Bryson's a smart guy who just hit a golf ball 400 yards in a major tournament with a long drive swing: he's a pioneer. People with less talent, imagination, & dedication want to call him a freak, but he's the Richard Douglas Fosbury of golf. You remember Fosbury, right? He's the talented high jumper who invented the "Fosbury Flop", thereby, revolutionizing the sport of high jumping. You remember the Wright Brothers, right? Some people said they were fakes, but they sure proved the skeptics wrong.

Pretty sure you need to play well consistently year after year to rank in the tall time category and have a good balance of the game so..... yeah. He's fun to watch but that's more than likely all he will ever be.

In Long Driving, you can still win even if you hit the fairway only once in 6 shots. With his club head speed and the wind direction, 50/50 on it landing some place on that line he can even get a decent hit on it for his next shot, and 25% chance anywhere in the fairway. The US is so far ahead now that even if he whiffed that drive the outcome would likely be the same. Choosing a driver off the tee and going for it was a no brainer.

CRAZY go Bryson for everyone that loves to smash the ball!!!! AND I will say as bryson if you want to crush shit be prepared for your clubs to break it is the cost of being elite! well I i added the last part, but true.

it was a 603 yard par 5, but since he went straight at it/cut the dog leg, he made it into a 489 yard par 5. 489 - 72 = 417

It was. That’s why he only had 72 in. That he cut off the dogleg is accounted for. He routinely flies it 350-360+. It is not surprising that a big wind at his back he could fly it an extra 10%
