isn’t scandalous.
@@chuckbass3934 If it is proven the case then, yes, that is scandalous. My point - and perhaps I was inarticulate - was to wonder what Hisahito has himself - himself - done that is provably scandalous? He’s only just 18 - legally, of age but still very much under the sway of others. In short, what charge can be laid at his door of a ‘high crime or misdemeanour’ that - knowingly and wittingly - he has direct personal responsibility for and/or was the initiator of.
@@Floortile You must misunderstood something. I didn't mention anywhere in my statement that he did it by himself. Base on his academic achievement shown by the media, i don't think he did them by himself either.
The Meiji Constitution of 1889 was replaced in 1947 by a new constitution which established a parliamentary system of government with the Emperor as a symbol of the nation, which is modeled after the British system. This effort was led by Gen. McArthur and the occupying forces after WWII. One thing that also stems from this new constitution is the elimination of all the aristocratic families besides the immediate family of the Emperor. The end result of this is a drastic reduction of possible princely or aristocratic husbands and wives for the Emperor's family, effectively reduces the possibility of a male heir. The stipulation that the Emperor had to be male didn't change from the Meiji Constitution. The fundamental change for the Japanese constitution was that now the "sovereign power resides with the people". That being said, this constitution has never been amended, which could have been done to include women in the line of succession. There have been 8 regnant Empresses in Japanese history, not consorts, so it would not be something totally unheard of.
Japan still lives in Stone Age in case of Royal succession... They already have a wonderful princess who can be a great monarch and have good etiquettes and very intelligent. Yet they are choosing a person is intellectually challenged with a power hungry mother just because he is a MALE. Didn’t japan see the world had many great female monarchs? Didn't they see Queen Elizabeth 1 & 2, Victoria, Isabella? Don't they see princes Leonor of spain, crown princess Victoria of sweden, Princess ingrid, princess amalia? Outdated Japan....Do they even treat their women well? I don't understand. Seeing how the country's birth rate is declining...I don't think they do. All they care about work, money and no family.
But please try to pronounce the names of the members of the Japanese imperial family correctly. Thank you. It sounds awful for someone who is used to the correct pronounciation and is disturbing when listening to the reports.
Imagine if the Imperial Family does not recognize Aiko as an empress and let her go, but she produces male children in the future...Ohh too bad for them
Japan is a country of honorable people. So how can a member of the royal family and future emperor behave like this? Shouldn't the boy's parents be ashamed to admit that their son has ruined the imperial family and Japan and cannot become the future emperor of Japan? Isn't there a law that would allow this boy to be removed from the line of succession to the imperial throne? Besides, everything indicates that he is not very intelligent, I also read comments that his biological father may be someone else. How then, in an atmosphere of scandal and suspicion, can he continue to be treated as the heir to the throne, rather than the rightful daughter of the emperor, intelligent and modest?
Changing the law to gender neutral succession is only half the story. They also need to restore the collateral branches of the imperial family to thier proper place hence enabling Aiko to find a suitable consort with impeccable pedigree hence enusuring that her children can continue the bloodline after her for generations to come.
"If Emperor Keitai began a new dynasty as some historians believe, then Emperor Buretsu would have been the last monarch of the first recorded dynasty of Japan." and it would explain why Kinmei started to rule during the reign of his eldest brother Ankan since the main wife of Keitai(a thing which could be explained by the jure uxoris and legitimation that formerly could be given by marriage with someone relative of a former king) was an elder sister of Emperor Buretsu and the mother of Kinmei differently from his older brothers and other siblings who, by the way, were children of Keitai and women from other families, therefore making him the only biological descendant of the Original Japanese Dynasty though his mother and also all the other emperors that ruled later IN FACT FEMALE-LINE DESCENDANTS OF EMPEROR JIMMU, Kimmei's brothers had wifes who were Emperor Ninken's children too but they didn't have descendants with them his descendants have never ruled over Japan and neither Ankan nor Senka had "Jimmu's blood" so if it's true it doesn't make sense women and their lineage not to have rights to japanese throne since all of the emperors are nothing more than Female-line members of Japanese Imperial Family and there isn't any male-line members anymore, the original Yamato clan no longer exists if it's true and it's probably real since the japanese people in Jimmu's time is one and the current one is majoritary Yamato people in addition to the existence of Himiko and differences between her culture and current one, It may be the Greatest Lie in the Story of Japan
All the english kings since the father of Richard the Lionheart have had the blood of the House of Wessex, the first dynasty to rule England and the only one to rule Wessex through the father of the maternal grandmother of Princess Matilda and it's possible that Keitai is from a biologically different dynasty than Buretsu and if the account of the sisters of Buretsu having gotten married to Keitai and his first 2 sons is true, so all the later Emperors of Japan are actually female-line descendants of the Original Dynasty of Japan, which would shake the structure of the Imperial House, which doesn't allow women and their lineages to inherit and they claim to be direct biological descendants of Jimmu through the Patrilineal line and a proof of this is that the people of Jimmu's times aren't the same majority Japanese people as they are now
It’s a clear say to me that the prince is rebelling in his own way. What does it matter whether he study or not? The adults around him keep manipulate stuff so he could pass as an heir. This is like him giving a middle finger.
Maybe “the system” is at fault - but Hisahito has, himself, done nothing wrong, other than falling asleep in class. He has not been caught out; arguably, the system which wants to promote the future Emperor has, but there is no evidence that the young man himself has committed any wrong, nor that he has ordered wrong to be committed on his behalf.
Prince Hisahito could become a great emperor of Japan. In general,a genius is only good at one thing.Prince Hisahito's expertise might be a niche field in social science or a nascent field in biology. He doesn't have to be good at English, in most sciences or mathematics to rule wisely.
The idea that the 18 year old heir to the throne of Japan is involved in scandals seems completely ludicrous. The pressures on this young man to excel and perform must be enormous. His fate is pretty much sealed. He has little freedom. Did he cheat on a school paper? Who knows? I certainly wont trust a you tube video to tell the truth which is actively looking to say anything even remotely scandalous about royalty just to get likes and money from you tube.
Totally agree with you - the wording to this video is click-bait and the content vacuous. The young prince may be sleepy and not very bright - but often lads like this make good sovereigns (look at Europe!). If others are promoting him, that is not his personal fault. Leave the boy alone - you’re just being mean.
This doesn’t seem like a huge deal. The crown prince isn’t old enough to make such decisions for himself. If his parents are cheaters, that doesn’t necessarily mean that he will be, when he is emperor.
This is a made up scandal. The idle rich are idle at school! Who was surprised to hear that? Royalty has never been bred for its brains. Neither the prince nor the princess will become a professor or research scholar, so we should not pretend that they are heading that way. For comparison, see how Europeans treated their nobles and royals. At Oxford and Cambridge, there used to be (in the 17th century) a four year residential course before the BA exam, and another 3 years for the MA, without compulsory residence. The MA exam was abolished early in the 19th century, but the degree was still awarded. Students who paid double fees (gentlemen commoners or fellow commoners) ate with the college fellows, did not take college (as distinct from university) exams, and got the BA after three years, in other words at a lower level. They had to pray in chapel but did not have to attend lectures. Despite these privileges, a smaller proportion actually graduated. Students belonging to the royal family, and the sons of nobles or bishops paid quadruple fees, did not have to attend lectures or take exams (unless they wanted to .... ) and graduated with an MA after two years residence. Even fewer actually completed. That makes sense, since they were not going to take jobs that required a degree. Students from Eton and Winchester, the two most renowned private schools, had exclusive entry to Kings College Cambridge and New College Oxford, , which gave them the privilege of getting degrees without taking the university's exams until early in the 19th century. The rest of Europe gave similar privileges to those classes. They probably ended after the French revolution. In England, these practices faded out over the 19th century. America did not officially have such distinctions, but we have all heard of rich kids sailing through college after generous donations from their fathers. We should accept that the aristocracy go to university to socialise with others of their generation, not to get higher education and become academics or salarymen in business.
The family blood line goes through men only, princess Aiko if she will marry an English or American or Arab the Japanese throne bloodline would change.
The bloodline will change regardless. It takes half of each persons dna to create a new life. Whether it is her child or his child both will only have half imperial blood. There have been many female emperors (empresses who ruled). In reality imperial blood does not exist. If you deemed the first as imperial each child after only inherits a portion of the original bloodline rendering the entire concept moot.
This sounds like a story planted by people who resent the fact that sons take precedence over daughters in the matter of inheriting the Imperial throne. Get over it, people.

Japan has a stupid Emperor if he is going to be a Japanese Emperor. He should not be Emperor by privilege. Hisahito is an embarrassment if this is true.
_If_ this is true.
There have been more female Emperors of Japan than English queens. This male only tradition was invented in the mid 19th century. And is now held up as an insurmountable hurdle to changing the succession rights. It is in fact a very modern invention and therefore calling it a tradition is a lie.
Females cannot be emperors. Females are empresses.
Support PRINCESS AIKO to become the Japaness EMPRESS ❤❤❤
Yes please, I’m for Princess Aiko!
thankyou verymatch !!😊
That is such a stupid and transparent act of blatant corruption. It would have been better to send him to an less prestigious university he can enter on his own merit.
Wondering if the young man was pampered and made much of because he's the only male heir, giving rise to an inflated ego and narcissistic inclinations with the fear of failure to live up to expectations.
I'm afraid that boy is mentally weak like not insane but fragile. Maybe because he knows what will happen to him in future and that responsibility is way too heavy for him.
Being an emperor means a lot of work work work like the governor in Blazing Saddles.
Is crown princess Kiko unpopular….there’s something about her that just seems very contrived and fake.
愛子さまが多く日本人から敬愛され誇りである事を世界中に伝えて下さいm(_ _)m
There were 2 previous female emperors, so what's the big deal?
That's true but it's still not equal. Japan has followed a male line so if Aiko became Emperor she couldn't pass it onto any of her children but only to her uncle and cousin. Those female emperor's of the past were so because who ever the male line heir was at the time was too young to rule.
@@user-ti5cw1ug6l the patriarchy in this world infuriates me.
Emperor female aiko ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is truly scandalous.
No it is not. Where is the evidence that the boy himself has done anything wrong - or has himself ordered others to do wrong on his behalf?
For Pete's sake, TURN DOWN THE MUSIC!
They should do like the Spain royal family and change the law
Why? Is Spain standard for the rest of the world?
そうです。彼は、知的障がい
Princess Aiko should be the next Symbol of Japan.
I vote Aiko to be empress
Japanese people have the power, NOT YOU.
Emperor female aiko ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Excellent video.
The music is VERY DISTRACTING and makes it really hard to follow.
But please try to pronounce the names of the members of the Japanese imperial family correctly. Thank you. It sounds awful for someone who is used to the correct pronounciation and is disturbing when listening to the reports.
Imagine if the Imperial Family does not recognize Aiko as an empress and let her go, but she produces male children in the future...Ohh too bad for them
The prince isn't Emperor material. Never was, never will be. Princess Aiko should be Empress. Time the rules changed.
I bet that kid is a complete spoiled brat
But he is so cute.
Indeed. In fact he’s not just cute, he’s _very_ handsome 🥰.
@@christinepaige2575 Handsome Princes make handsome emperors hem in my book.
Can you mould someone into a prodigy? Smart yes but a prodigy?
No Shame !!! Power Hungry Family.
Don't worry, he won't take anyone's job.
There seems to be a lot of prejudice against this young Japanese prince. It's a bit unfair, it seems to me.
All the english kings since the father of Richard the Lionheart have had the blood of the House of Wessex, the first dynasty to rule England and the only one to rule Wessex through the father of the maternal grandmother of Princess Matilda and it's possible that Keitai is from a biologically different dynasty than Buretsu and if the account of the sisters of Buretsu having gotten married to Keitai and his first 2 sons is true, so all the later Emperors of Japan are actually female-line descendants of the Original Dynasty of Japan, which would shake the structure of the Imperial House, which doesn't allow women and their lineages to inherit and they claim to be direct biological descendants of Jimmu through the Patrilineal line and a proof of this is that the people of Jimmu's times aren't the same majority Japanese people as they are now
They should allow the Princess Toshi to rule over Japan...
A very privileged person. He doesn’t have to do anything to get ahead.
It's the same in any royal family in the world. Japan is no different.
Dear Lord the music is loud and distracting. Interesting subject but it wont be this channel i get it from
Aiko for President
President? Japan doesn't have Presidents, it has an Emperor
😂😂😂😂😂
So what does a kid have to do yo please you HOPE HE CONTINUES TO A TEEN THEN AN ADULT😊😊
No. Stop this kind of illusion
He's royal. Imperial, even. Of course he gets a leading entymologist as his research assisstant.
total rubbish click bait
Where are the scandals? A very infantile "report" with a lot of "Trump truth" and gossiping. Boring voice and why was that music needed? 👎👎👎
they all don't look smart. even the current emperor short
This sounds like a story planted by people who resent the fact that sons take precedence over daughters in the matter of inheriting the Imperial throne. Get over it, people.
What it’s needed is an old style solution. Aiki and Hisashito should marry, share the throne, and have many children. Problem solved
