I think that the only correct application is the inverted Ω in this video, where the tape is inserted in the joint giving it the ability to take movements. The one demonstrating the application of polyurethane sealant over the tape is completely inappropriate. The other application showing the sealing of the joint with a sealant first and the the application of the tape on top could work only in joints with little movement. As little as the sealant can take and as the tape can take being already stretched...
